I tried one of those crochet hooks in Size J. It was lousy. It dragged on the yarn, I couldn’t pull a loop through because it was so sticky. I agree with the Crochet Critic, don’t waste your money on these hooks. They’re not a pleasure to work with.

I love the Mandela Ombré. It’s one of my new favorite yarns, and I rarely walk out of Walmart without a few cakes in hand. It’s so soft and squishy and just glides over my hooks. The stonewashed effect is what first caught my attention. To me, it feels more like a 3 weight, and I prefer the Bates “H” hooks. Thank you for your review of the yarn. I love hearing other thoughts on products I like. Your top is going to be lovely.

DJLC LOPEZ Just gorgeous yarn, truly. It has taken years to know a good yarn from a bad yarn, and all of the yarns I have gotten in the last 4 weeks from Lion Brand are stunning. And I have no complaints🥰

i just subscribed. I tried the bamboo hooks and mine is performing okay. I still prefer aluminum but these aren’t too bad with my mainstays yarn. I’m making a virus shawl tonight

Bamboo hooks even with no defects aren't all they're cracked up to be, they pulled or snag on the softest yarn...
