"The workplace doesn't listen to your gospel and they don't want to know your Jesus. But they will look at two things: 1. Integrity. 2. Excellence. Doesn't mean you have to be the best, but to be the best that you can be and continue to grow and do better at your job. "
I was listening attentively, but when he comes to say that we adopted the europeans style of preaching that needs us to surrender fully to the churches to preach and fish for men and he say it was wrong , that is when he was caught having two feet on both sides if you know what i mean. All i hear was to justify what his doing is right. I just want to come to one things, Yesus Kristus said to one of His apostle when Jesus recruited him, He said leave everything(his father), the dead can take care of him self. What does this mean, even the dead apostle father is no bigger then God calling. Hope everyone get what i say. I enjoyed Idris Jala commentary better, he did not call him self pastor or preacher, works for the church and people, and his words does seems very genuine, so much wisdom and "Let the world as it be"....
We cannot bring God's Kingdom into the workplace. We recognise Christ is King at our workplace. He is already present and at work in the world. There is no secular/Spiritual divide exactly because Christ is King in every realm. The notion of “Bi-vocational”doesn’t make sense then if being a parent, employee/employer, pastor, laity are all, vocations. By-and-large,We all have more than one vocation.
Such practical steps that was shared and a very good reminder that our work is also our worship unto the Lord!
Amen to this..
