- Transform a glass cylinder into a dazzling centerpiece vase. Learn how to make an ombre glittered vase with this instructional video from BHG.com. Start with a glass cylinder and three different colors of glitter. Start with a coarse, clear glitter and watered down glue. Use a brush to coat the entire vase with the glue, and then sprinkle on the clear glitter. Let the vase dry, and start the ombre effect. Spread the glue over the top half of the vase, and then glitter down toward the base of the vase. Finish the ombre effect by spreading glue halfway up the color and sprinkle the last color of glitter on the vase.

i want to do this for my sisters cotillion! do you think if i were to put an led light into the vase will it shine through so the vase would look lit up?
Very nice work, will be using this theme for my room!
Did this craft last night and let me add--you really need fine glitter for this to go off well. Glitter can actually be quite expensive (when you get enough of it, I had a craft party with multiple people) and so I purchased bigger flakes of glitter to save money. Overall it was okay, but we really needed finer glitter. Also, please indicate how much to dilute glue because I think ours was still too thick. I did what I could but it just wasn't right! Great fun though.
Try Mod Podge with dish soap instead (half a teaspoon dish soap for every 1/4 cup MP).
do we have to put anything to it afterwards to help the glitter stay in place? will mode podge glue be good?
Ooh great idea!
Will definitely try this! Great video!
I love this!!! Gonna do it tomorrow!
This is so pretty! I loved it!!
Do you spray anything in there to keep the glitter from coming off over time?

It does. Use mod podge instead. Half teaspoon dish soap for every 1/4 cup mod Podge
Excellent
how long does it have to dry for?
I'm making this but can you find that glitter at Walmart?
hello every where i look it says use mod podge, if i use regular glue is the glitter going to fall out
+Aminata Hydara Hi Aminata. I have been making glitter glass for quite some time and also use diluted Mod Podge but, any white glue should work fine. I also coat my Glass in a top coat once it has dried, this stops the glitter flaking off
Very nice
