I started using the cheap version of Michael’s or what they carried when I 1st started stamping . I think they were maybe craftsmart. They surprisingly work really well for me. I switched to sharpie oil paint pens in the last year. I thought it was a good choice using oil base when try to keep water and other things from getting in there and pulling or pushing that color out. But they both have worked really well for me. I might pick your up just to see how they compare to what I’m already using.

I have a few questions. How long does the color last? Do the pens work on raw brass? Is it necessary to seal or lacquer over the impression once its been colored?

It stays pretty deep in there. Of course as with everything when jewelry is exposed to the elements it will fade. You are coloring in the impressions, not actually oxidizing the metal. You can do that with Liver of Sulfur or a product like silver black. But these pens work great! You can always seal it with a metal sealant as well.
