- I never thought that day that I want to own a bike will come... but it did. I traded my 2017 Dodge Challenger R/T 5.7L HEMI V8 for a 2016 Harley with only 900 miles on the clock and a serious tune. I loved the Dodge and owned it for over 4 years. I bought it brand new with the goal to drive 60k miles with it and so I did. It is time I learn how to ride!
If you guys want to know more about the car and bike I will do a better video later on.
Hi. Thanks for sharing the video. Love the look of this slim. The back fender really looks great. Would love to see more of this bike. Sounds great too. Best of luck with it.
I ride a Softail Slim as a 'daily driver' ... it's raw and pays homage to messenger bikes of the past, but with modern day reliability. Fit a set of Metzeler Cruisetec tires and you'll love it even more. I've got a pair of Nelson Rigg NR400 saddlebags, plus a 2 gallon plastic ammo box strapped onto the handlebar for storage, which also doubles up as a mini fairing, making long rides more comfy. Whilst not the most glamorous H-D, the Softail Slim is a workhorse with cool factor.
The set of Cruistecs is waiting in the garage ;) Waiting for my appointment with the Harley shop to put them on.
@@GeorgeVGuitars You've made a good choice of tires George. Since putting on Cruisetec on the front of my bike, it's so much better to ride in many ways, from absorbing bumps to just making the ride so relaxing & enjoyable. I'm still waiting for the delivery of a Cruisetec for the rear to replace my Michelin Commander III. Time will tell as to how long the Cruisetecs will last, but the general 'feel' of the bike when riding is so much better even by putting the Cruisetec on the front. I can't wait to get the new one on the rear.
@@Jonathan-L I wanted to get the Commander actually but they were not available where I live. Everybody says the Michelin is the best.
@@GeorgeVGuitars Hi George, unfortunately I cannot recommend a Commander for the front for your bike, because the tread pattern creates a harmonic vibration, which probably corresponds to the circumference of the tire. So guys like me with a Softail Slim will end up with a 'buzz' from the front tire, yet guys with touring models such with 18 or 19 inch wheels may not necessarily have the same problem. The Commander III on the rear seems okay, so longevity and grip is pretty good. For 90% urban riding, my Commander III has done about 16,000 miles so I'm happy with that. Some people are reporting better mileage far more than what I've got but maybe they ride on the beach to get the extra miles :)
0:25 all I hear is the drum pattern of the song "Bleed" by Meshuggah.
Also, cool bike bro 🙌
I know, right 🤣
As you can see with my emoji, I own that same bike also! had it since brand new with 15 miles on it. I will tell you now, that I wont ever get rid of it. Dynojet powervision tune with A/C upgrade and Bassani exhaust, otherwise, completely stock. Best softwail bike made in my opinion, with 110 motor, which was a CVO motor back in 2016. Treasure that bike, its a keeper! (I own a 2021 Road king special also, but still think the Slim S is more fun!)
I have done 3000 miles on it this season and I can tell you, I am also not getting rid of it. I am already looking at a Fat Boy, but my Slim S stays!
Hey man, love the bike. Quick question, how is the mod for rear fender done? chopped fender or is there a link to OEM fender?
Thunderbike in Germany did it
Beautiful🩵💜👍🏾
🤘🏻
You look good on the bike! Enjoy it and ride safe m8😄👍
Thank you, means a lot coming from you! 🤘🏻
For mine i bought the complete brass collection from Harley Davidson ... if there ever was a Harley begging for this collection its the Softail Slim s in army colors 👌
Yeah the brass looks good but it wouldn't be complete without the LED Fuel gauge... and i like the stock fuel gauge. Bottom line I cant get rid of all the chrome.
@@GeorgeVGuitars ... iam not going to argue with that one because thats a matter of taste ... i have the brass led fuell gauge and the brass fuel cap also, because one of them brass and the other one Chrome looks like shit ... but if your into Chrome why not there good looking bikes never the less 👊👍
I have this brick complete brass bullet bolts
Sweet ass ride brother!
🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
That’s a big bike to start on
Yeah, but I manage so far :>
@@GeorgeVGuitars that’s good, take it slow until comfortable
The bike is so good
So, how's the pickup cavity routing on this one?
пидал можи
Top Bike! Enjoy and Save Ride 💪🏾
Thank you, already did around 2000 miles on it :>
Very nice your bike, a Question, how is the mod for your handle bar?
Thank you, here it is: shop.thunderbike.de/Thunderbike-Parts/Lenker/Lenker/Lenker-Hollywood-oxid.html
Best Harley you can Ride
Yeah, deffinetely!
Do you recommended twin cam or the Milwaukee 8 engines
I am pretty new to Harleys(First bike ever and only 2k miles so far) I am yet to try the Milwaukee, but from what I gathered, the new enjine is smoother and more forgiving in low rpm... which for me was a tournoff i was looking for a rough analog feel from a harley and is exactly what i got. I love the torque on the 110 Screaming Eagle in any gear and love the mechanical "clank" sound the shifter makes. Maybe I will eventiually get a post 2017 Fat Boy and we shall see. I gotta go try out the M8 in the dealership. I will have feedback soon.
@@GeorgeVGuitars cool
I currently own both, the Slim S with the 110, and RKS with the 114 M8, and will tell you that the twin cam sounds better, but the M8 is smoother. FYI
Yeah I have tried the M8, definitely smoother, but not what I am looking for in a Harley. :>
