@adamrothraisdead The main melody is made with a sawtooth wave that I drew in the sample editor, it has some vibrato effect on bits and some note slides. The whole melody is also copied onto another track a few steps lower down and with lower volumes to create an echo effect. Check out the Milky Tracker manual on the website, it explains all the effect commands quite well. :)
@CosmoSamsa haha, thanks for the comment. I think fruity loops is a decent program but using a tracker does force you to work in different ways which brings out new ideas.
@Pyro25100 Hey thanks, I remember starting this track in work and then working on it some more when I got home, maybe did a few finishing touches the next day. So probably just over a day I think.
@killerbanjo Thanks! I could, but it's really easy to make. It's just a square wave with the edges slightly angled. If you use milky tracker you can create a new sample and just draw the shape in.
@killerbanjo It's different for each song but when using milky tracker i'd normally create a few different instruments, use for one for bass, one for lead and another set for some background arpegios and things like that. I also create a few waveforms for drums and effects, white noise is good for cymbal sounds. A good way to learn about layers would be to download some modules and look at how they are made, try muting and soloing channels to hear the different layers. Check out the modarchive
@subrec90 Thanks for the tip... after a few months of dabbling i now have milkytracker more or less sorted out tech wise but i cannot think of a good tune for the life of me :V I play banjo so trying to write a chip tune is a big change for me... Could you give me some help? I wan't to know about "Layers" of a tune. Such as drums, bass etc... How many layers do you have? How many intruments do you have in 1 song? And how you write... starting with a drum beat or melody? Thanks! Ed.

1:42 dat key change!
@AlanPotter9 Hi, The crash is some white noise that gets pitch bent down with the volume sliding down at the same time.

This track is solid!
@DDL4Blue Thanks! I'll upload the .xm very soon, just working on setting up a proper website for my music. I'll put it on there.
Cheers! :) They were hand drawn jagged saw waves.
@mushk45 No 1 specific track but by the memories of music from old shoot em up games i used to play :). Thanks for the comment
@subrec90 Well the only shooter music I remember is Zone 66. :)
Also excellent subtle use of vibrato, glide, and arpeggio. And awesome transitions. :D
@2Netsrak2 Hi, thanks for the comment :) There is a link to the mp3 of this track in the video description.

Dear UA-cam: Please please please make an "Auto Repeat" button.
Just type "repeat" after "youtube" in the url.. as in, use this exact URL but with youtuberepeat instead of youtube.
Right-click the video -> Loop.
Try checking out the demonstrations in these vids: watch?v=-TYyDLElP4c
@CosmoSamsa Fruity loops sucks :). Milky Tracker, Mad Tracker, Renoise e.t.c are the best B)
