Samples You Didn't Know About in Kpop Songs

- Hello everyone! I'm finally back with part 2 of 'Samples in Kpop' with many more examples of samples. I know a lot of you were anticipating this video so I'm happy to finally post it!
I wanted to change the editing style from the last video since I wanted to make part 2 more colorful and just overall improve the video's look. I tried many different layouts and eventually this was the one I chose and I'm really happy with how it came out. I also took suggestions from the comments in the last video and added the producer info for all the songs so you guys can see who produced each of these songs. Thank you for this suggestion!
I would love to know which samples were your favorite/most surprising. I was definitely surprised by how many STAYC samples I found on splice lol. Especially because most of the samples weren't changed very much when incorporated into the songs, so I recognized them immediately.
Also the Queendom sample surprised me a lot since when I first heard it, it sounded familiar but I couldn't place what it was. Then when I finally realized it was Queendom I had to compare them a couple more times to really make sure haha. The original sample is a really long ambient sound(I shortened it in this video to just the part that was sampled) which is really interesting because I've never heard an ambient sound being used in a kpop song before so its a very unique sample to use as an intro. For these types of intros producers most commonly use a reverse vocal fx sample (like First by Everglow or Latata by Gidle)
Thank you for watching and I hope you are entertained and learn something new! Also thank you for all the support on the first 'Samples in Kpop' video!
Link to all these samples:
will post here soon :)

As someone in the UA-cam comments once said, the K in K-pop stands for Kshmr😔🙏
So true, they built this industry
Honestly
ABSO-FUCKING-LUTELY!! MOST PRODUCERS USE HIS SAMPLES.
Kshmr sample literally the industry standard of EDM/Electronic genre🤣
No it stands for Korean but ok
I can’t even explain how badly I need Hyper Ballad in my life 🙁
fvck j*den je*ng 😍
😢sadly we'll never get it.
i will never let jaden jeong live in peace without remembering him admitting he deleted it
@@35thrat He actually can't delete an album considering many producers, composers, lyricists, arrangers, and the girl's vocals were a part of it meaning they all technically "own" the song; you can't delete their efforts. It's as if Orbits don't remember how dramatic and theatrical he is when he used to be in BBC. He very most likely meant he deleted all pending Loona projects from his work since he wants to seperate his attachment to the Loona brand
They were coming to give and slay but Jaden Jeong 😭
never knew STAYC had a few songs utilizing samples! The samples used are very uncommon so you will never really recognize unless you are a rat that lives in the Splice database...
Exactly, cuz their music sounds nothing like the other songs so i thought they were completely from scratch, which is difficult to figure out nowadays
Most them also just an acoustic sound so we wouldn't notice it was sample
I knew butterfly was I heard it on the first listen
yea
but their songs are still so beautiful and are masterpiece~
OMG THE SAMPLE FOR STAYC'S BUTTERFLY IS SO BEAUTIFUL ISTFG
ISTG, ALL OF STAYC'S SAMPLES ARE SO BEAUTIFUL. HATS OFF TO THEIR COMPANY'S GREAT TASTE.
that's Black Eyed Pilsung for you.. unique bop makers every time
@@starknit Black Eyed Pilsung is one of my favorite producers. I love them so much 🤧💗

@@minerliton2481 PERIODTT
And i love the distorsion
All of the StayC samples are so so freaking beautiful to ears?
the stayc samples 🥺 they all sound sooo good
i love how samples can be used so many times to create such different songs
i like the background pics you make for the songs. they're like so not distracting yet fits the vibes of the album cover i loooooove it
There’s this one, idk if it’s a sample but that “INCOMINGGG” sound, I found it in 3 songs so far: step back -GOT the beat, tank -nmixx, and a red velvet bside from either ice cream cake mini or the red
That's not a sample; that's a producer tag for Dem Jointz. A lot of producers add their tags in their songs, usually in the beginning. The most infamous among Kpop stans would be JYP's whisper tag
@@ainultasneem7536 aaah ok thanks :) and yes the jyp making our ears bleed in alcohol free
Yes its also there in 127's kick it
and sticker by nct 127, that's dem jointz producer tag :)
Also in shinee‘s don’t call me
That Butterfly sample kinda sounds like the intro for wanna one energetic idk
3:18 wow, I thought you would refer this sample to Wayo by Bang Yedam. It's very interesting to me (as a noob) that one sample can be made into different songs
SAME I WAS LIKE THIS IS DEFINITELY WAYO
I tried to preshot the samples and for this one I was like "it's obviously wayo" but it was not, but deeply I knew someone else would notice it too
There's also a song in English that I swear has that sample, and by a male singer... I first thought it was a Korean bg/male soloist but now I think it's Justin Bieber or Ed Sheeran?? Hahaaa I'm not sure but it's bugging me.
@@isalovi1771 Justin Bieber's Love Yourself right?
@@isalovi1771 yep love yourself by justin bieber
your editing skills are so good like literally im in love
I thought I will just be watching another kpop sample video now I'm crying sobbing throwing up why tf would u include la maison and b#rn😭😭
Sometimes I wonder if teddy writes any original Melodie’s so much stuff is sampled. I’ll give him credit he knows how to craft them into a sticky beat
you'd think that if he uses so many samples, his sound would be a little more eclectic. it's almost impressively (and disappointingly) the same.
@@rkabcdefg pls, rosé alone knows half the global music industry 😂, she can stitch an album together in 3 weeks max. yg is the worst label i have seen in my life, even cube is not as low in my eyes.
@@rkabcdefg no comments, you put it all into words
1:23 is also in Seventeen's Thanks
WAIT OMG JUST REALIZED IT
Yess Thanks popped up in my head the first time I heard the sample
A masterpiece that we never had, Loona Hyper ballad, particularly loona the ballad
The editing is so neat, clean and smooth and pleasing to eyes?! Also the research went into it also must be a good effort.
3:23 when this sample showed I immediately knew, also another song that use it is 'Wayo' by Bang Yedam.
yess

i'M THE TREND is a truly underrated song! please stream it....
^^
Ikr
^^
Not the La Maison 😭
Not me recognizing the song as soon as the sample was played
As soon as I heard that EIEW AEWW NUnuNUN, I cried.
the latin piano sample for idle's i'm the trend sounds similar to skz's maknae on top (correct me if i'm wrong!)
i thought about it too!
The editing in this video is just so good that it makes me want to watch the video again and again like every song just sounds so much better in this video!!
I think the Latin Stacks Live & Resampled one was also used in Maknae on Top by Stray Kids (not an official song, only on youtube in SKZ Player but they definitely sound the same)
The one at 1:30 it's used in Egoist by Olivia Hye too
unreleased = loona
Butterfly by STAYC is so underrated, it's one of my favorite b-sides
3:19 I SCREAMED “WAYO” WHICH IS A SONG COMPOSED BY ONE OF THE MEMBERS OF TREASURE BANG YEDAM 😭🤌🏼
my favourite game to play is to hear the sample, pause the video and think of which songs i've heard it in, and then see if i was correct
6:38 bye I read that as I want a baby 💀
need la mansion and b#rn so bad
this and the B#rn drawing heejin made have been making me cry for the unreleased content lately 🥹😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 hyperballad is all that i ask for
5:19
I THOUGHT THAT THE VOICES WERE FROM ITZY
no because stayc producers do the best jobs
1:23 i’m pretty sure is also in thanks by svt
butterfly's sample also sounds like fairy tale by loona
i mean loona 1/3
i love that i could already tell what song it was gonna be by hearing the samples hahah
2:08 soulmate (zico/iu) tem essa sample, não? 🤔
e o bônus com as unreleased do loona, incrível.
parabéns pelo vídeo, a edição tá linda 💞
Idk what you are talking, but same, 2:08 my first thought was zico soulmate ft iu
@@hi_ddeulgi3646 she said "soulmate has this sample, right?"

@@LuanaSilva-yu5zq yes
I just noticed that all of the kpop songs that sounds bop for me used samples especially STAYC songs, they really love using samples i guess. It's so good 🔥
the hylt sample sounds just like ugly fart music but the producers managed to make it so fire
True lol
Your editing is so beautiful and cool
Can I just say. Your editing is sooooooo pretty ✨☺️
STAYC GORLS!!!
What an amazing video! Thank you so much ♥
your editing is so nice
The sample from HYLT sounds like the one from ZOOM by Jessi :)
i love the way this is edited
The second sample reminds me of the movie psycho’s horrifying sound effect if anyone who knows want I’m saying 🥹
R.I.P to LOONATHEBALLAD. The greatet album we never had. fck bbc
I could have sworn that sample that was in STAYC's Butterfly was also in Soulmate by Zico and IU...
3:39 sounds like wayo of bang yedam
I can't stop laughing at the HYLT sample. It's the core hook of the song and it's not even changed xD
5:19 is also in ,,Skip Skip“ by Purple Kiss!
You should have added a content warning for the orbits at the end😔
talking about unreleased song, i can only think about loona😭 all because jaden jeong😔✌🏻✌🏻
la maison hyper ballad..... a distant dream
HELPP the unreleased one full of loona 😭💀
1:23 Seventeen Thanks also uses this sample at the start of their intro
4:47 also reminded me of maknae on top by skz (changbin, chan, jeongin) idk
I seriously thought the siren sample for Love Dive was going to be that high note from Irene in Really Bad Boy. 😂😅
4:45 also sounds like maknae on top by skz
this video is so pretty
wahhh~~hearing all of these is so DAEBAK!!! You can easily recognize a kpop song from these samples. Wah~~so cool!
Video brought to you by Stayc/black eye pilseung lmaoo
I love these kinds of vids!
I think sample from kshmr also used on the intro of THANKS-SEVENTEEN
1:23 is also used in 'right now' by nct 127
hyper ballad,,,, gonna cry
The stayc "i'll be there" sample is also for wayo by yedam right?
1:37 there’s also THANKS by Seventeen !!
"Unreleased songs"

4:45 am I the only one who heared maknae on top in i.n's voice
Had to subscribe because the editing is insane 🥵
Where can you find all of those samples? I'm really curious
Splice
@@rozhinasadinia1234 thank you
I knew I wasn’t the only thinking like I swear I’ve heard voltage already somehow before
i lovvve how the sample for butterfly was edited
also this video itself is edited rly nicely!

Sunset CityPop Lofi Piano Loop 2:08

Stayc's songs really did those samples justice omg
HYPER BALLAD NAURERRR
4:46 I know it's not kpop but this sample was used in a beautiful song called chocolate by Isabela merced. Highly recommend you check it out!!
This editing is so pretty
I'll never move on from Loonatheballad and B#RN
The closest we will get to La Maison 😔😔😔
Ig wayo by yedam also used the sample electric soul - guitar loops and riffs
i treat these videos like it's a guessing game 😭😭
Love the editing
The sample pack in rainbow halo kinda sounds like seventeen's thanks
4:52 i thought maybe its also used in 'maknae on top' by I.N, Bangchan and Changbin
4:47 thought it was going to be maknae on top😭
do you know the echoy sound sample found at the beginning of sunmis you cant sit with us and twices cry for me and also i cant stop me?
Lyre
That electric soul guitar loop for StayC I’ll be there sounds very similar to Justin Beiber’s love yourself!
RAINBOW HALO SOTY
you spoke REAL
HYPER BALLAD :((((((((
Why kpop producers don't create their own sounds?
They do, but using samples sometimes is something common in the music industry in general, no matter the country or music genre
using samples has been used in the music industry for years and years
Its one of the most common thing to happen...
they do. but it’s hard to be creative in an industry where you’re supposed to pump out up to 15 songs every 6 or less months.
creative burnout
@@starbursting ikr, in the end of the day it's a Industry like others, they care about the products and the money.
The oh ho one at around 5:15 kinda reminds me of Purple Kiss' Skip Skip.
