So helpful, I lived in the US for 31 years and recently returned back to Taiwan. Teaching at local after school center. I was searching for a teaching certificate since my major wasn’t education in college. Certificate wasn’t required but I feel I need that training and certificate to ensure I’m doing my best teaching these kids. Thank you so much!
Hi hi Jaime, I really appreciate all of your content .. I'm thinking of going for a DELTA instead of a CELTA since I major in teaching English for adults? Do you think It's better ?
Interesting observations. I obtained my TEFL qualification back in 1995! Bringing things forward, what are your views on the TEFL Training Institute of Ireland? Thank you.
Hi Jamie, I have another question...I have a 120 hour TEFL certificate and I currently live in California, United States. I currently work as a special education instructional assistant but I would like to get back into ESL teaching. Is there any advantage to getting a CELTA certificate if I decide to stay in California?
@@milkoluna9325 CELTA focuses specifically on teaching adults. If you want to teach adults, this would be a good choice, but if you want to teach kids or kids and adults, then I suggest a different course.
Hey there! enjoying your videos! I'm from the uk with a British passport, I have been searching for a Tefel company, I have ruled alot of them out but I'm now looking at TTA, would you say this company is a safe option and a good one to go with? I'd be looking to teach abroad and online eventually becoming freelance. Thankyou! 🙏
Hi I'm an Indian doing TEFL now with an intention to teach abroad...I have heard now that non natives are not considered or given teaching eng abd natives r only preferred...why is it so?
You'll want to research which countries you are eligible to work in as an English teacher. For example, you need a passport from a native speaking country to legally work as an English teacher in China. Each country has different visa requirements. If you want to teach in Spain, for example, Indian teachers can apply to the Auxiliares de Conversacion program. If you want to teach in South Korea, you'll need to go through the EPIK program. Both of these programs have addtional requirements for Indian teachers beyond a TEFL.
@@ESLTeacher365 thanks for your reply Pls help me with the list of countries which accepts Indian teachers if possible. Currently I am doing level 5 TEFL from The TEFL Academy I have 10 yrs of teaching experience in international schools in India and Currently teaching too.
very helpful,m in canada but not a native speaker, have master degree, ielts band score 7 .which TESOL would u suggest me to do to teach in physical class or online .i want to earn much
It depends on where you want to teach. For some countries you’ll need to have higher than 7 on IELTS, so I recommend improving your English level first before completing a course. Best of luck!

DELTA is for people who want to become Directors of Studies, etc. You would most likely complete CELTA first anyway.
Thank you so much for this video. I just signed up for the October 3rd zoom meeting.
Fantastic! See you there :)

Wow! I bet a lot has changed since then. I haven’t personally tested the course you mentioned yet, but I’ll add it to my list.

Do you have some experience and a degree? If so, TTA is a good choice. If not, then I recommend ITA since it includes a 20-hour teaching practicum.

I have a BSN degree. Do I need a bachelors degree to teach?
It depends on your passport and where you want to teach, but usually the degree can be in any subject.
