Haha! What a compliment. I was talking to my mom yesterday about watercolor and she asked me why I posted the tutorial image of this rose on my Instagram Story instead of the one I painted. I told her that WAS the one I painted! She thought it was an image of your photo. I know mine doesn't quite have the depth yours does, but hey, I'll take it! 😁 Honestly I've only played around with watercolor here and there so I'm fairly pleased with the results I've gotten by following your tutorials! Thanks for a beautiful painting that my mom wants to hang on her wall (I'm 41, but still a momma's girl!)

Beautiful painting Helen; what a brilliant idea about the water in the palette. Ive never ever thought of doing that. I think it will make it easier and more controlled for me as i tend to wet the paper too much. Thanks so much. Xx

Thank you, Helen, yet another lovely tutorial. This rose is particularly pretty as I think the combo of colors is gorgeous. Don’t you love the Schminke paints. (I’m sure I misspelled the name. It is my ‘bete noir' of brands to spell.). You don’t specify which paper you used. I enjoy Arches cold pressed the most. It is kindest to a novice. Thank you again.

Hi Nat. Normally I write in the description but I’ve obviously forgotten this time LOL this is a mixed media paper, I prefer using it because it makes the blending process easier but generally, I just use ordinary watercolour paper at 300 GSM

Hi Nat. I’ve just got home and doublechecked. I painted that particular tutorial on 300 GSM HP, which is hot pressed paper although the mixed media one that I suggested earlier would work just as well. The hot press means it’s smooth but really, any smooth watercolour paper will do or what ever you prefer
