So sorry you and your husband were sick, but on the good side, you got plenty of rest. Your body probably needed it. 2 of my kids and their families all got that crud you were talking about. Christmas was great in our family because all 19 of us got to be together, which is a difficult feat with 2 firefighters, a policeman, and a nurse practitioner….shift work makes it difficult, but it happened this year! My emotional gift was a Christmas firehouse ceramic statue that my mom had painted and I thought it was lost. My mom died in 2002, dad married again 3 years later, then he died 2012. My daughter somehow got that statue from the second wife. I cried when I opened it and it went up on the mantel! My favorite gift was a new iPad from my husband…now I can watch you in better color! Love your vintage decor. Day after Christmas we went to Little Gasparilla Island 🏝️ with friends for a week and gained weight 🤦🏻♀️. Came back and took down Christmas and shopped and bought 2 antique pieces of furniture. Hope your 2024 is great! - watching from Lake Wales, Florida

I plan to take it down on Sunday and/or Monday. I'll give it a few days of being rather empty and then I'll put up my Valentine's décor. I celebrated my 74th Birthday on 12/23! I was very happy to get lots of coffee and treats as gifts for my birthday and Christmas. Also a generous gift certificate to a favorite restaurant. My thoughtful 83 year old brother put together a gift of food items all from Sweden!

Everything looks pretty & I dont like a empty house either "personally", for enjoy decorations whether holiday or regular decor. Beautiful colors all through your house. Bright and cheerful, yet soothing. I too am a maximalist all the way 😊 I collect things I love and my things probably wouldn't be of interest to many others, but they make me happy. I have gallery walls all over my rooms and shelves full of vignettes. My adult children sometimes groan and say, "Mom...what are we going to do with all this stuff later on." I smile and say, "I know y'all don't want much of this, but just have a huge estate sale and price everything cheap and it will make me smile looking down and seeing people so excited with finding bargains, just like I was excited when I first found them." However, I was so pleasantly surprised when my adult granddaughter was here for Christmas and she was walking around looking at things and she would say, "Oh, that is so pretty, I like that ". And she was surprised when I would take it off the wall or shelf and say, "Take it!". I love my things but nothing is "precious" to me, (except certain pieces of family memorabilia). It delighted me to give things to her. None of the items were valuable , just thrift finds, etc. It made my Christmas to give them to her for her little house. I love seeing you and your daughters working together and your hubby truly is a keeper. I enjoy you chatting over your videos. Love your channel so much!❤

I love hearing about others who like to decorate alot ... kindred spirits. Most of the people closest to me are more minimalist & either put up little christmas decor or no tree at all & dont enjoy decorating like i do. I have always enjoyed homemaking & decorating my nest.
I'm right there with you April. I have people (local friends and family) comment to me about how much time I must have on my hands and it makes me think that maybe they think I go overboard on things. I have always liked to decorate even before I got married I was collecting for my one day home.

You got me hooked on the amberware and I have gotten many pieces and now I have added carnival iridescent in marigold to my collection. I just love how all of these pieces look in the light. Your home is just beautifully decorated with all of your vintage pieces. I hope by now you and David have fully recovered. One idea for more decorative space is for David to build a door that has shelves built in or on it. ❤😊

Becky I understand wanting to downsize decorating. I’m 65 and decorate 7 rooms in my house at Christmas. I did invest in more picks and garlands for my Christmas trees this year instead of all the ornaments. I purchased big ornament babbles that filled my tree in. I was able to take the decorations off of that particular tree in less than 30 minutes and pack all of that up. It took me 5 days to decorate and 2 1/2 to take it down. I do still have the outside decorated but I’m waiting on better weather to take it down. I left up two trees. My living room is Valentine themed and and kitchen and dining room tree is snowman themed. I keep a tree up in my bedroom decorated with angels. Happy New Year.

I reached a milestone and I can’t definitely tell a big difference. I told myself I was cutting back BUT when I would bring one thing out I’d have to go get more. It all looks great. Have you thought about putting the Pyrex in the sunflower curio and putting those dishes over the kitchen cabinets. The Pyrex would be safe in the curio. Just trying to help figure it out it would scare me too moving those Pyrex bowls. Tyfs.
Hey Sandra, I think the glass would give way with the weight of the pyrex, it's literally held up by wooden pegs. I have glue in there to give it more stability but I wouldn't trust it with that much weight.

Hi, I just subscribed after seeing your Christmas and Valentine videos. I love your pretty and fun decor 💖If you have spare room in any of the kitchen cupboards you could switch out a pair of doors with glass for your Pyrex. Some people like this look, but you may want to see videos of it before making a big change like that. I used to live in a 1930s cottage that had one glass doored cabinet; it was cute, but the glass has to be cleaned more than wood doors.
Someone else suggested that and I had honestly never considered it before but it really makes sense. I don’t have a lot of extra space in my kitchen but if I could figure out a way it would be the perfect solution. I have run out of floor space in my home.
Happy New Year Becky and hope you both continue to feel better. Regarding thrifting gifts... I did not receive one, as I am the only person in the family to enjoy thrifting. However, I did give two and also picked one up already for next year. I gave my husband a little sign that said "PAPAS are just antique little boys". He got a chuckle out of it. For my son who is 37, I thrifted a tiny brown covered crock with a boy carrying a Christmas tree and his birth year of 1986 on it. I was so happy to see that he really loved it. On the same idea, I just thrifted a Hummel plate with an adorable picture of children on a sled and my daughters birth year of 1981. Though she doesn't collect Hummels (I do), I know she will love it next year, and use it each year to decorate for Christmas.

This year I did far less than in past years. It took me several days to downsize my Christmas decor, and in the end, it was absolutely perfect. Next year I would like to do even less. ❤
I will admit it is hard for me to sit idle but I sure did enjoy not having any responsibilities for a few days. We all need a recharge every once in a while.

I usually enjoy taking down Christmas with reorganizing everything and handling all the ornaments but THIS year I caught a tiny cold and taking lights off the tree made me wish for a pre lit tree. It was frustrating every time they got caught. I got over it. I absolutely love my goodwill 5$ tree and will probably never give it up! Your house looks beautiful. And I enjoy having a cup of coffee while listening to your chit chat. I take a break from whatever I am doing to spend time with you.😊

When I say that people will say “you’re only 40(ish) you’re still young” but I’m telling you (and you can back me up) I can tell a huge difference between 35 and 45. And yes, as much as I love to decorate there is something g so satisfying about taking it all down and putting my regular decor out.

This year for Xmas, I got two cabinets just like the one you put all of your yellow plates in, to flank my fireplace! I was so excited to decorate them for the holidays and I look forward to putting my favourite vintage finds in them now Xmas is over 🥰. I just finished today putting away all the decorations. I decorate 2 floors in my home and do most of it myself. My husband is not a decorator, lol. He will carry boxes upstairs and back down, but that’s it. Tomorrow a housecleaner comes (thank goodness) and then I can refresh my decor. I am 69 now so I have to pace myself. Please don’t overdo it, or you may get ill again. What program do you use for your videos? I use Movavi and I don’t find it hard to add more than one song. Sorry for the long post, stay well and Happy New Year to all of you 🥰🎉

Becky I was watching inside edition yesterday and they are calling the coughs the 100 day cough every one has them. I don’t. Lol hope yours doesn’t last that long.
I absolutely believe that. I have coughed so much my gag reflex is super sensitive. I have been struggling a little at work because there is always going to be smells happening in the medical field. They usually don’t bother me but lately it’s been hard. Hopefully it will go away soon. I’m so tired of it.
They got so much I lost count. Luckily they like getting things they can use around the house and things they don’t want to buy for themselves so I can get by without spending a ton of money.

I was actually in the hospital went on new years evening I had severe pain in my tummy they kept me for 3 nights! I have never been in the hospital in my life😳 it turns out I was severely dehydrated / low in sodium and had a very bad stomach bug. I’m okay now just on a soft diet - that was so painful. Anyway, HAPPY NEW YEARS TO YOU AND YOURS

I did invest in more picks and garlands for my Christmas trees this year instead of all the ornaments. I purchased big ornament babbles that filled my tree in. I was able to take the decorations off of that particular tree in less than 30 minutes and pack all of that up. It took me 5 days to decorate and 2 1/2 to take it down. I do still have the outside decorated but I’m waiting on better weather to take it down. I left up two trees. My living room is Valentine themed and and kitchen and dining room tree is snowman themed. I keep a tree up in my bedroom decorated with angels. Happy New Year.

Hey Becky. It’s so good to see you back. Watching you get your hose back in order made me wish mine was too! I have always felt that age was just a number until this year. I reached a milestone and I can’t definitely tell a big difference. I told myself I was cutting back BUT when I would bring one thing out I’d have to go get more. I just love your home. I noticed when you were hanging your plates above the picture window that the one on the far left slipped or dropped a bit, after it got hung. It all looks great. Have you thought about putting the Pyrex in the sunflower curio and putting those dishes over the kitchen cabinets. The Pyrex would be safe in the curio. Just trying to help figure it out it would scare me too moving those Pyrex bowls. Tyfs.
Hey Sandra, I think the glass would give way with the weight of the pyrex, it's literally held up by wooden pegs. I have glue in there to give it more stability but I wouldn't trust it with that much weight.

Hi, I just subscribed after seeing your Christmas and Valentine videos. I love your pretty and fun decor 💖If you have spare room in any of the kitchen cupboards you could switch out a pair of doors with glass for your Pyrex. Some people like this look, but you may want to see videos of it before making a big change like that. I used to live in a 1930s cottage that had one glass doored cabinet; it was cute, but the glass has to be cleaned more than wood doors.
Someone else suggested that and I had honestly never considered it before but it really makes sense. I don’t have a lot of extra space in my kitchen but if I could figure out a way it would be the perfect solution. I have run out of floor space in my home.

Happy New Year Becky and hope you both continue to feel better. Regarding thrifting gifts... I did not receive one, as I am the only person in the family to enjoy thrifting. However, I did give two and also picked one up already for next year. I gave my husband a little sign that said "PAPAS are just antique little boys". He got a chuckle out of it. For my son who is 37, I thrifted a tiny brown covered crock with a boy carrying a Christmas tree and his birth year of 1986 on it. I was so happy to see that he really loved it. On the same idea, I just thrifted a Hummel plate with an adorable picture of children on a sled and my daughters birth year of 1981. Though she doesn't collect Hummels (I do), I know she will love it next year, and use it each year to decorate for Christmas.

Your home always looks warm and cozy. I completely understand wanting simpler holiday decorating. I started doing less Christmas decorating a few years ago. This year I did far less than in past years. It took me several days to downsize my Christmas decor, and in the end, it was absolutely perfect. Next year I would like to do even less. ❤
I will admit it is hard for me to sit idle but I sure did enjoy not having any responsibilities for a few days. We all need a recharge every once in a while.

I usually enjoy taking down Christmas with reorganizing everything and handling all the ornaments but THIS year I caught a tiny cold and taking lights off the tree made me wish for a pre lit tree. It was frustrating every time they got caught. I got over it. I absolutely love my goodwill 5$ tree and will probably never give it up! Your house looks beautiful. And I enjoy having a cup of coffee while listening to your chit chat. I take a break from whatever I am doing to spend time with you.😊

Becky! Here's how you can stack your Pyrex- cut a cardboard roll and stack each one into the individual sections you cut ❤️❤️❤️(the bigger cardboard rolls work great!!)

This year for Xmas, I got two cabinets just like the one you put all of your yellow plates in, to flank my fireplace! I was so excited to decorate them for the holidays and I look forward to putting my favourite vintage finds in them now Xmas is over 🥰.
I just finished today putting away all the decorations. I decorate 2 floors in my home and do most of it myself. My husband is not a decorator, lol. He will carry boxes upstairs and back down, but that’s it. Tomorrow a housecleaner comes (thank goodness) and then I can refresh my decor. I am 69 now so I have to pace myself.
Please don’t overdo it, or you may get ill again. What program do you use for your videos? I use Movavi and I don’t find it hard to add more than one song.

I have been using my iMovie that comes on my phone and cap cut for finishing touches. I will check out Movavi. Is it pretty easy to use?
@@MyLittleVintageHome it has a learning curve for sure. I still have to use iMovie first to switch my video to MP4 so UA-cam will process it. Then I upload to Movavi to edit, clip, add music, do voice-overs, etc. It is free I think for the first month, then there is a yearly cost. Hugs and happy editing! Love your videos …

Becky I was watching inside edition yesterday and they are calling the coughs the 100 day cough every one has them. I don’t. Lol hope yours doesn’t last that long.
I absolutely believe that. I have coughed so much my gag reflex is super sensitive. I have been struggling a little at work because there is always going to be smells happening in the medical field. They usually don’t bother me but lately it’s been hard. Hopefully it will go away soon. I’m so tired of it.

I was actually in the hospital went on new years evening I had severe pain in my tummy they kept me for 3 nights! I have never been in the hospital in my life😳 it turns out I was severely dehydrated / low in sodium and had a very bad stomach bug. I’m okay now just on a soft diet - that was so painful. Anyway, HAPPY NEW YEARS TO YOU AND YOURS
