Thanks for the review. It brought back a lot of old memories. the reason why it is low dense is because it is built on reclaimed land. Used to be a beach area. Was lucky to be around before they reclaimed the area because i saw one of the most intriguing natural phenomenon on that particular beach area. While I was walking on the beach, i noticed that a part of beach was like "moving". Upon closer inspection, it was not the floor that was really "moving" but tons of fiddler cards (small crab with one big claw and one small claw) waving their claws in unison. The bad part was , my friends and I used to catch them and blow them up with firecrackers. Apart from that, the 2004 tsunami also struck in that area.
Wow, beautiful! I'm a native of Santa Monica, California (Los Angeles beach city) so wherever I live I want to be close to the ocean. So the MM2H is not available anymore? I was hoping to retire in Malaysia (probably as a renter) and meet Sean!!
Thanks for the review. I've stayed at Straits Quay several times and hope to retire there in two years. But this was the first video I've seen on Straits Residences so now I may consider that as well. Lots of time to think it over, until the pandemic is gone and we can come back to Malaysia.
Wow! I love this location and the residences here are well planned. Looking forward to see what are the development for the terraces and apartments at the reclaimed land area. Thanks Sean for this review. Definitely worth it to buy as a 2nd or holiday home for those who can afford la..hahaha..
Wah i tot more than 1.3mil. In sabah if property like this with all the fully furnished id design, seaview, some more got techy stuff cnfirm price easily 3mil
besides commerical area such as restaurants and pubs there is also hypermarkets like sams groceria and tesco...if i retire here i literally dont need to own a car already
Great job. Got a real feel for the neighborhood. But you should give some estimates of when the project will be completed. The rooftop view will be incredible. And yes, the reclamation project could be an issue. Not a place for late sleepers.
Hey Sean! Great video. Would have loved to see the facilities and your signature, refuse room 😄 FYI, Straits Quay is on reclaimed land. Water came up to the main road coming into Straits Quay when tsunami happened in 2004.
@@iherng -Do you think theprogram is going to revise minimum investment on housing and othere eligibility to tighten the program. I hope not and wish had signed up for the programme earlier. I think the govt wants to tighten the influx of Chinese govt spies and nationals taking over and interfering with the govt and expanding their base to other countries.
Thanks for sharing! Great review! May I ask if MM2H holders can get waiver for the stamp duty in Penang/KL?? Or it is only a new policy after pandemic??
Sean, do you know if 1.3mil includes those furnishing? I went to the KP sales gallery on the site but unfortunately there's no one in the office. I leave my contact online but seems like no interest on following up. Hence, went to E&O and waiting for city of dream before making final decision.
Hi Kim, you can contact Michael directly at 016-486 9668. He is super professional and helpful. Tell him I said hi hahaha=) Thanks for reaching out yea!!
How would you compare this to Queens Residences? Not as prestigious an area but Queens is true waterfront (not just "view") and is 5 mins walk to Queensbay Mall (largest in Penang). Unfortunately the shops in Straits Quay Mall are slowly closing and Straits Residences is a serviced apartment (meaning Airbnb allowed, no dry yard, less parking space allocation, etc.) Appreciate your thoughts.
Queensbay Mall is a more suitable local ppl / own stay purpose. There are also close to Penang industrial zone , if u take a look closely at the current master plan, there will be another 30k-40k density residential coming up. Straits Quay is a place more to the international zone, international school, brands, medical center which very convenient to foreign investors. Is not hard to feel the difference of the standard for this 2 location.
@@iulache5208 yup, as long as is residential title properties all do actually not allow for business purpose. This is a proper law while signing SNP, but still depending on owner behavior whether wanna follow the rules or not.

Hey. I assumed if u won that Toto
100% u will retire @NYC, HK or Tokyo.. Hohoo :)
Please do review on The Light, Penang also. That is a super atas development at Penang.
Sean, you need to get a review on Alila2 in Tanjung Bungah. Probably better built.
Let me try to check it out! Appreciate the suggestion and thanks for watching!!
Thanks for video.
wondering why you don’t show the sea view and the curtain was shut? How is the view?
is because that was just a showroom, the actual building will only complete at begin of 2021.
Finally Penang! Good stuff man.

If the units are facing Marina, then it won’t be an issue.
Very cheap especially for singaporean buyers...1.3mil rm can only buy the cheapest subsidised public housing in sg.
