Tony, Casey, and Sean from @MovieDumpster get together to talk about the extremely panned Munsters reboot by Rob Zombie. Did we hate it? Do we actually like it? Watch and find out!
Lily is a typical 150-year-old lovelorn vampire who's looking for the man of her nightmares -- until she lays her eyes on Herman, a 7-foot-tall green experiment with a heart of gold. It's love at first shock as these two ghouls fall fangs over feet for each other in a Transylvanian romance. Unfortunately, it's not all smooth sailing in the cemetery as Lily's father has other plans for his beloved daughter's future, and they don't involve her new bumbling beau.

I really enjoyed the parody and also I fell asleep watching the Munsters but I am not sure how I feel about it. I kinda understand what Robert zomboi was going for but it's pretty cringe at points
You guy's and gal are lucky I don't unsubcribe to you all for hating on Hocus Pocus 2

There's a scamer in the lobby
David yost was the blue ranger and he got bullied for being gay so he quit and the yellow ranger was originally black but got recast
Usually Sean is kinda annoying with his yelling and overacting but here he seems to be more calm which is nice to see. You can tell that the original Munsters means a lot to him.
I agree, usually he annoys me, but he’s actually good here
I thought the gag that Count Orlak loved rats was a subtle reference to Werner Herzog's Nosferatu remake, where they accidently killed hundreds of Rats.
A public service was done that day, even if only accidently. Nasty filthy creatures.
Casey’s positivity is really infectious. Really fun episode!
@Dermot she's better than Crystal, She's the reason why I don't watch Hack the movies much. I only watch the episodes she's not in
@@perrymehta6438 damn lol
@@perrymehta6438 hmm. crystal’s cool too.
Plus she's a Rob Zombie fan 🙂
@@perrymehta6438 you’re a clown
The Munsters was fun and fine
It was cutesy and goofy and silly and bad
I thought the lighting and visuals were also dope
And Casey is the sweetest most precious Angel child ever
Fun trio to have for this one... I'm still debating on watching the flick or not, but the three of you had a lot of fun filming with one another, and I Loved the chemistry of you all on this one! Well done HACKTHEMOVIES :)
I'm with Casey, I love Roberto Zombie movies. Especially El Superbeasto
I wish he would do another Superbeasto movie!
Casey is so positive all the time. She's great
All this Count Orlok talk makes me want a Hack The Movies review of Shadow of the Vampire more than ever.
It's not Rob Zombie's first attempt at comedy. Don't you remember the animated The Haunted World of El Superbeasto?
Considering that living skeletons in the Munsters world would not at all be out of place, the "I think they're dead" line may diminish the joke, but may also be necessary to affirm they are in fact dead.
The Munsters 2022 was a fine reboot. Daniel Roebuck was the stand out as Grandpa, Jeff Daniel Phillips looked the part but his voice was off, and Sherri Moon was OK. The sets were great, but the plot was uneven. Definitely better than "Munsters Today" & "Mockingbird Lane."
Not even close. My Stepdad is 63 and grew up watching the Munsters as it aired on TV. He is a huge fan. We tried to watch it, and we had to turn it off because it was so bad. He also loves Ed Wood movies, so if he hated this Munsters reboot, that really says something.
I'm gonna try to call it.... it was fine and fun
Vintage TV feel he was a sound production manager for a TV more zany but in the same vein but more horror comedy than cartoon comedy like Pee Wee
Not even close. I had to turn it off.
I felt more fun and fine
It was boring as h*ll.
I feel like everyone here is valid. It's a awful movie. I personally had my own fun with it and I am a fan of the original series. I think we can all agree this movie is better than The Munsters Revenge
Zombie The Munsters, that was the purpose of the opening graphic. The joke in the date scene is Orlok is too self-involved to get the skeleton joke Lilly makes. It still doesn't fix things. Tony, please fix the bed head.
Zombo was a character on the original '66 Munsters show. entire episode named after him. thats who the character Herman's actor played on the TV that Herman likes is.
Type O Negative was a 90s band. Could be a reference if they toured together
I was very surprised. I ended up really liking it. It was very different. Like a big fun LSD trip.
The Neca figure of Zombo really is great , literally the first time I ever almost bought an action figure off Amazon.

For me, this was the first exposure to The Munsters, I did see the Addams Family 60's show on VHS at my grandma's house when I was a kid.
When I saw the trailer for Rob Zombie's Munsters I thought it looked like a dumpster fire, I read all the negative press it was getting, yet I could not wait to see it.
I loved it, so maybe half the jokes fall flat and the cinematography was bad, but the movie itself is a trip, I have never seen anything like it, I started watching the original show afterwards and liked that as well.
Addams Family Values should have opened with someone asking about the extra leg on the baby clothes from the end of part 1 and Gomez saying "it's gonna be a boy."
I still got to finish watching this movie only made it 46 minutes in before I stopped.
I like 31 and Lord's of Salem. I would say they're both underrated movies.
They are without a doubt underrated movies.....People go into Lords of Salem expecting a horror movie, IF you go into it like its an arthouse film then your going to have a better time.....Lords of Salem is more arthouse film than straight up horror movie....
The only movie Im kinda disappointed with was Three From Hell and that kinda isn't helped by all the issues and Sid Haig's health...I don't hate it but its not as good as House and Rejects.
I prefer lords of Salem for its visuals 31 is an alright seasonal grindhouse film. I'd put that on as a warm up if I was doing a rob zombie marathon
2 great horror movies 🎬
Lords of Salem was great till the monster reveal at the end, totally took me out of the movie.
@@thepantscommandme great movie. LOVE that creepy starfish monster.
Sherri Moon's voice in this moive was seemingly inspired by Jenna Haze's acting as Samantha in the Bewitched parody.
So it wasnt her normal shrill voice? Between that and her "acting" I havent seen this, because Rob cant seemingly do a film without her...but if shes improved I might because I grew up on Munsters
@@cthulhupthagn5771 Oh yeah, it was shrill. I didn't mean that comparison to Haze's acting as a compliment.
Chalk one up to the "Fine and Fun / Fun and Fine" category.
Richard Brake and Daniel Roebuck were the highlights of the movie. It was cheap looking and corny but to my understanding of The Munsters... that's how it's supposed to be. And with the new Addams family adaptation looking like it's going to be more dark and serious in tone, did we really need The Munsters to do the same thing? Not really.
Although I likely still would have been on board with a full on R rated horror adaptation. Like a "House of 1000 Corpses" scenario but with the Munsters instead of the Firefly clan.
Zombo is from the show originally played by Louie Nye. Also. EDWARD HERMAN!!! That's who played Herman in the 90's TV movie
Malignant might not be "good", but it's a helluva lot of fun.
Yeah good isn't what I'd call it but by the end I was smiling
Believe it or not the washer and dryer in the kitchen is a pretty common thing. I have that setup in my house.
Probably has something to do with the pipes
I watched the trailer and I thought this movie looked horrible. And it was, it was very cheesy and I loved every second of it
At the end I pictured Tony as Michael Myers running away from Richard Simmons
James Rolfe gave it a positive review
9:38 Casey definitely was listening to Paramore in the car ride there.
I just noticed you finally have a complete vhs set of a nightmare on elm street.....no more goldberg
Goldberg above them.
Thanks!
Mockingbird Lane was Bryan Fuller, of Pushing Daisies, not Bryan Singer.
I like the movie much better than expected.
Also Howdy Frens
I heard somewhere that the film was supposed to be in black and white. That would explain why all the TV footage was black and white, maybe.
Also, "evil diets tonight" lmao
Finally a guest that isn't a critic. She is a great representation of an actual fan
it's kinda refreshing to get a review of something Rob Zombie where it's not 1hour+ of someone turning their noses up at it like they're above it, yet give raving reviews of the crappiest things in existence. Tony,Sean&Casey were the right folks to review this, they were way more fair than those hyperbole spewing walmart value snobs.
Grew up watching both addams and Munsters loved both but leaned towards addams fam when the 90s cartoon came out.
well, at least it's better than other attempts like "Munsters Today","Mockingbird Lane" and "Scary Little Christmas". Definitely better than "Hocus Pocus2" that's for sure. it wasn't as bad as it could've been, wasn't good either. if Rob Zombie directed and had someone else write it, it could work.
What I could actually see being interesting is a sequel that is shot like a Thanksgiving special. Bring the kids into it, and a bunch of wacky thanksgiving family and guests. It might have some beats and physical comedy that recalls National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation? Eh? Maybe have a short run time of 90 minutes and have other directors shoot short commercials...like Grindhouse, but PG.
18:28 not sure if Radagast the Brown was suppose to be in Lord of the Rings other than a reference during the council of Elrond although Tom bombadil or Ghân-buri-Ghân were cutt out the movie and i am pretty much sure that Radagast was originally shown in the Hobbit book as in the movies (One book resumed in 3 movies they sure couldnt cutt to much things from it but instead they added a lot and Radagast was supposed to be there and help the Dwarves, Bilbo and Gandalf much like a wild cards, ewok style lol)
This movie was amazeballs. (never was a Rob Zombie fan till now).
Yaaaay! You're using my pen holder!
This is one of your best episodes.
I've never seen a full episode of the Munsters, only clips, but was mostly aware of them from the one Simpsons Treehouse of Horror intro, and asking my mom what the reference was. I watched Rob Zombie's Halloween when I was like 14, and had never seen the original. Once I saw it a few years later, I loved it and realized it was way, way better, but the Rob Zombie Halloween movies will always bring me joy. I also cried at the end of Devil's Rejects, like Tony's sister. I enjoyed The Munsters, it's fun and fine. I appreciated the cheese and camp, and was impressed with the switch to light hearted humor for him. It definitely fell flat sometimes, but I loved Herman and The Count. This movie did confirm for me that Sherri Moon can't act though 😂 it was laughable sometimes, but was good a handful of times. But the visuals were amazing. I loved the monster makeup, I thought it worked so well. Everyone looked great, especially Herman, that green just popped on screen.
TLDR, it's fun and fine. Didn't see the original Munsters.
Note: original Black Power Ranger was supposed to Blue, but the actor saw that cool Black gun-axe and asked to switch.
Speaking of colors, I think this Munstera movie haoudl have been *mostly* in black & white with splashes of color ND maybe a few full scenes. Kind of Ike what Werewolf By Night did.
It also should have been a lot shorter, again like 'Werewolf.
Went in with really low expectations and put in on "in the background" initially. It was fun, I'd watch it again sometime.
I liked it well enough. I thought it was fine and fun. I haven’t watched the show since I was a kid. That said I did enjoy Mockingbird Lane too.
I’m with Casey, I love zombie and the Munster. I was pumped, I definitely wasn’t expecting much from it, I knew it was gonna be weird because of the zombie spin on things. I just wish there was more of the monsters together rather than the build up.
A local Toy/Collectibles store is named 1313 Mockingbird Lane.
Lords of Salem....... I literally can't remember what happened in that movie
I like the movie honestly and I'm a big fan of the original
hey this movie is actually fun to watch
7/10
We need an episode with Casey crystal and kira
rob zombie really needs to have help doing these shows. I love that he loves these shows and movies but his vision needs better direction from you know experts...
Or at least somebody that tells him you don't have to dial everything up to 11, and you don't have to cast your wife she won't divorce you if you do a movie without her in it. Because other than the excessive griminess of most of his films, for me anyway she is the worst part
It was probably the best execution of a Munsters reboot but I just feel the runtime was dragging and Sherri Moon as Lily was horrendous. But I did enjoy it for what it was.
Tony hates Mint Salad
In the Munsters tv show from the 60s Herman had a twin called Johan that wore the fur vest.
I’d honesty never do this.. but if that’s a for profit school in the ad..
Just go to your local community college, or online through them if you have/want/choose too.
Yay I’m finding episodes I didn’t finish!
Tony please do another Ernest review
its like 1000$ and a nearly 17 hour flight from Transylvania to Hollywood.
Boy having some one who enjoys things in the room really made it glaring how petty these two dorks were being
Its not a Universal movie per say. Its Universal 1440, their straight to DVD cheap to no budget sequels like Kindergarden Cop 2, The Scorpion King 2-5 etc. They make movies with no budget and make them in Europe...the movie was shot in Romania......The castle was a real castle, The lab was actually an abandoned power plant.....Its in the special features of the blu-ray.
It was also made in color because Rob Zombie asked to shoot it in black and white and Universal 1440 told him NO....So he absolutely wanted to make it a black and white film.
The movie started to become interesting towards the end and I was curious as to what would happen next.. and then I saw 12 minutes remaining. Couldn't believe it was ending there. The finally 20 minutes should've been the first 20 minutes, that should've been the main plot, not their origin. Do the whole couple meeting thing in the first 10 minutes and then get on with it. It was almost a good movie.
Tony NEEDS to see Malignant.
How the heck is the sponsor for this video SNHU from New Hampshire! It's totally awesome but surprising since this video is out of Illinois I thought.
Since when is Philly in Illinois? Lmao
I love Casey!! And I'm totally in her camp. Yeah, this movie had its problems, but I had a great time watching it. Fun and fine.
Yeah that’s right I’m old enough to remember car 54
42:46 is that what it was supposed to be. I was born in 2002 so I didn't understand it
“One of the lightest fucking drinks you can get”? Is Sean aware that there’s zero alcohol in that particular drink…? 🤔
Edit: Casey is supposedly a huge fan of the show, yet doesn’t know who Zombo is?
I feel like this is a made for Netflix movie, which i believe is where it will end up, i cant imagine it doing much at the box office.
"The Lords Of Salem" is worth watching. It's fucking weird though.
What Tony didn't like a thing!!!! no way....
I'm just kidding, love you guys. Haven't watched it yet, the trailer did not make it look great but after Casey's glowing review will give it a try.
Evil diets tonight 🤦🏻♂️ damn that was too good haha See you at the gym Tony
My goal in life is to be in movie...get invited to hack the money to review said movie.but don't die.
Great episode! Horrible movie...fun, feel good tv show.
Ps. Casey hair and look...so cute! Very Daphne from Scooby Doo meets Melody form Josie and the Pussycats!
Oh by the way for you younger guys Idlewild is the original name of New York’s Kennedy airport
Tony, you should always know where your valves are.
I DID-- and from watching the YOU TUBE responses-- thousands of others HATED it too-- which is reasonable. The ONLY good parts-- the HOUSE was excellent-- and the black and white recreation of the intro- with music and them walking though the door after Herman makes the hole is GREAT.. the rest -- a totall cartoony waste of time.. and money if you bought it!!! They had to be on something highly illegal to make that mess... I think Rob wanted a REAL munster house to live in and financed it for this- and the rest is CRAP...
what other videos is Casey in?
Check out the predator episodes or Underrated Final Girls. Those are fun ones!
You should check out “Lords of Salem”, I don’t like most of his movies, I think it’s his best one.
Would rather see him do “She-Werewolves of the SS”, I’ll give Munsters a shot though.
First, I was a massive Munsters fan growing up. Second, no one has told me anything good about this film. Third, after seeing this review I now have no desire to ever see it. Tony, Sean thank u. Casey sweetheart, I love u dearly but no.
I Love The Munsters show and the 90s tv movie....but, I've been nervous....Rob has hurt me before...
I'm a Munsters fan and a Zombie fan so I agree with Casey
I bought that same 1313 mockingbird Lane street sign and put it above my apartment door. The pizza delivery guy did not find it funny at all
I like Casey, she is a great host, intelligent, personable, beautiful, triple threat, I’d keep her around. I didn’t even like the film, but her pisitivity is infectious. Good video gang!
Come on....who is this. Casey's brother? Cousin? Paid bot? Get real lol
Ay ay .. one outta three ain't bad I guess 🤣
Misery loves company, when your life sucks the only thing to do is be a hater and bring others down with negativity. Good luck with that, that attitude should attract the best people.
@@OnlyGamingClips I think that goes the same for liars too. Good luck with that
@@grizzlehatchet1 ?
I got through about 4 minutes before I turned it off. I'm going to try again later.
i Like all ROB ZOMBIE Films & I really Enjoy his version of THE MUNSTERS & I own it on BLU-RAY & although I'm a huge ADDAMS FAMILY Fan I do Enjoy THE MUNSTERS & I have the Original Series on DVD
There really is no need to hate the film, you can think it was bad, you can think Rob Zombie isn't funny and that people need to stop giving him money to make movies, but it was harmless cheese for kids (though many references for parents that kids won't get) and I will admit at 32yrs of age I chuckled at times.
Imo it was fun and a loving send up to the show with some Rob Zombie flair of course.
It was ok until the cops knew internal affairs were setting them up
Shout out to Casey for saying “how God works” unironically. 👏👏👏
What? No comparison photo of Tony and the Funko pop?
I think the movie is for your 70 yr old mom/grandma who used to watch the show
Is it going to be crapping on Rob zombie month? I'd rather yall talk about what you like. What about 28 days later? That'd be a good one to do
The It's Mint Salad over on ASE Presents will be talking about that movie on its anniversary which happens to be her birthday
Hmm, sounds a bit like The Flintstones movie from the 90s. Middle of the road love letter.
It's time
I miss white zombie not his solo stuff.
I think it was fine and fun. I think there’s an irrational hatred of Rob Zombie from certain corners of the horror community but I totally understand why people would find this grating. The Devils Rejects and The Lords Of Salem are horror masterpieces in my eyes but this is definitely towards the bottom of his filmography, but I still think it’s a serviceable cheesy fun family movie.
If you liked the Return Of The Killer Tomaties youegonna love this movie.
