To imply our character is the result of the actions of those around us removes accountability and strips the righteous of their honor for their self control and temperament. My father was a child molester and a fiend. He had 3 children. Each chose their own path, and not all 3 are righteous people. Our father’s actions gave us opportunity to be evil or to be good, but they did not make our choices for us. Influence is a reality, but a man’s hand being forced by the actions of others is folly.
