The first time I'd ever seen a Corsair in person was at KLMT. I was 14 (1981) and I walked into a old hangar with hundreds of windows on the doors, shocked to see a Sky Crane helicopter. A kind employee asked me if he could help me and I said "I'm looking for the Corsair" He pointed to a door and when I walked through it, I didn't see a Corsair. A mechanic asked me if he could help me and I asked where the Corsair was. He said "look up". I was standing under the cowl and the wings were folded. I was shocked how big it was. He let me sit in the cockpit and I was forever in love with the Corsair. Fast forward many years later and I worked on the F-14 Tomcat while in the US Navy. My living room is adorned with Corsair and Tomcat paintings. Well... I do have one P-51 Mustang painting, but that might have been an accident.
Man I love this aircraft, very sad for a final flight lucky to have been able to see one fly...
They aren’t retiring their jets, they’re moving them to different locations.
Love the Robin Olds 'stache!
I was hoping they were going to be sold to the public. Redistributed to support F35 training is better than being parked and scrapped
Nice ❤️🇺🇸😊🏁😊
Call sign Villian (ADS-B Villn11). Too bad Northrop never further developed the F-20 Tigershark, would have been the perfect aircraft for small countries, General Dynamics pushed the stripped F-16.
The F-5 is over 60 years old, but with modern avionics can still be a weapon system do deal out pain.
