During Sarutobi's funeral, Kakashi is seen standing in front of this memorial stone. An anbu woman comes here and asks "here for Obito?" And he says yes. She says "instead of always making excuses for being late, why don't you simply come here earlier?" And he says "I've been here since dawn, I'm always here since dawn. I come here to think of all my faliures"
That scene is in og Naruto, but after these two episodes they hit different.
His name also gets mention in episode 80 i think. Kakashi buys flowers and kurenai askes him if it is for obito
Remember how Kakashi is always late to meet up with Team 7? He keeps saying he helped some elderly person (same excuse Obito used) but what he really did is visit Obito's memorial monument every morning.

When Obito said those lines that when you realized how Obito greatly impact Kakashi's life and personality. True best friends indeed. This is also how the legend of "Sharingan Kakashi" and "Konoha Yellow Flash" was known throughtout the whole 5 Nations.
We're finally here! It's fairly obvious that the anime staff did not know where to put this, so they put it in the middle of an arc to disrupt the flow. There's no rhyme or reason to it. In the manga, it was between Part I and Part II so that the first arc in Part II Kazekage Rescue Mission's reference to Kakashi's father would have made sense. Sakumo was a war hero on the levels of the Sannin; it makes sense that there'd be a lot of hatred towards him and his lineage from those of the other villages. After all, you can't become a war hero without playing a major part in a war and getting a lot of blood on your hands.
At the beginning of the Chunin Exams Arc, Kakashi mentioned that he became a Chunin when he was six years younger than Naruto, so Kakashi was a Chunin at age 6. He had just recently become Jounin during this arc, so he is the same age as Naruto was when Naruto the show began not Shippuden. They're only 12 while Naruto's currently 15. Jackie was originally right about the ages.
Obito may come across as rather incompetent, but know that even Obito is a Chunin. There's a reason the Uchiha were known universally as geniuses. Even their worst member was a Chunin before Sasuke, a known prodigy. Of course, Sasuke was probably held back in the academy because the Leaf learned how child soldiers are just too young to be fully prepared, and there's no current war to push the Leaf into graduating students as soon as possible.
I'm surprised you guys didn't get the implication that Kakashi already knew the Chidori by this point. He didn't learn the Rasengan through the Sharingan. He learned Rasengan through the Fourth Hokage at around the age of 12 with pure talent. There's a reason everyone knows Kakashi by name. He's one of the greatest prodigies in the Leaf's history.
The Fourth Hokage was able to analyze the weaknesses of Chidori after seeing it once. This man is one of the most intelligent in the series. There's a reason Hiruzen felt that he absolutely needed to stop the Fourth's resurrection when Hiruzen fought Orochimaru. The Fourth would have been absolutely terrifying with that level of speed.
Remember when Kakashi had his final heart-to-heart with Sasuke before the latter left the village? Sasuke ranted that Kakashi could not understand how it felt to lose all of his family and comrades, and Kakashi replied that they had all already died. There's also the end of the bell test in which Kakashi mentioned the stone tablet with KIA heroes and that some of his comrades' names were on it. All of these things foreshadowed this arc, only further proving why this arc was intended to be in between Naruto and Shippuden.
Obito already had two tomoe when he first activated his Sharingan. That's just pure talent. Can you imagine how great he'd be if he survived?
There's a bit of symbolism in Kakashi's sword breaking. He's lost that one, but he's gained Chidori. What's another name for Chidori? Lightning Blade. Kakashi lost one blade but gained another far greater.
During the Land of Waves Arc, Kakashi claimed that he wouldn't let his comrades die. It rings a bit hollow now, doesn't it, considering all his failures? I believe it's as much a promise to the rest of Team 7 as it is one to himself. He's promising that he'll protect his comrades (now) because he's always failed in the past. He'd either protect them or die trying.
I love Kakashi Gaiden. It affirms so many events that were only hinted at during Part I (Naruto the show). So many things are foreshadowed and got foreshadowed by this arc. It's short and depressing but also super well done. Of all the many tragic characters with awful lives (and there are truly a ton of them; we've only scratched the surface), Kakashi stands out as having been dealt one of the worst. He wasn't kidding when he said he lost everyone. He lost all of the rest of his team (the Fourth Hokage, Rin, and Obito) and his parents (Sakumo and Kakashi's mother). Kakashi only really has Guy as a friend.
You know it's funny you mention how the Fourth analysed the weaknesses of the Chidori. Lee made pretty much the same analysis in part one when he first saw it, stating that it was a jutsu made possible by the Sharingan. I feel like Lee was made more brilliant in the og series than in Shippuden.
Edit: there's also symbolism in Kakashi's sword breaking because it was his father's sword. It showed that the burden/complex that he had developed due to his father's death had somewhat been lifted and he could leave it behind, be proud of his father.

Remember how Obito said “those who abandon their friends are worse than scum”. Kakashi used that same quote to team 7 back in the days. Obito's excuse for being late, saying he was helping an old lady nearby across as his excuse.
Older kakashi adopted this behaviour as he's being late at the start of the series with team 7 for the reason he regularly visits the memorial stone.

Kakashi has seen this and worse(there is more), and he never went rogue, he never became evil. It goes to show that it's not what happens to you that defines you, it's what you do with it. All time favorite character and HUSBAND doesn't hurt that he's STEAMING HOT
He became severely depressed and tried to get himself killed
He took every mission hoping it would be his last, wanting to die but not wanting to go the route his father took and commit suicide. He wanted to die on the mission, as an honourable shinobi of the leaf, but too bad for him he was too skilled to fail.

1. Kakashi is not Uchiha .He is not suitable for this eye. he use this eye need more chakra than Uchiha
2. people always want to take Byakugan (white eyes) but not Sharingan. maybe this is hard to use if you are not Uchiha. Furthermore not every Uchiha can wake the sharingan up.
3. Kakashi invented a Chidori is rank "A" jutsu when he was that young. Why didn't he invent more jutsu in this years ?

The reason the 4th hokage said that kakashi's chidori was still an incomplete jutsu was because he couldn't see the opponent's counterattack due to his chidori physically propelling him forward so fast. After obito gave him his sharingan he was able to complete chidori because he could see his opponent's counterattack now with his sharing an. It's all thanks to obito that we have the kakashi we do today. He made a huge impact on his life. And like everybody else has said already, the reason he is always late to seeing naruto, sasuke and Sakura is because he is always visiting the gravestone for ninja who have died in combat. Obito's name was engraved on this stone. The stone is the same one where yugao uzuki (the leaf anbu girl with long purple hair) visited for hayate after he got killed from baki (the sand dude with the air blade jutsu) during the chunnin exams. Kakashi was seen visiting the stone after the events of the konoha destruction arc, where the third hokage died.
The reason obito was taken aback by what kakashi said about his dad's sword is because in the previous episode kakashi told him that tools that are useful are the only ones necessary, yet here he is admitting that he has been carrying his father's blade as a keepsake, meaning he never believed that his father was wrong. It was just because he was scared of admitting it. When obito doubled down on his dad being a hero he stopped thinking this way and did what his dad did. He went back to help his comrades and put his mission on hold. His sword breaking and him taking on the form of a lightning blade is a physical interpretation of him moving on and carrying both his father and obito's will.
Ironically Sakumo caused the third Shinobi War. Sakumo murdered Sasori's parents, which caused the puppeteer to assassinate the third Kazekage, which was the trigger for the third war.
True. But it's Sasori who really caused it since he assasinated the Kazekage. Weather Sasori chooses to go Evil is up to him.

Sakumo died 5 years ago as it said in this episode. I guess Sakumo murdering Sasori's parents happened on the 2nd Great Ninja War. 2nd Great Ninja war is also when Sannin fought Hanzo and it was the days during Prime Chiyo.
I find it hard to believe that 3rd Great Ninja war lasted for 7 years.
