Jason David Frank was the Legendary Power Ranger and today his death has been confirmed.
Power Rangers is an American television series and franchise of the tokusatsu genre, version of Super Sentai Series, a Japanese television series of the same genre. It has been broadcast since 1993. From 2002 to 2009, the franchise was owned by The Walt Disney Company, but was reacquired in 2010 by Haim Saban, its creator and original driving force between Mighty Morphin and Wild Force (the latter created early in production before the sale of Saban Entertainment to Disney). On May 1, 2018, it was confirmed that the franchise was bought by Hasbro.

Not only that but it is a dark day In a sense that no one knew that JDF even had mental health issues to begin with, that I considered to be most unfortunate and tragic as well not to mention heartbreaking down the line.

I’m glad I am not the only one feeling this. Both Kevin Conroy and JDF were important parts of my life and it’s tough to say goodbye to both of them in a span of a few weeks.

He's the reason why I love Power Rangers and had a major impact on my childhood. He has and will always be my all time favorite Power Rangers. Just like Tony Stark was the heart of the MCU, Tommy was the heart of Power Rangers and they will never be forgotten.
I don't care much for celebrities, but Jason David Frank I always respected. Back when the show first started I only saw the first two seasons and Tommy was my favorite. In fact it's been 30 years and Tommy was the only Ranger I remembered by name. This is shocking news since he always kept himself in good shape, and while I am a 6 years younger than him. I do not look like I did in High School and College. So his commitment to health is admirable and inspiring. Anyway may he Rest in Peace, and may he now be in Heaven in God's presence.

I never thought he could possibly do this to himself, this just shows that even the people you never suspect can be going through so much so everyone here take notes, just show people you care about them every once in a while and make sure that you or they get help if needed
Sad 😭😭 to say but you have hit the nail on the head with that statement because even the best of us will need help with that mental health problem right away and never be afraid to ask for assistance and also seek counseling for any reason whatsoever.
@@claytonthomas1980 Sadly, the mental health services often prescribe antidepressant medication that can actually cause suicidal ideation but it's not exposed enough. I don't know if that happened to him, I'm just saying, people should not look for a quick fix in psychiatric meds instead chose therapy.

This is so sad. When I used to get upset or depressed, I would always think of Tommy Oliver holding his helmet up high then bringing it down and snapping it on saying " Back into action!" I always took this as a sign that rangers do not quit. They take stock, and carry on. We will miss you Jason.

Awesome tribute. I cried on and off yesterday since getting the news in the early morning. I got to meet JDF back in 2013 and he treated me so well. He truly loved his fans and will be greatly missed. He left a legacy that will be unmatched in the history of Power Rangers and that members of the Ranger Nation will be able to enjoy in the years to come. May the power protect us all.

He was a really amazing person, he had his own projects, he was always there for the fans.
He always liked all the MMPR Green art I did. A very inspiring person. He was not conceited, he was different, he appreciated everyone who loves PR and his work.

This still hurts after 2 months from his passing. I grew up with him in the 90s as the Green Ranger. I still can't believe he's gone. He was here in San Antonio in the last week of October last year and missed my opportunity to meet him. I'm regretting it every day but I'll always carry on the legacy of him as the fan I've always been of his.

AAAGGHH What a f'kin BLOW!! It's like one of the villains figured out a way to kill my childhood, one icon at a time whilst I can do nothing but watch.
RIP to a truly good guy from all accounts I've heard. I'm truly heartbroken for him and his family especially the way he went out. I never would've figured he was struggling so bad with mental health. My uncle committed suicide and I'm trying to stop a second from just doing it real slow by giving up on life not taking care of himself. It really hurts, especially when you think maybe you could've helped but sometimes the warning signs come too late or you don't process it as a warning sign till you see it in hindsight later.
RIP to a true legend and icon. More than anything, know you were loved and you WILL be missed, forever, Jason. Eternally and forever. At least for me, it's a hole in the soul that can never be filled because to my kid self, you were everything, man! The epitome of cool and virtue. You were, many times, the star I aspired to reach for, the ideal in my head as I formulated my ideas about masculinity. So thank you, Jason David Frank! In no small part, you helped shape the man I am today. Caring and striving to care more, do better every single step of the way. Rest in piece, Ranger We, your lifelong fans, salute you!!

Growing up I looked up to Jason David Frank. I loved him not only as a power ranger but I also loved his character. Strong, brave, loyal, kind, and a great leader. I appreciated everything he did not just as a power ranger but what he did as Tommy Oliver the person. I think that I learned many things from him just by watching his shows. I am going to miss you, Jason David Frank aka Tommy Oliver the greatest Power Rangers in history!!!
