Just got one a 2018 LT and boy I love it!
What is your avg mpg on your Traverse? I’m considering a used Premier
I got the 2018 AWD LT model. There's nothing to not like about this 2 gen traverse. Comfort and easy getting in and out is a breeze. I love this bodystyle. This is the holy grail of everything I want in a midsize SUV. There's not a whole of them out there on the road so this just made it even sweeter. My only small minor gripe is the torque is on the low side. Wish GM had up the torque to make it scream...yeahhhh....baby.
Now this is how you make a review for a car
The 7 inch screen has the hidden compartment behind it too
I love this redesign, it definitely looks more truckish than it actually is; makes me think of a Tahoe with much more care-like ride and better MPG. I would go with the newly revamped Mazda CX-9. As a single man with no children, I feel like I wouldn't have to explain to many people why I bought it. My only gripe with the CX-9 is they dropped the V6. They could have at least made it optional.
I came from an 07tahoe to the 2018traverse.same space, better gas milage, and more gadgets to toy with inside.i miss my v8 and manly feel along with the rugged 4wheel drive
Looks like a smaller Tahoe with the square rear... which is a good thing! Good job Gm/Chevy. Every SUV doesn’t have to look like a stereotypical crossover. Saw one going down the street yesterday and loved it! Glad they did away with the rounded rear.
Quite like the way it looks!
Yea my friend has the last generation traverse and I’ve got to say I’ve liked over all the other competitors and this car really reinforces my opinions on this car.
We have a 2013, almost 200K miles, still drives very well…as new.. .will get up and go.. when mother is in a hurry…excellent vehicle, we will probably get a 2023 at some point,
One thing I dislike about the 18 Traverse is the auto stop feature... It should be adjustable as I find it turns off at inopportune times such as a brief stop before pulling out of a parking lot or when using my security card when entering a parking garage... Just add a 3 second option and it will be significantly improved.
The 2nd gen traverse is the best-looking midsized suv. If you look at all these other so-call midsized SUV. You will come to find that there's too many compromises in terms of features and comfort. It's like buying a car with only half the car. This 2nd gen traverse has none of that. It comes with almost all of the needs and wants for a daily comfort driving experience. 204" in total length is the proper midsize suv that isn't bulky or compact. This is why I say with the 2nd gen traverse, you get the best of both worlds with features and comfort.
Great review, as always. Anybody else notice that one grey 2nd gen honda pilot in most of their videos? I guess we know what these guys really prefer, huh...
Completely missed the rear view display which comes on the LT3 and higher... It's wide angle view covers much of your blind spots for encroaching vehicles and is also quite sensitive to low light as well.
You said the stop start can't be defeated. Yes it can. The button to disable it is at the bottom of the gear selector.
Traverse is definitely my choice. Would like to see a review of the 2018 Enclave!!!
What did you guys do with Zach?
Can you test the GMC Sierra?
My sister has one and I gotta say the traverse is really nice! The 3rd row works great in a pinch but it's tight I'm around 5'9" I had plenty of head room, leg eh manageable haha
My family just brought it. It's beautiful. My only complaint is that it doesn't have GPS. However you can easily hook up your phone
Dosent this caratgorize as a full size like a tahoe cuz of the dimensions of the cargo capacity ?
I thought Tim was Micah older brother.
Big transformation full size SUV i love it
You forgot to mention the center rear view mirror camera
Can you guys review the 2018 ford explorer!
Thank you!
This isn't the year I'm getting (purchasing a 2017) but it looks amazing and the features aren't bad.
they tried to sell me a 2017 and I didn't like the feel.i chose the 2018 and love it
Can you review the high country
Best car review I have ever seen
this review sucks--it is nothing but advertising--and he skipped over the problem of the start/stop system that can't be turned off-a deal killer
Looks good
Gives the new X5 a run for the money especially the High Country!
What would be the main reason to choose either the Traverse vs the Enclave?
You guys should do a Buick Regal sportback/gs/tourX review!
Hey Micah that's an awesome t shirt ..can you tell me were to get it from...
Hipster Dad Reviews brought to you by Kelley Blue Book.
Can you guys do a 2018 GMC Terrain review?
I'm 6'4 and I sat in the third row on the honda pilot highlander vw and all three my head hit the ceiling but the terverse I didn't. I'm getting the terverse and the only negative is the folded seat to get to the third row is on the passenger side. The worse third row is the highlander
He didn't mention the trick camara rearview mirror that helps with visibility.
The only down side of this beautiful car is that when I tried to change the music, it will glitch out and click on random apps like the NY times.
Wish the traverse was an option in Germany. Besides the VW Atlas it's the only other SUV I've seen where the second row can lean forward while keeping a car seat in place.
Hey guys, you are awesome. Do the affordable Bugatti Chiron 😂
Can you turn off the stop/start system?
No SUV review should be allowed to be posted unless the ground clearance is listed.
atlas , Traverse , explorer or highlander , which 1 has a smooth drive, please help . though i am not fan of japanese cars
OK so what happens with the a/c or heat when the engine shuts off? Also, no mention of remote start--did they kill that with this feature as well?
Forgot to mention that rear mirror camera which stays on all the time and an industry first !
Chevy made the right move with this one
How does the traverse drive
Do any of you think this car would be a better option than the 2018 GMC Acadia denali?
The Highlander would be my choice definitely, but I got to say traverse has really stepped it up.
Nick B I love Mazda just as much as the next guy (I have a Mazda) but the CX-9 isn't that good... to be clear, it's a great drivers car, but third row sucks, and that really the only advantage the CX-9 has over the CX-5. If you need third row, I hate to say it, but the Mazda doesn't work nearly as well as others... unless you take driving dynamics and looks over functionality of a 3 row SUV. And if you don't need a 3rd row, why not get a CX-5? Still looks great and has good leg room and storage.
well we bought our knowing the third row wasn't going to be used very often. We just like having the versatility to pop it up and have 2 extra seats if we need it. I completely agree don't, get me wrong the third row is definitely meant for just children or short trips. We always have it left down. We test drive just about every entry in the segment and really liked the build quality, materials, driving dynamics, the style and features for the price the cx-9 had. We bought it knowing we weren't going to be hauling passengers on a daily basis, but we bought it over the cx 5 because A- we have a 2016 and the newest gen cx5 wasn't out and B- the option to have a little more cargo, some of the features(1 touch auto windows all around, and real wood trim, and Napa leather), and available 2 extra seats.
Winston Dias I would get the traverse over the atlas...not really a fan of the atlas tbh
How much, what is the Price 2018?
Micah what about the 2018 Land Rover Velar, 2018 Toyota Camry, or the 2018 GMC Terrain. I've seen them all and there gorgeous trust me and there pretty good the camry is sporty the land rover upgraded its class and the terrain looks so good same for the interior and exterior for all of them.
They should have made the 2018 Buick Enclave in this look
is it available in the philippines??
What's the name of that fantastic color?
Couldn't have made a better choice on purchasing :D
Eight passenger seating should be available on ALL trim levels.
I Honestly Think This Is A Dope SUV...
Why are auto reviewers obsessed with hard plastics? It’s a way to reduce weight and price.
My grandma has a 2016 traverse and she gets a new car every other year so she pointed to her old car and said the she would replace it with a 2018
Micha!! Please do the 2020 Ford Explorer review ‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️
I'll take a Highlander but nice SUV regardless
HodsBroo I went with the explorer but the highlander is a good buy as well.
Highlander will be my next car but I wish Toyota would make it a pinch bigger...I have an X5M and to me the best size for this segment
How many car seats can handle this car?
it might not look like much, but let me tell you...RENT ONE. these are so fucking fun to drive hard. slam it into manual mode, turn TRAC off and throw it in AWD and holy hell is it responsive for a big ass suv. it grips hard, and it pulls hard and will hold high rpms/redline! and doesnt auto-upshift like so many of these other vehicles. driving this thing is a god damn blast.
I like this suv, but the price tag for the premier model is very very expensive. Yes it is supposed to be , but for what a moon roof and chrome etc. Maybe someone can politely explain to me why the “next model up” is so expensive.
I've been in the new explorer, and it feels like a German luxury car. It's very comfortable.
James Island Fishing Literally rides better than my old bmw 5 series, it's insane, one of the best family cars out there.
Puff the Magic Dragon the 3.5 ecoboost is such a powerful and efficient engine
The entertyer I got is on 4:43
We need Zach
If you need that much space for a family, what you need is a minivan. Trust me, the sliding doors make a lot of sense.
saw a very nice all blacked out traverse at a dealership. But I think they screwed up the price point though. I cant see myself ever paying MORE for this than a much more dependable highlander.
Honestly love Tim! He needs to become more of a regular
Hey, your t-shirt is awesome
Wait until the new Hyundai Palisade and Kia Telluride come out. They will serious players in the three row, midsize SUV/ CUV's
i mean the lease prices on the Tahoe and Traverse are pretty much within $50 so i would just go with the more capable Tahoe
This is not the same as a van, which it replaced. I had to buy a different brand to get the space we needed. It is sad
Wish they had given the 3rd row more love given the total extended length of the car. That 3rd row demo was super cramped... definitely Only for shorter trips.
Finally!
What are you benching these days, Micah? Looks like you can "throw up some plates"!
Thumbs up for the Macho Man t-shirt.
The more I look at this it looks like an Impala made taller. I wonder if it's made on the same frame it has the same motor and same tail lights
Cheverolet asked Dodge for the blueprints to the Dodge Durango. You cannot get mad because it looks exactly like a Durango. It really does. I remember when every car looked different, you knew what car was what.
Honda Pilot has a lot of soft materials even on the cheapest model. lol. While the traverse has a lot of hard plastics..
I really hope GM finally fixed the timing chain issues with the 3.6 because for 35k+ I would rather get an explorer or even the Kia sorento with the 3.3L Ive had to change my timing chains 3 times already and each were 3k plus each time... it seems as if the cams on the inside part of the bay dont get enough oil. Anyway i really hope they did I am all in for this SUV if they fixed the issue
Ramon Gonzalez Yeah I would buy a explorer with the 3.5 duratec, very reliable engine.
Puff the Magic Dragon they really are i had a 2003 focus with the duratec engine and i ran it all the way to 230k miles until my cousim crashed it before that no problems
Ramon Gonzalez Yeah my uncle had a early 2000s focus, ran until 400k, it finally died at that point, well I assume, all he said is it doesn't run anymore, but that doesn't mean the entire engine is shot. Up until that point, the biggest issue he had was he had to buy a new coolant container for like $20. I hate when people say Ford's are unreliable, they have had some issues but from my experience and the experiences of basically everyone I know, they're right up there with Toyota. Again, not saying they're perfect, saying they get alot of undeserved hate. Thankfully it seems that most people are growing up and realizing ford wasn't what they were in the 70's and acknowledging their many improvements. Ford's like America's kia, a brand that had a troubled past, but is great now and people just need to let go of what they once were.
Ramon Gonzalez Funny thing, I was considering a traverse when I was shopping for a midsized crossover, heard good things about them but it goes to show no product is perfect. I genuinely hope things work out for you. If you are looking at getting a new suv, I would advise you to stay away from the new pathfinders and pilots, the new pathfinder is the least reliable in it's segment and the pilot has been slammed by quite a few engine, transmission and electronic reliability issues, the pilots before 2015 were good, but they screwed up with the 2016 redesign.
Puff the Magic Dragon you are very right on that. The only thing i could suggest people with fords do is just to maintain them. Simple maintenance goes far with those cars. If my focus hadnt been wrecked i would probably still be driving it to this day. And as for the pilot issue im not planning on getting honda or toyota anytime soon so thats not even in question i would rather get a kia tbh sounds dumb but toyota and honda are over charging for those suvs. They cost almost as much as a benz.
Can you release a video about the konnigsegg one:1
I like that cae is good
Looks like a lot of car for the price!
The 2018 Traverse seems really nice; too bad standard safety features on the $31k Toyota Highlander will cost you nearly $53k on the Chevrolet Traverse!!! WTF GM!!! SAFETY SHOULD NOT BE OPTIONAL!!!
No Brasil temos as velhas sw4 da toyota e trailblazer da gm
He looks just like Luke Walton Head coach of the lakers. But great video thank you
Looks the best being a CEO Car
I love the Chevrolet Traverse, It’s Better than the Toyota Highlander.
Lets see after 80,000 miles...Toyota feels like new at 150,000 miles
Gregory Howard I would like to buy an American car but i need a car that will last me for awhile. Have a Toyota Matrix for 12 years, 170,000 miles and still running good. Choosing between a RAV4 or Subaru Forrester.
is it rear wheel drive?
@@evolowe thank u, ended up getting a 2018 equinox and now i want to die😑 its been a nightmare
@@miguelcastillo6708 I traded my 2018 equinox for a used 2018 traverse 3lt leather and it was a fantastic upgrade.
@@evolowe id get nothing fi my equinox, battery died so the theft light came on n key not working, tail lift stop working, the tire sensors stop working the gas tank stuck on full😑 omg what did i do🤦♂️
@@miguelcastillo6708 a bad battery in newer chevy cars present a lot of electrical issues. Did you replace the battery and still have those same issues?
53k USD?
Had this traverse for two years and we liked it - and was a better fit than the tahoe - but wasn’t such a memorable car. Unlike our prior car the grand Cherokee. We still talk and actively miss the Jeep. The whistling he mentions is a real thing and annoying.
I miss zach's review :( bring him back
It actually seems pretty nice, Chevy's commercial for it was severely uninformative.
Me too👍✌ 2019.. Yeah... all black baby... and tinted windows... What...
I think I am going to go with the Traverse. I was considering the Explorer but I don't want everyone I get behind to slam on their brakes thinking I'm a cop.
for that just leave yourself more room when behind someone
I look at the Explorer and to tell you honestly, it isn't all that great in terms of features and comfort for all your passengers. The only thing I see in that explorer is the driver seat and the HP. The rest is just NoT there. For that money, I go for the 2nd gen traverse. The ease of getting in and out and the cargo space on the traverse is the better buy for its value.
