Somebody has always been one if my favorites from the start. I was dumbfounded with the beginning verse, didn’t think it was him. Then I was surprised when he sang it live. He is really something. So good.
Your reaction was exactly the same as mine, except I stopped the song and went looking to see if Jungkook did a collab with someone I didn't know about. I loved the element of surprise. His vocal range is just getting better and better. You at 1.07 is just magical. I do this every time.

This song is another deep one, that stays on repeat. Here's my take: Think this is mixture of two relationships.. The romantic one with her and the relationships within the group. Based on the lyrics, He's trying to came to terms "that the romantic relationship is over." In fact he believes the signs of it being over has been there for awhile "they've been merely going through the motions" But, the lyric about "winter and summer". makes me think about a few lyrics in the song Too Sad To Dance, where he says he didn't receive a Christmas gift "winter" How something happened between him and his friends "summer" Thing got so bad "hot" it caused him feel like no one loved him..etc.. How they wouldn't even except his apology, leading him to eventually reach out to his father. After speaking with his father in the song Too Sad To Dance, who told him "he didn't need romance, he could walk alone and didn't need no one to dance". So now he's able to say in the song Somebody.. "I hope you find that somebody... I hope you know that somebody ain't me". Not sure if its related but getting the feeling Somebody is about the period of time he was singing about in Too Sad To Dance. Also, I've seen videos and comments about a time when the group almost broke up or thought they weren't going to recover from the global 2019-2021 shut down period. OMG!!! It was truly hard for everyone during that time.

Everyone seems to be omitting 7 clean but i think its an important piece to factor in. 7 explicit is the lust stage with high emotion. But 7 clean is a wrap up. They go through sooo much and get through it at the end.
This is what I keep saying, Golden is the story of true Love. At the beginning it is the desire for possession, comes passion then the discovery of feelings and attachment but as in any relationship there are problems, tears, falling apart but which ends with reconciliation. True Love never dies it will always find its way to come back even stronger. this is the reason why JK put Seven "clean version" at the end of the Album. Jungkook is a genius.
I think this I my least favorite.. The unfamiliar sound of his voice, if it's all him, and also.. I feel it's missing ritm, can't catch the vibe... I can't see JK vibing, moving to it I would like to hear from him why this song is on the album... But I get what you say, the beat not for moving, for drunk ones. (Never liked it)
