    Hahaha, this is funny. I was making preparations on jumping from from blender to 3d coat. It makes much sense to compliment blender with 3d coat. Nice pointing that out.

    Honestly, if you're even halfway serious about 3D assset creation in any way, for Games, 3D printing, ANYTHING. you should get 3D coat. I know someone in school for 3D right now, and she uses everything BUT 3D Coat, and im like, WHY?! She even uses Dubstance MODELER?! That thing isnt worth $20 on SALE much less $150! I told her of all it can do, hopefully she looks into it. I know IM happy i did!

    We now have options to choose 3dcoat in our school and we are all confused. I personally have never heard of it. Could you give us maybe a 20 minutes up close overview of 3d coat. I trust your explanantions. They are dope!
    Ive watched alot of 3d explanatory channels. Not close to yours. Am dropping this link into our class group.

      3d coat has its own strength. especially if you want to hand paint your character. the problem is that there is not many tutorials for it, but EVERY IMPORTANT technique you see on other software can be applied in 3d coat. all you need to do is learn its interface and workflow , and you will be fine. zbrush has become too expensive, and blender is clunky. i still prefer zbrush for sculpting, hand paint on substance painter, for the time being.

    I tried 3dCoat for sculpt and discovered that it can be more laggy than Blender. And when it comes to using the reference image ~ in 3dCoat it is very confusing indeed. Actually I failed to sculpt in 3dCoat normally, pity.

      You should try again, because it can DEF handle more than Blender. And even if for some strange reason you cant get it to work, you can still use it for retopo, and Texture painting. Its more than worth its asking price just for those two. But i assure you, it was user error, not the program. When i first had used it, i didnt use it correctly either. I made the resolution too high, Voxels are different.

      What version did you use? In my experience my 3d coat is laggy if I don't activate the license, but I am on linux, once I activate the license it's smooth like butter.

      I think @Yansculpt does very good at that. I just want to give info. We can't all do the same thing right? Sorry if you didn't like it, but that's the best I could offer.

    And in general - in mudbox - can anyone make a great, grandiose work or is it still the privilege of Zbrush or 3d-coat?

    • @Gearsolid

      You can't go wrong with zbrush, 3dcoat is another cheap alternative but with mudbox, it's a bit of work and research to come to a solid conclusion as to whether to fully embrace it. You have to consider maya as well if you want mudbox that's the downside to people who aren't using maya.
      This is a recent video I made comparing Mudbox and ZBrush.

    Blender not a sculpting too? It is way better than Mudbox and is superior to 3dCoat. Sorry. Only Zbrush is better. Another alternative is Nomad Sculpt which is so cheap but very powerful.

    • @jussivalter
      @jussivalter 5 місяців тому +2

      superior to 3dCoat? How, why? I'm a little confused because I completely disagree.

    • @michaelantonio6643
      @michaelantonio6643 5 місяців тому

      @@jussivalter bc Blender is somewhat in the mainstream workflow, well not an industry standard like Maya yet. Blender offers the complete set of tools from modeling, sculpting, UV editing, texturing, rigging, geometry nodes animating and compositing. Very few can match those set of flexibility from other packages. On the other hand, I'd pick 3d coat's texturing (or Textura) superior to Blender.

    • @jussivalter
      @jussivalter 5 місяців тому +1

      @@michaelantonio6643 yes, you're absolutely right that Blender offers a lot of tools and is overall closer to other similar software. but I still don't understand why in practice you consider its tools better than 3dcoat's? that's why I'm a bit confused because I use all of the following in my daily work at the workplace and in my hobbies: maya, cinema4d, 3ds max and blender. but I have licenses for 3d coat precisely because it does many things much better than the software just mentioned. What does 3d coat do better and why does it complement other software packages? here are a few examples: UV mapping, Retopo, painting and sculpting. 3d coat really offers the best tools and workflows for exactly those tasks (zbrush would be even better for sculpting in many aspects, not all aspects). That's why I'm a little confused.

      For sculpting? I disagree, I have used both and I can't find anything blender can do better than 3Dcoat (for sculpting.) But I do agree that ZBrush is the best.
