That is insane. I can remember a few jumps that i saw in TV Back than , that was awesome. Travis is was and wil ever BE my Hero and an inspiration for me. I cant wait to have birthday to Tell my wife to buy me Pic with an original Signature from Travis. Awesome Video !❤
Not going to lie, travis' double backflip was an inspiration to me in a way that I'd never known before. that i had something more to give than i know. I went into basic training for the air force in December 2006 knowing that if Travis could do a double backflip on a dirtbike, I could make it through basic training. I realized early on humanity is capable of beyond extraordinary things if we allow ourselves to do so. But thats the thing we need to allow ourselves to do the extraordinary things to stand out and prove that us simple folk can do more than whats expected of from all of us. Travis took the most uncomfortable path that was available but became comfortable with that parh. Such an amazing human being and inspiration to many.
Deegan, Metzger, Lusk, even Twitch had to overcome risk and fear to perform the groundbreaking stunts they attempted in the beginning of what became freestyle motocross. Travis showed up following their leads. Risk and fear never seemed to cross his mind. He came with a vision of the impossible and seemed fueled by an addiction to the adrenilin rush that came with it. You look at any of the extreme sports that grew out of the 90's and still continue to this day, athletes from the beginning till this day are driven by competition. Travis always seems to be more driven by chasing the adrenaline rush more than any other. Could you imagine being his parents in the beginning?
Of course Travis has fear....those that say they have no fear are either lying, or they're dead. I ride freestyle after realizing racing wasn't going to work out and didnt want a regular job..Fear is very important if you want to stay alive and have any sort of longevity to your career...and while there's always nerves when trying something for the first time to dirt, it comes down to preparation meets opportunity, combined with calculated risk and knowing/accepting the potential consequences if it goes wrong. He doesn't just huck himself into oblivion and hope for the best...
9:05 That's the best description of that moment that I've ever heard. That double backflip; literally everyone was cheering for the lumberjack on that yellow bike.
Long live idol! Happy to meet the champ after 15 years last weekend at Goodwood. Wish I could visit the Pastrana compound as well one day 😊
