There are a couple of genetic eye diseases which could cause a whole family to literally have eye diseases. A typical one is Retinitis Pigmentosa (more common in males than femsles). Based on the girl's account, the Retinitis Pigmentosa is more likely which happens when people have difficulty seeing at night!
There are other eye diseases too which could result in situations like this.
My suggestion is that they should see an optometrist or an ophthalmologist for proper evaluation. Public hospital is the go to place!
One of them is seeing a white optometrist checked them and said even the blind guy’s eyes looks better than his own. This is a spiritual thing
@@ashardeashley3599 not every white clinician visiting Ghana or any other African country is a practising clinician. Some are actually student clinicians still learning.
That said, there are excellent Ghanaian optometrists and specialist ophthalmologists who can do a fantastic job! They just need another thorough ocular examination.
Note: Pxs can misquote their clinicians based on what they think they hear during explanation of their cases to them. So not all pxs' accounts can be trusted!

I know that some types of blindness are INHERITED, recessive genes passed on from parents to offspring or children. The Awuku "children" may be a case in point! Why don't you talk with our Ghanaian Ophthalmology Doctors. They can tell us more.
Another condition is DEAF-MUTISM in some families. Let's learn !

This is definitely a genetic condition . It root from the parents . I watched I documentary similar to this about a family in Australia. Mom and Dad had a rare mutated gene that caused that disease in children when they get to a particular age . If only they were outside Ghana the cause would have been known easily or a solution would have been found .
