Can you please make me a puppet? Sadly, I live in the UK, but can you at least show me I'll tell you why I want him to look like blonde hair and superhero top
I watched your videos years ago to learn how to make puppets and since then I have made dozens of puppets to donate to children undergoing long-term treatment in hospitals, and to kids in counseling in need of a friend to talk to. The puppets have helped many kids get through difficult times. Thank You.
The originals of these videos were incredibly helpful. So nice to see a recut/remastered sort of release now. Feels strange without that music looping!
I really appreciate you suggesting people practice on the free ones before buying a paid pattern. Good way to ensure people don’t get discouraged by taking on more than they are ready for right away. Also: grating Monster Clay is a great idea to condition it into a sculpt-able softness. :)
I am amazed at your generosity in sharing your process for making a puppet. Your skill at communication your process was a joy to watch. I found you on Reddit while searching for information on carving a marionette. Now I need to make a puppet. I wish you success on your healing journey.
Hihi! Back in May of '21 your original "make a muppet" clips helped me make my first muppet-esque puppets. I was taking a wee jaunt down instagram memory lane, looking at the things I had made and done in the Lockdown times, and to my chagrin, had NO idea of the life rollercoaster you had subsequently found yourself on! (Frickety Frickin' Frack, matey. Glad You Are Here!) Anyhoo, heck yes. Excellent guide to making Muppets. Go do the thing, random stranger! Do it more than once. A person can do a lot in a weekend with some foam, felt, and an inspirational series of muppet-making videos. Trust me. Better yet, trust Adam!! So thanks again. I still haul out the smaller one for giving 'unsolicited puppet opinions' to friends. He's a wee shite, and I wouldn't have had him without your help. Bestest wishes to you and your fam.
I just watched Arlo's video from a few months ago who mentioned you & your channel & your health issue. My heart sank knowing that your channel may have gone dormant in the time since his video, but i'm so pleased to see that you're still uploading! In another life (where i have disposable income) I would LOVE to have a puppet made by you. Thanks for being such a positive influence on the platform, and thanks for giving me the opportunity to reflect. Take care mate, I wish you all the best! I'll be tuning in to your channel regularly from now on :)
I’m making a puppet for my Ap Art class. I’ve always been interested in puppets and the general concept of live props and bringing characters to life. Basically I’ve never made anything quite like this before and I’m choosing this as my final project and getting out of my comfort zone and this channel is helping me so much
Hi adam, you've really inspired me since i was in middle school, ive wanted to make puppets but this art seemed so unattainable, but your videos showed me that puppet making and puppeteering is incredibly approachable. I've made a puppet for myself and im currently working on one for my little sisters birthday. Thank you!❤❤ I hope you make a full recovery❤
Adam, thanks for sharing the joy of puppetry with us. Your enthusiasm is contagious... Thinking of you and your family as you gain strength each day. Angels are with you. The best is yet to be.
Such a great series! Thank you for the wonderful tutorials on puppet making, you are a talented creator and we are so lucky for you sharing your experiences and knowledge with the world. I appreciate it so much. ♥
Adam, I don't know if you'll see this comment, but I want to say, as someone who loves puppetry and teaching, you're a huge inspiration to me! I'm nearing the end of my degree in elementary education, and I remember my first-grade teacher, like you, also incorporated puppets in the classroom, and I can't wait to do the same! I am planning on making a live-hand puppet, similar to Oscar the Grouch or Trekkie. Still working out the details on how to make the body and arms for a puppet so wide and hairy haha Wishing you the best, Jordan McGuire Edit* I just found your video, "How to Make A Live Hand Sack Puppet! Big Mack Pattern!" It's exactly what I've been looking for!
I'm so glad to see an upload from you. I hope that you've recovered somewhat from that awful seizure a month ago. Thinking of you and rooting for your recovery! You can do this!
I wish that was the case. He's still in need of a lot of our prayers with his health. This is video from like 6-7 years ago. He's such a warrior though and I'm confident he's trying in all of his strength to get back to this point, for we all know how much he lives for making puppets and bringing us along to nerd out with him.
Thanks for the help! About to shoot some videos for a new project… inspired by my creative hero Jim Henson! Can’t wait to dive into making some puppets! Your channel rocks!
It's so interesting watching this as an ex-fursuit maker. You might want to watch some videos on that process because the processes are very similar and I think you might be able to shave off a few steps in your process that are "unnecessary".
I am always fascinated by the overlapping skills and techniques between different creative paths and areas. I enjoy watching all sorts of creators, builders, makers, crafters, artists do their amazing work and its a joy to see the similarities and differences in approaches.
Hey there! Does anyone know where we can find the patterns he mentions throughout the video? The website is down and I can't seem to access any of it :(
This is so, so helpful. Thank you so much. Do you have any ideas on how to make this process more sustainable? (ex: how to find secondhand materials, eco-conscious/alternative materials, material recycling/saving/reuse etc)
How much antron/nylon fleece and foam sheets do you recommend getting for a single project? I don’t want to buy too much that won’t get used, but I want to have enough in case I make a mistake. That, and I want to set an ideal budget to how much I should consider for the project.
When making the mouth plate for a puppet design, how far of your hand should fit into the mouth? I recently had a custom puppet made and the guy who did it didn't ask enough questions and when I got the final design, I couldn't even fit my arm up into the head. Once he fixed that, then I also realized that my hand would only fit about 2 knuckles of my hand into the mouth piece which made it nearly impossible for me to operate. So, here I am after paying a hefty amount for a custom one, and not happy with the results, or the puppet, and now figuring out how to design my own since I'm going to be using said puppet for my Podcast and had to wait all this time to get a defective custom one that I can't use or fix.
Sorta related, but most likely off-topic. ( I did not watch the video, but I enjoy watching you work.) How would you make a frog tongue made out of fabric that recoils when not in use? I know there are paper-made ones, but that can't work because I want to make the frog washable and durable so the critter can have a longer life. And many options are not transferable from paper to fabric, or ones that I can think of anyway. I thought some air pump-to-tube system might work, and this is not a novel idea, but I can't seem to find anything durable that would roll up like that dang roll-up paper party favour whistle. Slap bracelets may do, but they won't recoil back into the critter. For context, I make crochet soft toys for kids, and I am interested in creating a small device that, when squeezed, the tongue pops out. So it's got to be safe. Thanks in advance if you decide to discuss this further and share your ideas, any references or resources to help me on my quest. Or consider helping more of us make a video about it so others don't need to look at one more stinking paper frog or puppet with no tongue action. Why do I feel like I am reinventing the wheel here?

Hello, I didn't know how to contact you, so I'm giving you a little comment. For my stories that I tell with "Fréquence Interdite", I would eventually like to design a slightly frightening puppet which, like Crypte Show did at the time, will help me tell my stories in a new way.
