pardon my question, im new to checkers.. if black reaches the opponent side with none of its checks killed..hw wud he make a king? cud a lone piece act like a king or we sit on opposite side till a piece get killed to stack up and make a king?

There are many variants of checkers, but as far as I know, most of them apply the rule of forced capture.
