    Okay, he hung himself then fell. But who bought the land? Matthews said the priests AFTER Judas hung himself and Acts says Judas purchased the land then fell. So who bought it?

    • @CaveToTheCrossApologetics
      @CaveToTheCrossApologetics  3 роки тому +2

      Yep, it is both because of the "possessor" of the money.
      It was Judas' money, and it was the priests who used the money he returned to them to buy the field. They bought the field because they could not accept blood money and return it to the temple treasury. Which is ironic since it was their blood money they paid Judas and shows the further hypocrisy of the priests. ἐκτήσατο (purchase) means merely that the field was purchased with the money of Judas.

    He did both, he hung himself and then fell and then he went and acquired some land with the money he threw back into the temple before he hung himself and fell headfirst to his death.
    The Bible did not say:
    - The rope broke
    - There was a strong wind
    - He hung himself over a cliff
    - His body was swollen
    - The land was acquired posthumously

      Bro read Matthew 27:5
      Then acts 1:18
      Are you high on wine or something
      It can’t be both
      How do you hung your self and at the same time fall well running

      @@muslimempirestudentofknowl8650 I am high on wine. And that's how I know that a dead man can't buy land. 😂 I'm saying the same thing you're saying, How is it he fell headfirst from hanging by his neck??? They're trying to come up with all these ridiculous rationalizations that aren't in the Bible.

    Seems like a lot of work to try and explain it away. Is the Bible really meant to be that difficult to understand?

      Not really. Just have to read it fairly like you would expect any book or any story you've written.

      He didn't buy it. The Jewish leaders couldn't accept it back as it was blood money (the irony was lost on them) and so they field was bought for the burial of the poor.

    Please explain how does he fall HEADLONG after hanging. And please explain why doesn't the Bible say it clearly? Why make the Bible seem like every other human made Holy Book with mistakes? Because if we are honest, this type of explaining can be used for every other book too but you would not be very impressed with those explanations of contradictions for other religions.

    • @CaveToTheCrossApologetics
      @CaveToTheCrossApologetics  2 роки тому

      You already do that for every book. Just sometimes you run into actual contradictions because the author got it wrong. And you fall because the rope breaks.

      @@CaveToTheCrossApologetics for the last 8 years i have tried to become a christian but i just cannot trust the Bible. It seems like all the apologetics are just trying to deceive themselves because they want it to be true rather than it actually being true. If the Holy Spirit cannot even clearly explain the death of Judas without creating a confusing narrative that we have to use mental gymnastics for, then how can i trust the Holy Spirit for something more advanced?

    • @CaveToTheCrossApologetics
      @CaveToTheCrossApologetics  2 роки тому

      Again, hermeneutics is something every historian and literature scholar does. The death of Judas is pretty easy to explain as the two moments are just that - two. Critics of the Bible will say that the Gospel authors conspired to copy their stories and lied about witnessing what they did. Then why not lie the same? The testimony about Judas is pretty clear in all 4 Gospels. This is an odd thing to get hung up on as it's not a contradiction (A, and not A).

      @@CaveToTheCrossApologetics there is no implication about the other part of the thing in either of the stories and the reconciliation of these stories is very hard to believe. Why not mention that he fell from the rope? How does someone fall HEADLONG after hanging? If the rope breaks, you won't likely fall HEADLONG. It is not impossible but very very unlikely. Why doesn't the Holy Spirit explain to the writers how to write it in a way that won't create confusion? I am not just trying to find a problem, quite the opposite, i am trying desperately to find explanation to the biblical contradictions but there are not very good answers to them. The Bible seems like a very weak book that needs apologetics because G
      Holy Spirit can't write in an impressive and clear manner.

    • @CaveToTheCrossApologetics

      The authors of the NT didn't write in your 21st century Western way or in legal fashion where they had unlimited space or paper that we enjoy today. And given the holly terrain of the land and the Greek suggests he either fell headlong, landed headlong, or fell and landed headlong allows for that event to take place. This wasn't an issue for really anyone in the early church or critics at the time who were looking to destroy Christianity by sword or by scholar.
