The Patriots NEED to make Vrabel the GM of the team if they’re not going to just name Eliot Wolf. Every day is a waste for them and if he’s not going to be a coach the Pats need him at Gm
Mike McD is the new standard for NFL coaches, size wise. That way the owners know they can take him (or her), should it come to fisticuffs. This league is hilarious.
It was probably Miami's GM that made the comment. We all thought Mike McDaniels got his job because he was seen as an "offensive guru," it turns out he got it because he is not scary at all.
Vrabel is a good coach, but in an intangible way. He's a former defensive player, but he's not really a DC. He's definitely not an OC. So he gets branded as a "defensive minded" coach. He is an awesome leader, however. And if you pair him with a good DC and OC, they will go places. He's just had crappy OC's during his time at Tennessee (don't get me started on Arthur Smith again. That guy is no offensive guru).
Sounds like GMs are scared to butt heads with the guy… The new Tennessee GM prob the one telling everyone he’s a problem… We know they at least had some pretty significant disagreements.. he’s a defensive guy too so that’s already a issue and the Tennessee offense prob isn’t what other teams are looking for.. not that he was the one necessarily making all of the decisions there..
Fisher had an MVP at QB. Vrabel had Mariota, Tannehill and will Levis. Not saying that you are inaccurate but with a lot of these coaches, they just need a QB.
Jeff Fischer won coach of the year two years ago? When did JF get a team to a #1 seed with a QB as bad as Mariota or Tannehill? Mike's not getting picked up bc his scheme isn't as flashy as others.
@@say5070Tannehill is a good QB though. He showed it in flashes in Miami with a subpar squad, and he showed it in Tennessee. Vrabel is just a mid HC who couldn’t capitalize on it because he’s defense-coombrained.
@@kman9884 Bruh, Im a Tannehill supporter and I agree with most of what you said. I remember people running him out of Miami and when he got traded I said Mariota better tighten up because Tannehill is gonna take his job. But Tannehill is pretty much above average. The team helped Tannehill by de-emphasizing him. And 3 playoff appearances in 6 yrs is better than mid. 6-0 after a bye means the coaching accounts for something. I'm just saying I think he could have gone further with a better QB.
Dan Campbell comes off the same way, difference is he rest his vets and eases his rookies in slowly. Vrabes comes off like he doesn’t treat people fairly, and once you start losing you lose your locker, doesn’t matter what level you’re in, everybody had a coach like that.
@@deezroastedchestnuts189 team success my guy. the team he's coached haven't been great, not bad, but not great enough for owners to feel like they need him

Doesn’t make sense since Dan is the HC of the lions, AP is the HC of the raiders, Ryans the HC of the Texans, Mayo became the coach of the pats…..this report is beyond BS
Omg, a football coach who’s a former player looks like a football player? Just think about how scared all these professional football players will be when they see someone who’s the size of a football player. He’ll walk into the oline room and all those linemen will be quaking. Running backs will be scared just being near someone the size of a linebacker.
…Mike Holmgren. Bill Parcells. Dan Campbell. Mike Ditka. Art Shell. Marty Schottenheimer. Bill Cowher. Andy Reid. John Madden. Forrest Gregg! Brian Billick and Bud Grant were more basketball tall. Chuck Noll wasn’t that big but he made a long career out of fighting Chuck Bednarick and he looks like he brought the good flaying knife when he confronted Granville.
Yet again i'm realizing I would be a better gm/upper management than half of the people in the league. Vrabs made Tannehill the qb of the #1 seed IN THE AFC. He aint getting a job cause he was too hard on players and he's too large!?!?!?! WTF is wrong with this league....
If that's the case, it sounds like that person doesn't need to be in the room NFL people are getting hired. They're all big, and if that intimidates them, they have no business trying to evaluate football talent.
A GM might not want a coach that intimidates them. It's like working over someone and not being able to out intimidate them when you need to. It sounds dumb, because this is football... and that's EXACTLY what you want in a leader. The GM saying that sounds like they want someone like Frank Reich over Mike Vrabel... yikes.
That GM’s name needs to be released and then blackballed from the league. Even letting that ridiculousness come out of his mouth is something that should never come from any type of management position ✌🏼
It's amazing how many Vrabel Stans there are 😂... Go ahead, let your team hire him. Player Development and his coaching staff choices are his biggest issues.
I bet it’s Howie Roseman. As an Eagles fan, it’d be easy to see our GM saying this. Dude doesn’t like the head coaches to have a voice/have that big of a presence.
Unfortunately I found this true, I’m not as big as Vrabel but I was told by someone that people were intimidated by my size. I never was bully but people will try to challenge me to make themselves look good, David vs Goliath syndrome. Also knowing I will be looked at as the perpetrator. I worked on communication skill and emotional intelligence to learn how to deal with passive aggressive people and be myself. There are times that I had to be imposing with some weasels who were getting out of pocket, but being smarter and have a physical presence scares the daylight out of people. Stopping my rant here. This is not the worst thing but want to let folks know that there are people with that ignorant mindset. Best wishes to Coach Vrabel - he will find the ideal job in due time.
What? A former NFL linebacker is large? Say it aint so!
What!?... better alert the church elders

So he’s too physically imposing and intimidating to a higher up that would want to try and enforce power over him
If you couldn’t get a head coaching job based off of size and intimidation then Antonio Pierce would of never been hired. 😂
I think that GM expected former players turned coaches to drop all the muscle or get fat in retirement
The real reason: he's kind of a mid coach. Not that good, not that bad. He's Jeff Fisher without the Super Bowl appearance.
