I have a personal connection to this game. My grandpa and grandma bought it for my 21st birthday and BotW was my first Zelda game, WHAT AN ADVENTURE!!
Since me and my grandma share a birthday together, I spent 4 days with them and my aunt, uncle, cousins, and dad. I gathered them all together after a year it took me to watch me finish the game. After freeing the Divine Beasts, doing all the side quests, shrine quest, and main quest, finding ALL 900 KOROK SEEDS, and completing the DLC, finding the Master Sword, finding every armor set, and finding all the memories, I was ready.
I rode my horse Maximus to Hyrule Castle, me and Max have been together for almost the entire time I have been playing the game, and he was a loyal steed. I managed to get up to Hyrule Castle and beat Ganon! Then the Dark Beast Ganon, it was an easy fight but GOSH DANG IT WAS IT EPIC!! I got applause from my family, and it was one of the best moments of my life that I will never forget.
Now for the sad part, around December of 2020, my grandparents were diagnosed with covid-19, my grandpa made it out, but in January 2021 my grandma passed away. My parents say that she never did drugs, drank, or smoked, they all say she was an amazing woman. I'm happy for everything she's done for me in my life, and I'm just happy I got to spend time with her.
Now whenever I play BOTW, whenever I hear a Zelda's voice, I often think it's my grandma speaking to me, so now I have an extremely personal connection to this game. At least she got to see me finish what she had me start...

Also I just realized that Daruk’s theme’s melody is 90% just 5ths, which are the strongest interval. The chords and soft arrangement don’t back it though, so it comes off very gentle and I love it ahhh

When I beat this game in... June, I think... I didn't feel like I had just beaten any ordinary game. No, this was something much MUCH grander. It felt like I had truly become a hero. I faced difficult challenges, I defeated vicious adversaries, and against all odds, I had done something... I saved the world. Even as I type this, I feel the unrelenting urge to cry tears of... Joy? Love? Triumph? Sorrow? No... All of it. Thank you, Nintendo... You made me a hero.

Despite what some critics may say about this game and how the story is lacking in some areas, I don't see really any problems with this game. I love massive adventure games like this, and this game has a special place in my heart because I haven't felt such an adventurous spirit since I played Super Mario Galaxy!!

Everyone seemed to hate the Dark Beast Ganon fight. I didn’t. It wasn’t hard, and it was inappropriately easy, but it was essentially a playable cutscene. Games like Undertale and the Asriel fight or Pokemon XY with the Lysandre battle have the same thing.

Your point is right but after all that preparation and hype it's just ass to be like "i didn't even use all my ancient arrows wth it's already over?"
This would've all been fine if you had to fight all blights as a part of the final battle (like you would if you didn't do the divine beast quests). Idk who said it but this dude said to fix the final battle you literally just have to flip the battles around, give the unsatisfying battle with half health ganon to the players with 3 hearts and give the awesome boss rush to those who completed the main quests.

Honestly one of my favorite fights just because of the feel to it if that makes sense. I got very emersed in the story of the game while I was playing through it and this fight was the topping on the cake because I really felt like I was defending Hyrule and saving Zelda. Maybe I got a little too invested lol

But I count it if I own it), A Link to the Past (Yes, I realize I've missed out on the Hyrule Castle variation), I'm stuck on Dragon Roost Island in Wind Waker HD and I'm still goat hunting in Twilight Princess HD. This was a very good game, arguably the best in the series. My only gripe was the lack of variety in enemies and bosses. Most of the enemies were just different variants of each other. And all of the major bosses, while they looked really cool at first, look exactly the same, only difference being choice of weapon. There was also a surprising lack of more memorable enemies such as redeads or darknuts. If it were up to me, rather than the bosses we have now, I would have chosen to have older memorable bosses like King Dodongo or Gohma corrupted by malice. Even with these gripes though, the game was still epic.

I remember when I got this game for my 21st birthday from my grandma. She and my grandpa bought it for me, and it was my first ever Zelda game. It took me an entire year from start to finish, I remember looking out onto Hyrule and hearing such a beautiful opening song, and about a year later on my 22nd birthday, I spent it with my grandparents, aunt and uncle, cousins, and my dad. Me and my grandma share the same birthday, so I spent 4 days with everyone for our special day. I brought my Switch and since I finished both the ENTIRE game and the DLC before the final fight with Ganon, I gathered everyone together to watch me save Hyrule. I fought both Ganon and Dark Beast Ganon with great applause at the end, and it's something I'll never forget, just like this song that basically says, "Thank you for saving Hyrule, for saving Zelda."
Now for the emotional part... Little did I know, just a few short weeks later after Christmas 2020, my grandparents were in the hospital with Covid. My grandpa made it through... But my grandma passed away on New Years Eve... Every time I play Breath of the Wild now, any time I hear Zelda's voice, I think and remember my grandma and how she cared about and loved so much... I'm grateful for everything she's done for me in my 22 years on this planet... And I know I'll see her again one day, and I will always remember her...
At least she got to see me finish the game she bought for me...

Guys I finally figured it out. I always wondered why the Champion themes were in the order they were. Until one day it clicked with me. It’s based off of Link’s relationships with them, not the order in which you do the Devine Beasts. Daruk was Link’s best friend, Mipha was his most dear friend, Urbosa was a valuable comrade and offered wisdom where he had none, and Revali was his rival. It’s in the order Link was closest to them.
And with Tears of the Kingdom making it so clear that they’re now using the Main Theme of The Legend Of Zelda as to represent Link and serve as his theme, I now see this song as Link’s answer to Zelda.
    “Do you really remember me?”
Yes. That little piano solo of his theme plays after those words. Even if the player hasn’t completed the memories quest, Link will remember enough, and eventually will, with the Princess’ help. Then, it goes through everyone’s themes. The Sheikah and Impa, Daruk, Mipha, Urbosa, Revali, then finally, he remembers the struggle they all went through together. That’s why in this version of the main theme, there’s no pause in the music, because he’s pieced his life back together. And finally, Zelda’s lullaby. Yes. He remembers her.
And when you collect all the memories, what do you hear? A victory fanfare of Link’s theme, finally able to see the kingdom safe, and the princess smile again.

    • @joypink5599
      @joypink5599 7 місяців тому +2

For those interested in a little fact. The notes that are left on the Sheikah Slate for quests? Those are written in first person in Japanese, meaning they serve Link’s little journal and even have a few of his own thoughts on some things.
One of the things that he expresses in the final entry for the completed memories quest is this (translated from Japanese, so maybe a little strange wording):
“Even if it’s just a moment sooner, I want to save her as quickly as possible.
I want to see her smile again, with these eyes of my own.”
And with all of the memories what is the last thing you see in Breath of the Wild? Zelda showing her biggest and brightest smile, after saying she is no longer burdened by her power.
      He’s dreams: realized.
      This is a beautiful game.

Man, I love this game so much. It wasn’t until 2020 when I started playing it, but before I had heard people talk about it, i was interested and started playing. Immediately, i was hooked! I would play for hours, nonstop, just exploring, doing quests, anything. I fell inlove with it, i couldn’t stop playing. However, I rushed the shit out of it 😭😭 i beat it within 2 months, and did all my main quests too fast, and I have to say I regret it. BotW is truly one of those games where you have to take your time for the best experience, but I didn’t! I rushed through everything too fast, i didn’t take the time to enjoy this game as much as i should’ve. But even then, i still love it with all my heart. It brought comfort when I was in a bad place, and listening back to the music brings even more comfort. I’d do anything to play this game for the first time again!! As of right now, i am replaying the entire game, no rushing, no guides, etc. I can’t wait to re-experience everything again! I am excited to be able to enjoy this game to the fullest, and listen back to all the fantastic music :)
