This is oddly...relaxing. No big story, no breaking headline. Just nature.
They do this every Sunday.
Not oddly, but perfectly. Those little guys are cuter than a bowl of puppies in chocolate sauce!
As all of the nature segments are meant to be. All so beautiful 💛
The thing that is odd is you commenting that it is odd.
Nature and observing is it is very relaxing!!
Most peaceful 3 minuets of the day ! Just beautiful !THANKS !
Thank goodness for UA-cam. This segment was literally only 20 seconds on the TV newscast.
I was thinking the same thing! More moments of silence, less commercials.
I know!! It’s a crime
Sad that CBS cut back the nature segment gradually year by year. Happy for even this bit!
If we had otters in South Texas, you couldn't drag me away from them. I'd be there every free minute, watching and laughing.
I am just finding this video. I’m with you about watching them. I was trying to put a bead trying to photograph them. When I was literally figure eighting. I broke out in laughter. I was envisioning a cartoon like scene with the fish feverishly trying to escape under the surface…. Then GULP.
I have always loved the nature segments. This is a nice respite from the constant noise and strife.
(2:15) watching that otter emerge from the icy water with a fish in its mouth is pretty dramatic.
Beautifully edited: starts with an otter emerging from its hole on the river bank. Ends with the otter returning home.
You _otter_ know!
I love this beautiful otter nature seen with water lapping in the background. I could swear the otters posed for the camera a couple of times. 😁😎😷🙋♀️
I live in Portland, Maine. Same neighborhood where you can go see these guys as a matter of fact. These otters moved into the ponds of a local cemetery earlier in the winter. Was big local news at the time.
I'm from Montana and miss when the news was "innocent" like that. Back before Kalispell MT became a scene for Drugs, the local radio show would read off police reports "Martha reported a skunk in the Henhouse"
Now it's starting to sound like LA "Shooting on Main Street"
Evergreen on Stevens Ave?? That's right up the street from us!
@@rwilsbach9206 Go check it out if you haven't yet.
@@ZachBoyce I did look it up online and was astounded! I plan to go see for myself soon. Several years ago I missed seeing the moose that came up our street and right past our house on it's way to the cemetery. I know the moose won't still be there but now I can see otters!
So adorable 🥰 🦦
Precious part of our world❤️❤️❤️
I love the nature segment. Awesome
After the otter's bathing, preening and snacking; it was fun to see the pair enjoying each other's company.
Nature.... she's the best. Otters getting their nom noms... yum!
Maine is the most beautiful state in the union
I love these otters. Thank you Mauricio Handler for making me smile.
This put a smile on my face...they are so damn adorable!💜 Thank you CBS Sunday Morning for these nature clips! Please don't ever stop!
So beautiful. How cute they are! Thank you!
Great movie, I liked it very much. Greetings from the forest! :))
Otters are amazing creatures, so hearty and fun to watch. Great video
Wish they would show the whole clip on Sunday Morning, but have to come to UA-cam to see it.
I guess we should just be glad we can see the extended version somewhere.
It’s assumed that these two traveled from Fore River Estuary through the marshes and small creeks to Evergreen cemetery. These two ravaged two small ponds feasting on fish and eventually frogs and eels. They were a delight to watch. We were lucky to have Mauricio come to our rare pair of pure enjoyment. He captured them very well. When I met Mauricio. It was lightly snowing on a thin coating of ice. As you looked on the pond, you could see the spring spots. Where the snow melts. Then the magic happened. Pop Goes The Otter. It was like Whack A Mole Only watching wondering which hole will they pop up. It was a memorable event. They had a great run, but sadly people were tossing Salmon on the ice and allegedly the Game Wardens had to relocate the pair. They were a joy and so far this year no otters.
Thanks for these peaceful moments.
Beautiful!
Crazy they can stay warm after being in and out of the water. Good metabolism
Incredibly dense fur helps; it's two layers. 🙂
A great kindness envelopes them
A welcome relief to watch
Omg they are so joyful. I love the little cubby ears thank you
Cute critters!
Extreme Ice Fishing 🐟
Absolutely lovely
I live on the "Downeast" coast of Maine,a tiny town called Brooklin and I`ve got a female(I assume) otter with her 2 youngsters, very cozily(if that`s even a word),living under my little 10`x 12` shed....she`s been using it for a couple years now and I notice she`ll get to her den at the same time everyday, she`ll bring the kids outside for 10 minutes or so,to play, etc.,and then bring them back in,and somehow makes them stay there while she leaves before dusk...I`ve got no idea if she comes back during the night, but I do notice that the kids stay under the shed when she`s away.....I didn`t even know we had otters around here, til 1 day,I saw movement, thinking it was a squirrel, and, then thought it was a fisher, but no,the ears and definitely the tail gave it away....amazing.......
Thank you so much.
Beavers and Otters nature's waterway industrialists, flood controllers and irrigation monitors. Not a botanist/biologist, just an observer that respects.
So cute but looks so cold
0:00 When our trumpet sounds again next week we'll have a Sunday Profile with actor Will Smith
We leave you this morning on the beaches of Maine where otters are hunting for fish
3:09 I'm Alex Wells please join Jane Pauley when our 🎺 sounds again next Sunday Morning
Agreed ✅
Great footage - Hooray! to the filmography/photographer.
Otter are an elusive species, distant cousin to the infamous Fischer Cat, who chases the squirrel from tree limb to tree limb exhausting the poor critter out until - well, you know what happens next. Anyhow, there are otters that live in Oakwood Cemetery, Troy NY and the Native Americans have designated Otter as Shaman, among a host of other animal spirits. 😍
Otter's in frigid water, like seals !
Do Otters look cute on backs floating while clamming on table top bellies?
Why did #cbssundaymorning NOT SHOW THIS WHOLE video? They showed about 30 seconds! I’d rather see this than some of the crap they showed!!!
Freshwater sushi in ice water and naked! Don’t try this at home.
Fun fact : in Ukraine every minute passes in 60 seconds
Beautiful. Seeing them hunting was a special treat. I ❤️ otters
