I missed out on that one but I bought a Hessian picklehaubes from you along with a ww2 NCO katana which I can't stop picking up look forward to coming down to tavistock again soon.
A) Pickelhaube ( pickaxehood) was in Germany never an official term.B) In case of this metal ones , usually steel, rarer tombac, only Prussia, Bavaria and Kingdom Saxony had heavy cavallry regiments ( cuirassiers, in Saxony ,heavy riders'), arround 1890 nrw created Jäger zu Pferd ( mounted huners) and palace unit Leibgendarmen.
