Dogs and Cats!

Maggie is protecting Nellie the cat from Willie, who seems to see Nellie as some kind of strange, unhoofed livestock. Willie (and now Skip), like lots of Border Collies, become obsessed with cats, and treat them as if they were to be herded. Maggie, like lots of other BCs, either ignores cats, or in her case, became instantly maternal and protected Nellie from all times at Willie. I love, love her expression, sending daggers to Willie if he gets out of line.

I read that as Steve Martin: "Dogs and cats, living together!" My cat does that same maneuver of pulling herself along the carpet when she wants belly rubs. First cat I've ever had who liked belly rubs!
