Sorry, I am confused, is this model compatible with the small S9? Because, in their web page says that is only for the S9+... Is that a mistake in the description?
I was hoping this case would work out for me since it seemed like it had a lot of potential . I have this newest version (purchased less than a week ago) and I personally don't think it's worth the money. The magnets are strong but not enough to withstand a good knock, especially when you consider that there is no additional protection. The touch pad in this version is still subpar and cheap looking in person. It was hit or miss at best when it came to scrolling and browsing, depending on the sit and the desired functionality. The backlights are not very bright - even when turned up all the way. They backlights turn off until you use them - meaning you'll need to touch a key to activate it. There is no 'sleep' mode when open that I could tell - correct me if I'm wrong. There's also no place to put the pen inside and the external strap is not very secure. If you have an extra $100.00 to spend and can overlook these things then go for it, but I'll be sending this back and getting a better Bluetooth keyboard and track pad.
Very nice and informative video. Just bought one last week...and I love it! I have owned numerous cases for my numerous Samsung tablets over the years. This is simply the best case I've ever owned...by far!
You've no idea how much i appreciated this review i thought the only upgrade was the back cut out for the Pen, as i have the old version the scrolling is the worst part of the track pad so i'll definitely upgrade .
Currently typing this with my Dexnor keyboard, this is heavy! But feels solid and gives a better height and bends more degrees than Doqo. Also, I am skeptical with the touchpad though. I wish Doqo bended more.

are the keys a slight different shade of white compared to the case like it is in the video and other photos i've seen, or is it not noticable in person? looking to get the white case, but would rather get the black if the white has keys that are yellowish
It is a slight different shade of white on the keys compared to the case, but I must admit I just saw that after seeing this question 🙂 But that's just me... That fact that I just saw "might" indicate that it's not that noticeable. For me anyway...

First of all, let me say that I'm a big fan of your content, you are one of the few content creators that give such in-depth reviews about the products that they use as well as focusing on Android (although I too enjoy your Apple videos) I currently have a tab S7+ an have been eyeing this keyboard for a while, however, I've also been thinking about upgrading since the battery life lately hasn't been great. My question is, do you think this cover is future proof? I'd like to get a S9+ or maybe a S10+ but wouldn't love to have to purchase the same item twice in case they don't fit. And also trying to be some sort of "opposite pole" from all the Apple videos on UA-cam. I watch them as well, and some of them I like. Like the ones from Christoffer Lawley (iPad guru). Usually very interesting stuff on his channel. But your question about the keyboard is not an easy one. The maglev keyboard will work for the S9+, and probably for the S10+ as well. But only Samsung knows if they will do any major changes of the design or not for the Tab S10 line. My plan is to buy the S10+ and replace my S7+ so I hope the maglev keyboard will work 🙂
Hiii, I was wondering if the magnets are strong enough for an additional case on the tablet for protection? have you noticed that your tablet battery goes down faster because the keyboard is Bluetooth? Lastly what kind of charging is on the case (port)? Thank you and great video :-)
Hi there! I haven't tried using the keyboard case with an additional case, but I think it won't work. Mainly because you will a double layer so to say on the back of the tablet (that is attached to the magnets on the Doqo keyboard case)... The battery on the tablet isn't affected that much, not that I've noticed anyway 🙂And the charging port is an usb c.

Is the hinge a fixed screen angle or fully adjustable to multiple angles? I saw someone comment that they didn't like that the doqo was fixed but maybe they were taking about the old version?
It is not flexible enough. I received mine today and will return it tomorrow. Otherwise a great keyboard. No clue what they were thinking gibing it so little adjustment. The viewing angle for it is a no-go, so cannot recommend

😀If you run verrrryyyyyyy slowly then the tablet will stay in place... The keyboard slim cover might have a slight better magnets, but I think that the Doqo keyboard is pretty near...
@@tranminhkhoi6498 You need to apply some sort of pretty forceful pressure if you "want" the tablet to slip 🙂 I can hold the keyboard at it's side and shake a little and the tablet doesn't move at all.
Can you fold the keyboard or tilt the tablet part all the way back for when you want to use it in portrait mode or does this only work in landscape mode?
I don't think they do due to the lack of magnets on the back of the Tab A series... But if you could find some "magnetic tape" of some sort it could work, since you connect to the keyboard via bluetooth.
Does the trackpad on yours have a delay? I compared the Dexnor trackpad to this one, and the Dexnor feels like a laptop trackpad with no latency/delay. The Doqo one for S9+ seems like the cursor lags behind. Is mine possibly defective?
Nope, no lag for me when it comes to the touchpad. It does happen though that when I scroll in any direction, the tablet scrolls in the opposite way. Usually on my Tab S7+ so perhaps it's has to do with the bluetooth connectivity on that one... Or the touchpad it self...
It's not that sensitive. I didn't like it. I have a Tab s9+ and purchased the device for that model. I had issues, depending on the site and scrolling, selecting functionality. I found it frustrating to try to do something, fail and have to revert to touching the screen. Possibly trying the Dexnor next.
One of the main uses for my tab s8 is to actually make written notes, in which case i will open the case all the way and fold it flat to the back. Is this possible with the Maglev? I'm afraid it isn't..
If you mean charging the s-pen, then yes that works with this case. Due to the large cutout on the back of the case. But the old version of the case will not charge the s-pen, due to the not so very large cutout on the back of the case.
@mattiasanderssonSWE i meant drawing with the spen. Older cases had magnets that would corrupt the emr of the pen, so every time you would draw with a magnetic case, there would be skips in mid drawing or writing where the magnets were placed. I was just wondering if the same issues occur.

Not that I've seen. And I think a ultra version of the Doqo Maglev Keyboard would be quite heavy (due to the size and weight of the s9 ultra, the keyboard base needs be heavy or everything will tip over). But it would be nice if Doqo could figure out how to make a version for the Samsung ultra tablets 🙂

It is using bluetooth to connect to the tablet so it can be somewhat tricky sometimes. For instance it happens that when scrolling on a webpage, it scrolls in the opposite way, If that beacuse I managed to touch the touchpad in the "wrong" way, I don't know... I've tried the old version of the maglev keyboard from Doqo as well (the one with a very small cutout for the camera on the back - and I've made a video about that one) and this new version is way better when using the trackpad. I don't know if there is a newer version of bluetooth in these maglev keyboards but they work much better then the old version.

The S pen can charge without any problems when using the Maglev keyboard. However, the old version did not have that cutout on the back. The one Doqo sells now works 🙂 The typing experience is decent, I think. I've never used the Apple Magic keyboard so I don't know how that on is, but I've used the Samsung Book cover keyboard (both slim and regular). And I think Samsung and Doqo are on par. Maybe with a slight advantage for the Doqo one due to longer key travel (by a mm or so)... My main concern with the Samsung keyboard is that I can't use it in my lap (as you say, it's flimsy).
The power button is touch based and is placed in the worst possible place. I constantly turn it off when typing. This problem alone is enough for me to rate the keyboard case below average.
Yepp, the power buttons placement could be better. Or be not as sensitive. I've managed to get used to it so I don't trigger the shut down that much anymore. On the iPad version of the case, the button is placed above the keyboard. A better solution, except when you need to lift the tablet in order to double tap on the button... You win some, you lose some...

@@Nobody-my7kjThe keyboard is compact, and then the power button is annoying. It’s not ideal for any form of major tasks so I got a Logitech k380 that I use with this when I’m working on a desk. My advise is that It’s better than nothing if you’re out and about. I love the case but I hate the keyboard.

I have mixed feelings about it while yes the keyboard feels awesome and compact i hate the trackpad and then when i close the lid it doesn't go to sleep which drives me nuts. Also the material is like a rubbery material which I'm not a big fan of. Is there anything i can do to close the screen when i close the lid?
It might work with the S6 Lite. It looks like the Samsung Book Cover is almost the same as the S9 tablet Book cover... It might not be a perfect fit and I'm not sure how the magnets are on the S6 Lite.
Nice review will just say (which is not your fault / issue): What is it with companies just blatantly copying designs and it’s ok? Some guy spent months coming up with an idea and then some other company just got lazy and copied it (even used the same name) but gets paid for it? 🤷🏽♂️ Maybe I’ll do the same and see how much money I can make 😂.
I've not used the Dexnor keyboard so I don't know. But from what I've seen of the Dexnor keyboard, it looks like to be just a tad steadier. And a little bit more expensive.

It's not a fixed screen angle. I would say that the angle is adjustable, but not as much as I would like.

This is not that kind of a case... It's probably better with a case without a keyboard...

Yes, you can charge the s pen when using this case. Much bettet then the old version of the Doqo keyboard 🙂

No, you can use both the touchpad and the keyboard at the same time.
I am assuming its still magnetic mount so using spen wont really work like mentioned in a comment in another review video

how is the palm rejection? does your hand accidentally activate the touch pad when you type?
The palm rejection for the touch pad is pretty good, but the palm rejection for the on/off button could be better.

Double tap on the power on button (on the right side of the keyboard) and then fn + c to go to pairing mode.

I would say yes on that question. I have not used the new keyboard cover for S9, but the one for S7 Plus and S8 Ultra and gestures are the same.

How do you check battery %?
I use a widget for that. Battery Widget from Lst Apps

tap on the battery and it will blink red three times 75%, twice 50% and one blink is 25% battery, according to the manual.
The power button is touch based and is placed in the worst possible place. I constantly turn it off when typing. This problem alone is enough for me to rate the keyboard case below average.
Yepp, the power buttons placement could be better. Or be not as sensitive.
I've managed to get used to it so I don't trigger the shut down that much anymore.
On the iPad version of the case, the button is placed above the keyboard. A better solution, except when you need to lift the tablet in order to double tap on the button...

@@Nobody-my7kjThe keyboard is compact, and then the power button is annoying. It’s not ideal for any form of major tasks so I got a Logitech k380 that I use with this when I’m working on a desk.
My advise is that It’s better than nothing if you’re out and about. I love the case but I hate the keyboard.
@@kckosara got myself a huwei magic keyboard for my tab s9 instead of this and... I have mixed feelings about it while yes the keyboard feels awesome and compact i hate the trackpad and then when i close the lid it doesn't go to sleep which drives me nuts. Also the material is like a rubbery material which I'm not a big fan of. Is there anything i can do to close the screen when i close the lid?

Can this work in samsung s6 lite?
It might work with the S6 Lite. It looks like the Samsung Book Cover is almost the same as the S9 tablet Book cover...
It might not be a perfect fit and I'm not sure how the magnets are on the S6 Lite.

What is it with companies just blatantly copying designs and it’s ok? Some guy spent months coming up with an idea and then some other company just got lazy and copied it (even used the same name) but gets paid for it? 🤷🏽♂️

Is this any better than the Dexnor keyboard?
I've not used the Dexnor keyboard so I don't know. But from what I've seen of the Dexnor keyboard, it looks like to be just a tad steadier. And a little bit more expensive.
I just learned about this keyboard, but I really hope they make a version for the S8/S9 Ultra.

They won't, because this keyboard company CEO is actually owned by Apple. they manipulated the keys to conform to iOS
