I think she is really a mother! She just don't want Spidey to get to close considering he is a hero. Maybe she's protecting the kid to keep him away from all the shenanigans that comes with being a hero. Like super villains and crime bosses who want a her and Spidey dead.
Remember she only said misdirect not lied about the kid. It could mean he's safe and not in danger. Maybe her faking her death is about her kid.
I liked that theory and judging from how thicc she's now. That could proved it.

Guys. Are you forgetting something she didn't lie, she misdirected him. Meaning that she told him part of the truth and that they really conceived a son who wasn't held hostage.
@Jonathon Banasiak dude she probably does have a son with peter and that is gonna be explored in the next game but that doesn't mean her son was taken by hammer head he could have just been somewhere safe that is why seh faked her death so she could be safe with him
@Jonathon Banasiak She conned him by making him help her. It doesn't prove or disprove the claim that she has a son. To be honest it is quite a strange lie to tell him. Many lies have some truths in them so it is obviously possible that she has a son or daughter but she doesn't want Peter to know.
@Jonathon Banasiak How did I know that you would pull the "You're just as gullible/naive as Peter" again. You are just as predictable as the thugs that Spiderman battle, and wrong. I simply said that that quote you presented does not prove or disprove that she has a child. She conned him because she made him help her in her heist, that's it. She made him believe that he had a son and that he was in danger, which he was not. At least not in immediate danger.
Her entrance in the story is a bit too convenient. She contacts Spiderman just after he has taken down Fisk and the city is up for grabs. Peter is surprised and worried that she is back which means that she has returned to criminal life. A life that he had made her turned away from, or she chose it herself. It is likely that she has been living a normal civilian life for quite a while, maybe years, which explains Peters shock when he realizes that she is back. So why is she back? Why did she go straight? Why did she return to the scene at that specific time? One reason that she went straight could be that she had a child and she wanted to distance him/her from her criminal life. One reason for coming back after Fisks arrest is that her situation were becoming dangerous because or her connections to the underworld, and an underworld that could now do what they wanted.
During the main story she doesn't keep any money, she only steals all those items so she can get back her suit. But in the heist story suddenly she performs this elaborate con on Spiderman and Hammerhead in order to get money, it doesn't make sense.
She also seems completely aware that Hammerhead is out to kill her, aware about the tracker, and aware about the bomb in her apartment. She smiles before the bomb goes off. I think it would make a lot of sense if this was all a plan to protect her child. That is why she came back to criminal life, she had become a target after Fisks arrest and her child was in danger too. She decided to pretend to help Hammerhead in a scheme to cut the ties with the mob forever. And the best way to do that was to fake her death. Faking her death and letting her son grow up normally.
This is foreshadowed by the side mission where you collect art for Fecilias father who also left her, where she believes that he is dead.

And now thanks the face change in the remaster we’re going to have a twenty-something woman telling fifteen-year-old-looking baby smooth Peter that he might be the father of he kid, implying that they smashed. I don’t care if he’s still supposed to be in his twenties, that smooth child face in the remaster is still going to make him talking about his relationships with her and MJ weird to watch.

I think she faked her death to keep her son into hiding besides since she’s an anti hero she wouldn’t be the type to lie about having a child and she said misdirect also since she cares about Peter I think she did that so spidey didn’t have to worry about having a kid especially now that he’s back with MJ
So I think later black cat will return and finally reveal the answer if peter is the father or not but MJ and the con Felicia pulled off on peter are the only instances that there is no child so more of an undetermined not a definite no because the whole main character has. A kid thing seems to significant of a detail to just to brush off as all yeah it was just a ruse also spidey having a kid

I think, it is real. She just not want to make her son in danger.
If it all is a lie and black cat never had a child, then she truly is awful for what she did to Peter here. If it really is a miss direction and she does have a son but still giving Peter the run around on that, she’s still awful. I don’t get why folks wanted this version of black cat with Peter, I mean outside of their own self insert thirstiness.

She only misdirected him. She didn't really lie to him in fact they actually had a kid together in canon in the comics but in the comics the kid they had together was a girl.
If you’re talking about felicity hardy, her father isn’t peter it’s flash.
I think she had the baby, it’s just she doesn’t want Spidey to know because of his superhero actions, plus Spidey clearly freaks out to Black Cat saying that, so they probably did do that, and she only said misdirected. Plus it’s possible Tombstone may have kidnapped the son. And her faking her death means she may be going back to take care of her son more instead of her thief crimes

I don't like the idea of Spider-man knocking Felicia up, it just doesn't feel right for his character, especially with the big theme of great responsibility he has.
Read comics, there are many moments great characters like captain america and iron man have done things that are out of their character, similar with spiderman
Yeah, like the time Peter made a deal with Mephisto, or when Cyclops cheated on Jean with Emma Frost, both of which are things from the comics I hate. It bothers me any time a character I like is written out of character.

That's fine, it's just the way this story presented the idea of him and Felicia having a kid I don't like. Peter has always come off to me as the kind of guy who'd be careful to avoid accidentally getting a woman pregnant, especially someone like Felicia, with the life they live and all that.

I actually wouldn’t have missed Black Cat if she was killed off and wish Felicia Hardy Noir/White Widow appeared in the Ultimate Spider-Man Cartoon Spider-Verse Noir Episode Spider-Verse Part 2 only to be killed off in Return to the Spider-Verse Part 3 instead of that innocent 1930’s Mary Jane Watson
