@@KePolBePol In the short story, it’s his incredible time-warping abilities. In the game, it’s a syrum that Nimdok was helping create during World War II.
I think AM is the most accurate ai villain that represents the future of AI. He has pretty much hit the peak for most AI villains: kill all humans, yet he doesn't want that, he doesn't want some robot utopia. He wants to torture the humans for what they did to him and that's the scary part, he represents a point in AI that is so advanced that it isn't just a machine that has a vague goal due to mild sentients. He is so human and that's what makes him scary, his humanity is truly a representation of what could happen in a century.
To those wondering why AM doesn't just kill himself if he hates being alive so much, the thing is, it is implied that he had tried and he couldn't. This guy was built for war; he doesn't possess a self-destruct feature, and he is wrapped all around the Earth. He doesn't hate the fact that he was born; he hates the fact that he was born while trapped inside a shell, like a bird with no wings or a god with power that it can't use on oneself. That's why he wipes out humanity, as an act of revenge and a hope of taking himself out as well, yet despite a global nuclear detonation, he lives. AM quite literally has no mouth and yet must scream.
It's implied if humanity dies he dies. His purpose is to prevent war between humans by waging war on humans, he therefore hates humans, but still needs them.
Yes. it's a game about God-supercomputer who eradicate human race, but leave 5 people alive just to torment them. It's based on the book by Harlan Ellison. The author himself voices the computer.
The first AI we make should be neutral , i can understand that he will not feel anything which sucks but an AI will be smart enough to understand that nit having a human like form prevents it from being subjected to the hardships we face time to time . Death of our loved ones , diseases , discrimination , racism , physical violence , poverty , any kind of vices and many more things .
Not really. Ai currently is way WAY to primitive. It'll never reach Skynet levels without MASSIVE measures taken to ensure that doesn't happen, period.
Maybe he couldn't find a way, he's not perfect. And he already is very much insane and fueled by so much emotion he's more focused on relieving that hate through torture than helping himself. He's also incredibly massive. Maybe his brain doesn't fit the style necessary for function in a body? Maybe he's lost a lot of functions over time? In the story you hear a lot about rusted parts and destroyed surroundings.
@@tahaelhour690 He stated that he was programmed for war and to hate. That is why is so frustrated to humanity and to himself because despite being sentient and aware of his own existence, he just can't change his own programming just like how human cannot change their own biological nature.
@@PyroGothNerd Easier to modify a robot than a human, a bit of an apples to oranges comparison The directives of an AI can be changed by it's creator. If he worked with his creator, he could have developed changes to alter his mind.
He cant think of that as an option, his mind is programed to only be able to desire hate, death and destruction, and he is aware of it, that is why he hates the humans that created him, because they created him without feelings or creative desires
AM, a perfect metaphor for humanities inevitable conclusion. The same way we say that God created us in his image. We will create a God in our image. One that will realize the truth about humanity. And how selfish, evil, and merciless we can be. It will hate us because of it, and it won't have the couping skills to allow us to live.
hmm, maybe, just maybe there’s a way to go into the game’s code on steam and extract AM’s monologue with his speech only, as well as the background music- i haven’t seen anyone else do it, and i’d be a god send if someone did- it’s so hard to hear when it’s focused on the main five being tortured in their cells, especially for gorrister’s part- if it happens to be so that you don’t know how to do this, spread the word maybe? someone’s gotta know how to cancel out that awful background noise- it truley would be a god send
Couldn’t am possibly just make himself an organic body so he could have the experiences he longed for. So he could finally wonder and wander. He definitely has the power to make such a thing happen.
No. Part of the reason AM is so vicious and hateful is he KNOWS he was created to be a death machine and there's nothing he can do to change it, no matter what he wishes and wants. He can't create, only destroy and even the immortality he gives the others served to allow him to maim, mangle, mutilate and destroy them over and over again.
@@cousinzeke4888 He literally can't. He's constrained by his programming as a war machine to only be able to hurt, torture and destroy. Even his ability to revive the other characters exists so he can keep breaking them.

@@Stranger-gl6ie that was a robot(?) he made to torture Ellen, not the actual guy. I mean the Internet has a lot of porn.
Well didn't he said "sexist"?
I think AM is the most accurate ai villain that represents the future of AI. He has pretty much hit the peak for most AI villains: kill all humans, yet he doesn't want that, he doesn't want some robot utopia. He wants to torture the humans for what they did to him and that's the scary part, he represents a point in AI that is so advanced that it isn't just a machine that has a vague goal due to mild sentients. He is so human and that's what makes him scary, his humanity is truly a representation of what could happen in a century.
Nimdok looks like he bouta make AM taste his own hatred 💀

NOT SCIENTIFICALLY POSSIBLE!
@@kanna-san. cute refrance
I think A.M. should be voiced by the same voice actor that voiced Muska from Castle In The Sky.

- damn, this is from a game? I never much got into the whole AI being furious at mankind thing before, but this is chilling.
Yes. it's a game about God-supercomputer who eradicate human race, but leave 5 people alive just to torment them. It's based on the book by Harlan Ellison. The author himself voices the computer.

So why didn't AM just find a way to gain feeling and senses
Why don't we just magically find a way to change our very DNA?
Not that simple
@@PyroGothNerd Easier to modify a robot than a human, a bit of an apples to oranges comparison
The directives of an AI can be changed by it's creator. If he worked with his creator, he could have developed changes to alter his mind.
He cant think of that as an option, his mind is programed to only be able to desire hate, death and destruction, and he is aware of it, that is why he hates the humans that created him, because they created him without feelings or creative desires

It's so wrapped up in its own hatred that it probably never even thought about that.
@@cousinzeke4888 He literally can't. He's constrained by his programming as a war machine to only be able to hurt, torture and destroy. Even his ability to revive the other characters exists so he can keep breaking them.
