- Overlanding on a mower? I know right! 3 days and 2 nights of wicked riding shot in 2k. Kentucky is the land of breathtaking vistas and trails. Join along on the fun, mud mower style. Ahh childhood memories! Nothing sounds better then an oppy doing some work in the woods. Tho, them V's do sound good too.
Love me an oppy doing some work, though souped up V twins working hard have that v8 rumble about them that is awesome to hear in person.
True indeed! I run both for numerous things and off road. Them Vs always sound like a group of Harley's having fun and that's just a beautiful thing in it's self!

I remember when I Suggested this around the time Grind Hard Plumbing done this with the Power wheels ATVs and you said well I can make it happen and you Did lol are we doing this for 2022 we should do a ride in Michigan
I'm down, in the middle of setting up this summers play dates. Mud mowers from hell has a ride this coming February 19th.
I’m starting to build like 5 mud mowers for me and the buddies to go trail riding this summer.

It seems here in the UK solving the 'mates' problem seems to be easier than finding tracks like those 😂

The best part is when you finally do the motor swap and it's no longer just a lawnmower.
I've often heard it's difficult to aquire big motors across the pond.
Same here in the Highlands, but I use mine in my woodland, where it works restoring habitat with lots of mods. Because they are so small and light, they get aboot under and round the trees without compressing the ground and damaging roots.
I just love these wee garden tractors, so much fun and so tough 😀

Cost vs awesome fun vs much cheaper than any hobby I've been into. I'll build hot rod motors for tractors all day.

I just don’t understand why nobody locks up those differentials. Power to both wheels all the time is double the traction.
I feel ya, but for all these guys locked rears and loaded front tires are a must do.
Only $8000 cheaper than my RZR that’s in the shop! And twice as much fun!

That depends on what you want to do. Typically it's build them as you go. Kinda like your own personal stamp.

i have a nice Murray riding lawn mower i turned into a long range off road trail tractor and the first time i took it to the trails the DNR made us leave because a "lawn mower is not an ATV"
Iowa sucks 0 public land and what public land there is snobs have so many rules you cant even use the trails
Hmm, I've managed to title Keizer as an ATV maybe you can too. Save up all the receipts cause there gonna want to know how much you spent and work done have a cop come to inspect and sign off. Boom ATV. If he gives you any grief show him Mr Studabaker as reference of what your doing. He should laugh. Oh, in Michigan I have a form for the cop to sign off on.

Just love these wee garden tractors, so tough and versatile. I'm trying to get my woodland neighbours to get into them too, but there's not many in the Highlands. But they loads of fun to modify and capable off-road 👍

What transaxles/transmissions do you guys use. Looks like a lot of fun I'm about to start building mine.
Its a whoot best times ever riding around on a tractor. You get the coolest looks from all around.. Get after building that hot rod and send it.
All stock trans mostly. 820's, wheel horse 1-1/8 axles, 633a and a cub trans with 47%overdrive gearset installed.

I see what your talking about. It was the operator, and that was a lesson not to be duplicated. I do hope the newer videos reflect this.
@@MrStudabaker i seen other go pro videos doing that.. i had some cheap action camera and one of the best video opportunities of my life 40 minutes of high speed scooter run down a twisting mountain in cambodia and i get to the bottom and look at the camera and it froze at 12 min into the video didn't have enough gas to do it again i was so disappointed should have just used my phone but that was another big problem stupid iPhone with no memory
@@be.ndover oh man that's my Windrock run. Drove up this major hill with rock and boulders to drive around. Camera in one hand steering wheel in the other. Best run ever and the camera did not record.

Welcome. Mowers are a whoot. Those guys are running a 6" sheave on the motor with a 5" on the transaxle. Some do a 4"on the axle.
I love the content, but talking to the camera while standing next to a running lawnmower was pretty dumb, and very aggravating for those watching, lol, other than that, great video, thanks for sharing.

I got a 1981 for yt16 that needs a little love to the wires but runs fine I would love to do this sometime but there isn't to much interesting in georgia

I think the knock urs is doing has to do with the cam cuz it don’t quite sound like the piston it sounds like the cam lopes are wore down
Without tearing the motor down its anyone's guess at this point.

Shoot there are tractor friends in quite a few states. It's in our blood ya know and all are super awesome individuals, which make tractor rides that much more enjoyable.

Keizer absolutely uses overdrive gears to help achieve the 30mph speed.

@user-vj1dx6nd2r you most certainly can. Look for overdrive gears for a pulling cub cadet. There are a few videos from Midwest cub on how to fit the bigger gear sets in. Look for the 43% overdrive gear set.

Are those tractors that fast from the factory? If not, what did you do to them?
No sir, top speed of 8mph from the factory. Most of these rigs go over 20mph with a 7-5 pulley set up.

Can you walk us through the drivetrain on these tractors? Guessing some are running welded stock transaxles with pulled mods to get the speed, no governor and foot throttles. Is anyone using stronger/different rear ends from other machines (like atvs or something)?
I could do a trail side review 🤔 on each axle. No atv axles.

How far can you go on a tank of gas? The tanks can not be that big on thoughs
Keizer can go 8 hrs on 4 gallons of hard riding.

@joeydepalmer4457 avg speed, maybe. Keizer will do 30mph at 6200rpm. Running with SXS's at Windrock, yeah, wot for the better part of the day to keep up.

Yeah I get lost in the moment a lot out on the trails.
I’ve got a 420 John Deere with a 23 horse Briggs that mowers shot so I took it. Can I took the gas tank out a bit put a big tractor seat on it for three point hitch on it front wheel weights on Rich front suitcase, weights on it weights on the rear tires and I’m using that for a whole box scrapper a laround the yard at it angle blade now what I’m hunting for is a Wisconsin four-cylinder that I can rebuild. I want to put it on a 318 John Deere and I’m going to lengthen the frame a little set that in there put stacks on it and make it for a parade tracker I think it’ll be a lot of fun, it is a godly redneck says looks like you’re having fun may safe may God bless 14:15

I'm building a Murray with a stretched frame , I'm thinking about putting 26 HP Briggs in it or a 17 HP . I'm just having problems with trans tho

what engine and trans dou you have on your tractor ?
An old flathead kohler 16hp block making somewhere around 30plus hp. Factory trans with the fastest gears I could find.
When that new tractor your building flips/rolls on you your going to be flattened lol. Love the KY romping videos by the way.
