I woke up today at 6:20.. I have had breakfast and coffee already, spent an hour reading for leisure, then read an hour for study, and now I’m going to workout, and then clean, and then maybe start on a puzzle or watch a funny show before I get ready for work. Thank you Rachel for the inspiration
It's really important to note that our bodies sleep in 90 minute cycles. You have to sleep 6, 7.5 or 9 hours at a time or else you'll wake up in the middle of a cycle anxious and feeling "sick."
organicallyhannah Everyone's cycles are different lengths, though, 90 minutes is simply the average! to get more precise, download a sleep tracker app that uses the odometer in your phone to exactly calculate your sleep phases and it will wake you up in the 30 minute period before your wake up goal time, at your lightest sleep phase! ive been using the android app (sleep as android) for 3 weeks and my sleep has NEVER been this good. theres also an iphone app.
there's one thing that gets me always out of bed no matter how early: when someone is waiting for me (friends, a professor, people i meet in general). therefore i would suggest to have your meetings in the morning, because you will feel uncomfortable to let someone wait and waste their time for you. otherwise i often can't motivate myself to get up.
I agree! I think it's so funny that every time I have an appointment or somewhere to be, I can get up at any hour no matter how early, but if it's a day off I could easily sleep until 11 pm 😂
Its tough at first but I get up at 5.30am every morning before the kids get up. I can have my breakfast and coffee in peace and plan my day ahead it's actually become my me time as well xx

I LOVE waking up early. My alarm goes off at 4:40am every morning and I've woken up this early since I was in primary school. As a medical student and long distance runner, I use this extra time to do a 15km every morning and even squeeze in some extra study before I begin my day. Its amazing and I'd recommend it to anyone!
Sarah Emily good if it works for you, I prefer studyin and training by night, also, no matter how id try, I cannot overcome the hatred for running when it comes to me being the runner
i totally needed this video because i'm a student and all my classes are in the afternoon so i never wake up early and i get NOTHING done, and it made me really unmotivated and i felt really bad for the last months
This video is so helpful Rachel! I study from home, and knowing that I don’t have to go to class at a particular given time makes it soo hard to get up early! (Even though I used to naturally wake up at 7 a.m...) I’m definitely going to get back on track! Lots of love from France X
I also recommend drinking water first thing in the morning! Often, we wake up with a head ache or that tired feeling even after getting a good 8hrs of sleep. I suggest (and have been told) that you may not be tired, but simply dehydrated. Think about it, you haven't had water in 8-10hrs at this point. Drinking water will typically ease the headache, wake up the organs, start your metabolism and all that good stuff. The first thing I do is sit in bed and drink almost half a litre of water (but a cup or two would also suffice) and I instantly feel more awake!
I do agree that the best problem is to get up from the warm cozy bed, it’s just so hard to fight it. But at the mornings I do manage to overcome that cozy feeling I have the best productive mornings

I find your advice very useful. I usually am not a morning person and the change will be harsh ahah ! I wake up at 10am and I think I'm gonna go step by step. This week I'll try 9am, next week 8am and the next 7am and I will stop here because I think 7 is a good hour to wake up, not too early but still early to have the time to do some stuff !
I absolutely love your videos, they have really helped me to stay focused and getting things done! I also have trouble waking up early, but I realized that if my alarm clock is a song that I really like or some energizing music I instantly get energized and get up more easily...

Yes yes yes I loved this! My goal is to set aside an hour each morning to meditate, read, exercise and visualise my future in a positive way and so far it's working wonders! Definitely recommend reading the Miracle Morning, such an amazing book about everything you talked about x

I found this video to be really motivating as one of my goals is to have a better sleep pattern. One thing I can suggest to you is, if you are working late on your computer, there is a program you can download called Flux, which turns the blue lights normally found on the computer screen to a red based colour, which is supposed to help with you falling asleep. Maybe this program could help you when you're working late, but still want to have normal sleep pattern. Keep up the great content!

I do believe that your environment effects you're sleep ! I sleep really good when my room is clean i feel very good too ! But when my room is a total mess i can't get enough sleep +i feel sloppy !
Great tips! I’m a morning person and wake up between 5.30-6am every morning for my workout before work! The only con to being a morning riser are the weekends! My body laughs at my attempts of having a social life past 9pm on a Friday and Saturday night when it naturally thinks it’s bed time 😂😭
My new habit this year is to wake up at 4 am lol it’s hard but I actually feel great today. Mostly because I want to live healthier and I workout first thing. Since I’m not fully awake I workout without thinking about it. I know myself and I will not do it in the evening. It’s actually really nice setting a routine tbh 😅

I actually find it easier to get up if I drink a lot of water before bed. Even if I wake up during the night to go to the toilet, I drink more water before I go back to sleep 🙂
Actually only taking a sip of water is sufficient. Drinking more than that forces you to wake up to go to the bathroom & can very well be interrupting much needed quality deep REM sleep. Put your alarm at the other side of the room instead or use an auto wakeup light that mimics the natural soft rising of the sun. 😊
Personally I find I don’t wake up during the night on the nights that matter (I usually wake up if I’ve had alcohol). But that’s still a very good point :)

There have been some days where I would sleep at 3 and get up at 5 . You know what ur right if u know for what ur going to loose your sleep for if it's worth it then sleep wouldn't just matter .
I am not a morning person at all !! When my baby arrived I was dreading mornings and less sleep . But actually to my surprise she sleeps till late 10-10:30am and goes to sleep around 10pm at night.. it’s a great feeling !!! I don’t see why I have to wake up early otherwise unless off course my baby wakes up lol
Great motivational vid Racheal😍. I’ve started getting up at 5/5.30am to go for a walk. I’ve found it extremely relaxing cause it’s so nice & peaceful that time of morning😌😌. I find I get so much more done in the morning which makes me feel really good🤩🤩. This way I get to hav a nice relaxing arvo. I suffer terribly with insomnia & average 3.5 hours a night, it’s so frustrating😩😩

I am a night owl and work best at night, plus I can't work until after my little one is in bed, so that means a late night. I would love to be more of a morning person but its so hard to adjust now!!

I like the feeling of waking up super early. The whole world silent. My huge problem sleeping people said listen to zen music. But how do you put a timer on it. Like I use Spotify and if I do get really relaxed then I have to gr Grab my phone and put the music off.
I have to go to bed at 11 or 12 in order to sleep all night and be at 6am. If I go to bed any earlier I always end up waking up around 3.30-4.40 until 6/7 and then fall back to sleep because I get tired and then I’m late to work. It’s an annoying habit.
