Good question.
President Gordon B. Hinckley himself said, "Where devastating floods have come, where earthquakes have created disaster, where hunger has stalked the land, wherever want has been created by whatever cause, representatives of the Church have been there."
The Church has an extensive humanitarian program. To learn about it, visit the Church's official website.
Thank you for posting this. A true Prophet of the Lord. I will miss him so much.
I've met Pres. Hinckley while serving a full time mission in the Philippines Cebu and Bacolod Mission 1987-89. His sense of humor and warmth is apparent. I love his calmness and wonderful spirit. I will miss him.
Thank you, President Hinckley. I love you and will miss you.
With a doubt, he was the greatest inspiration to me as I served my mission in the Philippines. He often spoke on his mission changed his life, as it did mine. "Forget yourself and go to work", a lesson that can be applied to any aspect of life. Godspeed to our Prophet, Seer and Revaletor.
