Is there a size difference between the work lines? Czech you say it's the healthier of the 3 working ones but are they all the same size except for the other 2 that have slight sloping backs? One day I would like to own a healthy gersman shepherd and I really dislike the sloping of the back so the show lines are automatically out of the list. I would prefer a big size German shepherd that's why I ask about size difference. Anyone that knows about this or has owned those breeds?
I have a German Shepherd I believe is from the Czech line. She's not as long as a standard GS. Very athletic and people pleasing. Great with other dogs, loves human touch, and will return the touch by leaning against you, or gently putting her paw on you. Wants to please her handler, there's no one I would want to be trapped in the woods with but her, she'll find a way out. Mine is 70 lbs, had blood tests done when she was bitten by a tick, she's the healthiest of my 3 GS. Found her on Craigslist, she had to be rehomed because she didn't get along with the men in the young female owner's life. Turns out the owner had trained the dog to a shock collar, but when the owner wasn't around the men in her life were shocking the dog for no reason, so she fought back, she's no dummy. Now that she's out of that toxic environment, she comes when she's called, I point and say "crate" and she goes right in. Had 2 obedience classes, will catch a frisbee, the most loving dog I've ever had. I think she's Czech line judging from this video because she doesn't have the markings of other GS I've seen. She loves to snuggle next to me, any attention I give her, she wants to repay me. Hope this helps.
The working lines tend to be shorter and stockier (heavier boned). The German show lines are slightly taller and leaner (not by much, its really by the individual). Its important to consider what you looking for in a dog more than the size. All GSDs have a ton of energy and drive. they are all working dogs so when someone talks about a medium or low drive GSD remember thats compared to other GSD types. A medium drive GSD will make most other breeds look like couch potato's. A working GSD is going to have off the charts energy. Our working GSD has the energy and stamina to work ALL day, from sun up to sun down. If he were to be kept in the house all day, he would be bouncing off the walls and a little walk doesnt drain his energy. Our German show line Shepherd has less energy but still has a ton. A 5 mile hike doesnt even faze him. Whether your GSD is 85 pounds or 100 pounds its still a bad ass looking German Shepherd. Prioritize Health, Intelligence and Disposition/Temperament more then size and color and you will have the best GSD you could ever wish for.

@@sbsb3550 get stacking but i've seen american showline gsd that actually have a severly sloped back structurly, some breeders have made a right mess of them
@@lucielocket3203 those breeders are few, every american line gsd ive seen has a straight back, straighter then the german showlines, they look like the original shepherd when they are standing not stacked
