- I'm pretty sure this tech support scammer expected this to be a quick easy way to steal a few hundred dollars. After 2 hours goes by he realizes he's been wasting his time and freaks out!

Man I am a big fan of your work and I am from India. I have actually seen what goes on inside these scam centers. I was in college and I needed something part time so I gave an interview where the person told me that I would be selling their softwares to people in the US, I wasn't sure what exactly he meant by softwares and I had never heard about these scams back then, so I joined in and on the very first day they gave me a script and told me what to do, I understood what it was and I never went back, I left the job immediately, but I was in touch with one guy working there and he told me they didn't even pay them well, the promised salary was around $150 a month plus 30% of each sale and the guy used to pay them around $50 without any incentive so yeah they used to scam their own employees as well. After a few months I heard that the Police had arrested the owner and had shut down the office
Damn, so some of the employees don’t even know it’s a scam necessarily. That sucks.

@@psark Very few people are evil and I am sure the scammers have their reasons. The thing is, everyone has a sobstory, that does not excuse stealing. Like every issue it is complicated but at some point there is right and wrong, and people are responsible for their own action in the end.

No wonder my computer hasn't been working. It's not connected to the Internet!" Yet, the Internet is comedically required to control your computer. How long would it take for the Scammer to figure this script-breaking conundrum out???

That's actually exactly what "legitimate" antivirus security software does though. They charge you almost more to cancel than to keep it
@@brad7566 citation needed. I've checked the cancellation policies of pretty much every major consumer antivirus provider and none of them charge you not to renew your subscription at the end of a contract term. It's unclear whether that would even be legal in most jurisdictions.

What a recovery
The Temporary Cancellation automatically renews the Protection Service when it expires but The Protection Service does not automatically renew when it expires. In fact the only way to renew the Protection Service is 5 days after it has expired and the hackers have gained control of your computer, that's when a notification is sent to them to call you and go through the complicated procedure to detect the hackers and offer you a new 'Protection Plan' with the option of a Temporary Cancellation at the end of which it will automatically renew the Protection Plan with non specified expiry time or charge !

If he had a southern accent it would remind me of my late grandma. She was such a sly woman and extremely long winded. I'll never forget a scammer (maybe?) called saying for her to donate 1000's of dollars to a police fund. My grandma being in her late 80's yammered on the phone for a good 30-40 mins before she screamed her son was a police chief and she didn't see them sending his department any money. They were so pissed at her for wasting their time. Tbh this was years ago and I'm not sure it was even a scam but she got pretty indignant over them asking for money for police when her son was a police chief. She could low key throw shade when she wanted. That woman was a legend.
I used to work for a political action committee, which called raising money for “police, firefighters, EMT’s etc.”. It’s absolutely a scam and 90% of the money goes into a politicians pockets.

Im torn between the reveal or the psychological torture of having invested so much time and effort and been so close to making thousands of dollars only to have it all slip right through their fingers. That would be the kind of thing that would keep you up at night, for awhile at least. I think I prefer the latter though.

Kitboga, thank you for doing these videos. My father is not very tech savvy, he was taken multiple times by these disgusting people. He has always done the right thing and handled his issues , so without question he purchased Greendot cards. He actually had an issue with the IRS from his business. They stole over 3000$ from him, when I found out I was furious. Watching these is like getting the revenge I cannot have. Thank you so much kit.

I'm so glad you are still doing this , just hope the older generation watch and learn from you. My mother in-law in her 90's has just been scammed on the phone and they have taken just under £9.000 from her account here in the UK over the phone. She was so upset that my wife ( her daughter ) new something was wrong and prized it out of her what she had done. She took her to the bank but it's to late as the money has gone, abroad the bank said. She has hardly any money left now and we have had to give her some cash to tide her over. We have told her over and over again all the time for the last 20 years or more to just put the phone down and say nothing to them . Think she has learnt her lesson but far to late. Should be a click card that older people could use that has only a small amount of money on then pensioners wouldn't be able to get scammed like this , as we could just upload a small amount onto the card for her to use. We now have 100% control of her bank account and this will never happen again to her.
