    I obtained an exact copy from a friend who had it in his barn. A Singer 29-51K made in 1927. Your videos are invaluable to me particularly the disassembly part. Your English is much better than my Russian would be, so I want to thank you very much. It looks like Singer used so many parts, I wonder how I will keep track of them all to get it back together. I am sure I will be watching your two videos, over and over. Thnks again so much

      Part 3 and also final part will be out soon, including assembly. Actually I watch my own video when I forgot something.

    Thank you very much for that video. I bought exactly the same model and that helped me a lot to see the steps, anticipate the difficulties and to know which tools to use. Thankfully, mine was in better shape cause it was oiled a lot (even too much) so that was easier. For the pins frozen I used a torch and he worked very well, it damaged the paint but I wanted to paint it completly so, for me, that wasn't a problem.

      I should utilize the torch too. I could gain new experience there.

    De casualidad tienes el video donde sacas paso a paso toda la parte de abajo de la lanzadera todas esas piezas desde que salen de la maquina. Es que empezaste sacando unos pines y luego se corta el video ya con todas las piezas desarmadas

    Hey, great video series. I've just bought one of these - what did you use to treat the bare metal where the paint had flaked away? Thanks!

    Hey, ich hab mal ne Frage & hoffe auch das du mir evtl. Antwortest.
    Wie hast du denn die ganzen Kleinteile bzw. schrauben gereinigt und poliert?
    LG :)

      Hi Aaron,
      Die Kleinteile sowie Schrauben hab ich tatsächlich auch auf dem stationärem Bohrständer mit Scheibenbürsten bearbeitet. Das ist aber garnicht so ungefährlich. Da die Teile von der Scheibe mitgerissen werden können und weg fliegen. Eine Scheibenbürste bzw. alle rotierenden Bürsten ergeben ein sehr gleichmäßiges und kratzfreies Bild. Bei Handrahtbürsten hingegen sieht man die Schleifrichtung. Eventuell kann man für eine Dauer seiner Wahl, abhängig vom Erfolg, auch die Teile in ein Lösemittelbad legen.
      Es sollte sehr gut fettlösend sein. Falls dann noch Reste vorhanden sind sollte gebürstet werden. Mit einem Dremel oder Equivalent, einem Feinmechaniker Schraubstock und Schonbacken könnte man die Kleinteile auch bearbeiten. Jedoch ist das Einspannen und Umspannen ziemlich zeitintensiv. Dafür fliegen die Teile aber nicht durch die Gegend. Man kann auch anstatt eins Bohrständers einen Doppelschleifer mit Rundbürste ausrüsten. Das wäre leiser als eine Bohrmaschine und mit weniger Kosten verbunden.

    I bought a singer 29k4 from eBay and when arrived the arm where the bobbin is was completely broken and I don’t think it can be welded because of it being pot metal. I’m so bummed trying to fix it still 🙁

    • @Baerenson
      @Baerenson  4 роки тому +2

      That is terrible! Its possible to weld cast iron. Even soldering is possible. There is special solder for cast iron and and special cast iron sticks for stick welding. I also saw videos where someone welded cast iron with wig and stainless steel as additive. But I am not so experienced with welding.

    Can you share what tool you are using to push the pins out? It's shown at approximately 7:12 in your video. Thank you!

    • @Baerenson
      @Baerenson  4 роки тому +2

      Sure! It's a pin punch set with guide sleeves.

    What was that blue ? You were using on rusted parts ??

    • @Baerenson
      @Baerenson  2 роки тому +1

      Its a waterbased rust converter. I wouldnt recommand it that way anymore. Its just temporary and needs a paint over. Also if there are rusted spots, there might be rust developement under the paint next to it too. Now I would conserve the little rust spots with linseed oil.

    Hello,
    Did you used petroleum to clean the old dry oil ?

    • @Baerenson
      @Baerenson  3 роки тому +2

    Not brass weld...????

      I tried to create the smallest river table.
      Actually I would'nt use Epoxy again. Brass weld would have been and is the most preferred bond.
