@@witchfromthenorth5294 Yes, during a state of real psychosis the ability for executive function is severely limited if there at all which is why a person would be declared insane not knowing right or wrong. He was obviously capable of using executive functioning, organizing and premeditation.
Personally I think he fantasized about doing this over a long period and might have done things before not caught for. Might be part of the reason they moved states away, wish we had that information because a 14yr old does not create a "Murderkit" out of nowhere.
I was in high school in that state and could not walk to the bathroom without being asked for a pass, and we had teachers everywhere so made it real difficult to sneak around. Real surprised there was nobody there to ask him. It might not have stopped him from committing a crime like this but it would have stopped it from happening so easily inside the school.
ALSO- why were there not locked faculty bathrooms?? We had them and this was pre Columbine era for teachers- so many small things could have prevented this.

Danvers High School was right down the road, and had I stayed living there (before we moved as a kid) I would've gone there, close enough to walk. That Hollywood Hits cinema is now out of business. Also Danvers (when Salem Village) decided to split from Salem proper, their petition to the King was refused. Danvers split from Salem anyway, and put the king's answer to the petition on the town's seal.

He needs to be in prison for life. The two 40 year sentences need to be served back to back equaling 80 years. There needed to be security and staff asking why he was there! So frustrating! And the recycling bin?? What?? Nobody said anything about all the blood?? What is going on? He had hardly any blood on him although I pray she was dead when put in that bin. AWFUL! He was “hateful” towards his mother…. he obviously had serious issues towards women. He treated his mother horribly and the killed a kind woman trying to help him and very carefully planned and executed a violent attack on another woman. He was NOT a nice kid. He was really awful. His poor mother! And the woman that survived his attack….. she is forever scarred as well. He’s just evil.

Why didn't anyone question him on why he was taking that black garbage bin into and out of the school?!? His lawyer said his client was 'suffering from psychosis' - did he really NOT know right from wrong or reality from whatever else? Give me a break! The kid was 14 years old and went to trial at 16; before all this, his family says he had behavioral problems - why not get him HELP back in the day?!? Massachusetts doesn't have a charge of 'Mutilation of a Dead Body' in their law books?! Unreal...I suppose it won't be added until something like this happens to one of theirs. You know what!
