Great idea to compare these two pedals, but, guys, you gotta play some single lines and allow the notes bloom once in a while rather than just chugging chords...it's really only towards the end where the pedals are stacked that any difference between the two becomes noticeable...which makes your own observations a tad redundant, since we - the viewers - have not really been able to properly hear what they can do individually, and thus unfortunately have no real point of reference...
Also, I find the volume management the hardest. I use the blue side mostly for clean boost with some breakup... But to get the volume to be find when stacking the green side into it, I need to keep the green side unusable on its own. I can see the other application would be to have both side usable one their own at manageable volumes and ONLY use then stacked for leads and solos since the volume jump is so much.
I'm curious, but I find the Protein would probably be more useful to me. Reason being, I don't like the Nobels side on its own, but I like it stacked into the Blues Breaker side. The BB side on its own doesn't go high enough in my opinion, so stacking it still likely won't give me enough.
Even though it’s based on an ODR1 the green side still has that ‘mid hump’ like a TS/klon type pedal which I just don’t like - the blue side is much more natural sounding and I just wanted that sound with more gain available so the carbon x is perfect for me.

Your videos are fun! I’d love to see a shootout between the cornerstone Coliseum and the Browne protein.
Thank you! Great suggestion! I currently don’t own a Coliseum, but I’ll work on getting my hands on one to make it happen!
@@gearnighthang I’ve got one you could borrow!
I have the coliseum the bb side isn't as good as the marshall bb reissue or the carbon
@@dustinarnold79 interesting. I prefer it over the bb side of protein and the reissue for my taste

Try these settings out:
Blue side - vol 12:30 drv 9/10, tone at 12:30/1
Green side - vol 2/3, drv slightly under 9, tone at almost 3
@@blakeparadise9998 Thanks. Will do.
Sound the same to me.
I can't stand the green side of the protein, so the carbon for me :)
Same!
That's why I bought the blue Carbon
I’ve always loved it but recently it’s been mainly blue side
Talking about this one and this one without showing us which one is this one doesn't make it easier. ;)
Didn’t like the green side of the protein at all - retuned it for a carbon x!
Same here!!
what did you not like about the green side?

Green side is so good! Especially with a tele!
