Hang in there, Angela. My siblings and I live in the same State within a two-hour radius of one another and managing our elderly parents' issues between 2014 and 2021 were still challenging beyond words. There is no "how to manual" for this process in spite of thousands of articles and books on the subject of caregiving. We all have to handle things base on our own, our aged parents' circumstances and the dynamics of our families. I found my needlework and puzzles provided me hours of relief during the rounds of doctors' visits, hospital stays and later hospice care. I can tell you that even though some days you felt and will continue to feel overwhelmed: You will get through it. Remember to take of YOURSELF with lots of healthy meals, exercise, rest and sleep. Ask your family for help when you need it. Do NOT be a hero. Lean on others when necessary. Stay safe and well.

Bless your heart! I was in a similar situation with my mother and stepfather so I get it! Your last remark was exactly what I wanted to hear you say! Stay healthy and sane! Yes ! You’ve got this ! I pray God places the right people in your life to help you navigate the days ahead. I pray you find peace in all your decisions and your parents get the best possible care. I pray you find joy in each day and time to calm your mind with knitting. I pray that each night when you lay your head on your pillow you know you are enough and you did the best you could. Don’t beat yourself up! Rest, eat right, drink lots of water and know you’re doing the best you possibly can! God bless you and your parents!

Hi Angela, I'm so sorry to hear what's been happening for you and your family. I'm glad you've been able to work through it, one day at a time, and that you have found a craft that has kept you going. I do find in times of stress, I just can't bring myself to stitch, so I might look into the looms, they look great! Do take care - thinking of you, Jo xx

Take care of yourself. I know it's not easy. Our crafts are a great stress reliever. Just take one day at a time. I will keep you in my thoughts.
