I don't know how Yves Tumor can consistently re invent so many styles of music and dressing and yet always have a distinctive sound
Put simply, they’re a genius
I’m super excited for the unknown future 🔮
ua-cam.com/video/0YnB71XbkWo/v-deo.html 💀💀
It’s because Yves is the next Prince - just for a new generation.
Where is re-invention here and what do you mean by that?
This is why I always hate when people complain there's no good music out. You're not looking hard enough for artists like this.
exactly!!
I agreee
Absolutely.
maybe sometimes it's hard to find people like this
EXACTLY! There's so much good new music out there. And Yves Tumor is amazing!
If you're not looking for it don't complain.
Whatever Yves Tumor is doing it's the coolest version of music right now.
Reinventing it
@@ravenlotus How? None of this is even remotely new. I’m not against it, but they’re not reinventing anything. It’s cool though
@@estebanb7166 I meant to say enhancing amplifying
Yeah it sounds inspired by goth and electro-pop from the 80s (Afrogoth here) I love to see poc dipping their toes in the genre of music I love so much, esp since it's so overwhelmingly white
@@zetovidillard for sure. But a good amount of these genres have black (African or otherwise) origins but wasn't broadcasted due to the times by both the general white audience and the black community since we were also tackling the masculine identity (which rap then became the "figurehead" for masculinity)
I love post-punk. It’s like find an oasis in the middle of the desert.
You killed it.
I thought they were non-binary
@@user-jz8dd3zj8e You’re right
I love this soo much their music is soo amazing
@@user-jz8dd3zj8e they don’t mind he/him pronouns
It's commercial 80's New Wave; not post or post-punk.
Gives a great 80's post punk vibe.
Definitely. I'd say cold wave more specifically.
Joy division
@@DMB1138 hahaah wha? hes a rockstar, not an emotionless lamppost
@@luckydog2173 influenced by, not is
More like The Cure "A Forest," "Primary" vibe.
2:40 I can imagine a whole story plot for a movie with this bit alone
never forgetting when i saw them at all points east they grabbed my face and thanked me for coming. such a fucking icon cannot wait to see them again in march
god i wish that were me
you are so lucky :'(
I'm seeing them in March, too!
He grabbed it, or all of them? I'm confused like a transgender.
@@aidenvideos499 what the fuck are u even tryna say fam
So ahead of its time, and yet feels sonically and visually from the past (AKA, TIMELESS). The consistent themes of rock glamor and high art horror speaks to me so deeply as an artist. In the chaos of life, music will always be there for us. This is my soundtrack of choice.
this comment is everything
@@sarahfisher2770 thank u so much bby one love!!! U have great taste in music
I'm feeling overwhelming catharsis reading your comment
@@mkgvlc4 apparently you think you're self-righteous enough to deem who and who isn't an artist just based off a UA-cam comment.
Took the words out of my mouth yesss.
Jordan Hemingway's sense of post-blaxploitation aesthetics never fails to impress and inspire me. It's a perfect fit with Yves' often anachronistic musical style, taking influences from 1980s pop/rock styles common at the time into something new and exciting.
Tumor is the best thing that happened in the music of the 21st century
Supreme Artistry I’m literally in awe whether it’s listening to their music, watching the live shows, watching the music videos, or just seeing Yves in a picture
I was super lucky to catch them live here in Poland (most tours of Europe stop at Germany and don't go further East). One of the most memorable shows of my life.
@@Olhado256 omg jealous! no one visits croatia :(((
the chord change at 2:40 is such a treat for the ears. it’s like scratching an itch.
Extremely underrated artist. Their albums are some of the best I’ve heard in modern times
can't explain it but this speaks to me SO much... like almost too much. I think most of their music in general produces this level of intensity for me (Medicine Burn and Folie Imposée come to mind, just to name a few). kinda evokes the feeling of the deep longing to capture, or perhaps stretch out an inevitably fleeting moment. I don't know. whatever it is, it just hits the spot. experiencing this live will forever remain one of the absolute most euphoric moments of my life.
yes! I've had the blessing to see them live 2 days ago. best time of my life!
we’ll put. it’s intense and striking. fuels a type of spirit in me
I got to see him with NIN! it was hella fun!
"stretch out an inevitably fleeting moment" 😢
Can we talk?
It can be about whatever
I just wanna look you in the eye
We can take a walk
We can go wherever
I don't have a favorite spot

How can I miss you if you won't go away?

If there's any justice in the universe, Yves Tumor is going to be remembered by history as one of the truly great musicians of the 21st century, and a rare, RARE talent!
Nigga... This is the last music. Humanity goes extinct in 2025
Don’t worry. Yves may not become the most famous artist in the world but the music will DEFINITELY stand the test of time and will be a cult classic in the future. I am 100% sure about this.
most underrated artist of this generation
Not really.. edgy black dude with random lyrics tryna be a mix between The Cure and Ecco2k
@@footsoldier1188 lol yves produced for eccok2
He definitely is underrated and can mix so many styles but of our generation that’s a hard one but he is the shit and could definitely become one of

I really need more music like this from Yves.
As a queer Afrogoth artist, my mind is blown after finding this artist. This sounds exactly like the type of music I want to create and I'm just so in love with it.
@@kepler-32b Oh I'm from the US! Nice to meet you. Yeah I get tired of listening to the classics like siouxsie and the banshees and sisters of mercy. This feels like a fresh breath of melanated air that I haven't felt in goth music since Light Asylum
Not only is this song absolutely incredible, but this is probably the best title I've ever seen for a song, I have a real fixation with names and this really scratches that itch
I'm here. I'm 70.
Never heard of Yves Tumor prior to this moment. I'm not sure what "this moment" even is, but it's AWESOME!!!
You’ve gotten listen to limerance by them

Um. I think this is my new favorite artist of anything.
Giving me soviet post punk/rock vibes. Absolutely love.
Seriously, Mugler knows how to manage sound construction, references and audio editing in their shows !!! 2022 spring summer nailed it
I have an inner voice that tells me that this song somehow understands my numbness very well.
New wave will never die, I'm so happy it's being inherited by the newer generation of musicians and constantly progressed as a genre
a fucking icon
the most interesting music artist out there rn. yves will be a huge influence in years to come
This is 80’s shit, holy shit you kids gotta expand your musical genres 😂
@@porscheclub9672 Yeah, all music is literally built out of other music. No on invents new genres. But what he's doing with the genres is, in many people's opinion, really cool. If you don't like it, no worries. But no one needs the patronizing, bro.
@@YoungSantasGroupie he know Joy Division only 🤣
@@YoungSantasGroupie you ever heard of Christian Death?? What he’s doing with the genre is what has always been done with it lol Yal gotta open your musical discography up. @@porscheclub9672 Wow you might be one of the biggest douch-bags to comment on music that I've ever witnessed speak:
"Ummm, actually guys, what this artist is doing is pretty similar to this other band... so like....the fact that you like this music and don't know about all the intricacies of this genre means that you are an idiot. You might think it's refreshing but actually it's not bc my opinion is the full truth. Unlike you noobs, I have an extensive listening catalogue and am clearly morally superior to you"
Yeah I've heard of Christian Death. You ever heard that no one likes pretentious douche-bags like you? If you don't see what's new about Yves maybe you need to open your library up, lol. You must be a lot of fun at parties, lol, telling everyone how impressive your musical taste is. Why don't you kindly f*ck off? Lol

I’ve been using this song for my morning jogging, feels exhilarating to keep up with each beat and get electrified by the intro every time it loops. My most listened song for 2022, probably.
Okay. This was so good! I love the retro-esque Punk Alternative music coupled with gender fluid imagery. Those elements evoke so many wonderful memories of friends from many decades ago. 😊🎧
their music videos always fuckin rip omg. im so glad i got to see them live in october. experience of a lifetime
How was it? Damn i really wanted to go
I don't know how the hell I am JUST discovering this video and this band, but my life is changed!
This guy is so dope
I absolutely love the visual homage to Patty Hearst (1988) so well done and fits the tone perfectly!!
My favorite song of theirs. When I heard it live I felt like my life was complete. This is heaven.
