Guys…overwhelmed in the best way with the feeling of love, support, and community in the comments of this video 💭😌🙏🏻 really means a lot. I’m glad you guys have enjoyed it and had something to take away. If this one resonated with you, just know you’re not alone 🤍 and your support reminded me that I’m not either. Appreciate you!!
Hi Jared. Fantastic video, love your honesty, and the way you describe your own situation. I think many people knows the situation of anxiety - including myself, and the feeling of being judge by others - and i just wanted to let you know that, by your work, your videos, pictures and so on, you have become a great source of inspiration. ! Hifive to you, for the honesty and the courage you are showing by posting a video like this - its videos like this, that makes "social media" social. Thank you for that 🙏🙂
The courage and self confidence you’re commanding successfully presenting yourself to the World here on YT alone has you leaps and bounds beyond the vast majority of self-proclaimed “confident”, judgmental individuals who would ironically be too afraid to express themselves here on YT. Thank you for sharing your feelings so openly with all of us 👍❤️…I appreciate you and your insights.
Ugh this means a lot to read...so nice of you to say, thanks so much 🤍🙏 looking forward to making more videos like this one as I continue to be open and share this journey. Thank you for watching and being here!!
God bless you on your journey Jared. As one going through grief counseling, your words resonate with me. As a fellow photographer, I learn to create through the grief-especially when visiting places (like the Village) where I took my son. Thanks for sharing!
Agh I'm glad to hear it resonated. How lucky are we to have these outlets which allow us to express our feelings. I'm sorry for your loss and keep creating 🤍🙏
Hello from Sweden, I really enjoyed the mental health talk, I also have issues with not being best friend with my brain at times so it's nice hearing others share their story.
Hi there! It means a lot to hear this...hearing others share their story has always inspired me as well. I'm glad you liked it, and thanks for watching!
Really appreciate this 😌🙏when we act from the heart, our people will find us, whoever judges you isn't meant for you. Finally learning what that means. Thanks so much!! And thanks for watching
For some reason, YT algorithm brought me to your video. I share the same thoughts you have, being in the city too. Photography is my creative outlet but in the pursuit of long term plans, I paused it and deactivated instagram to focus on things. Hopefully we can go street photography one time together!
Howdy again from Texas. Another great video and I appreciate you opening up and giving us some insite into your world. The self-portrait shot using the mirror was a great capture and glad to hear that you got it as part of your " photography bucket list ". Sorry that you and your cat had to go thru that trauma and glad to hear that you both came thru it better Remember to keep doing you because nobody can do it better than you can. Take it from somebody who is 40 years older than you, life is not always fun OR fair but as long as you keep going and learn something from the experiences it truly is worth the BS you go thru occassionally. Keep up the TED talks whenever you need to because, believe it or not, there will be someone who needed to hear what you had to say and it could very well help them thru the mental struggles they are going thru. Looking forward to your next video post.
Agh thank you so much for this, really means a lot and I appreciate the insight. It really is so true that these struggles and challenges are here for a reason, usually always for our greater good even though it doesn't feel like it in the moment. Definitely plan to make more videos like this, it was very fulfilling for me to share. As always, thanks for watching and being here 🙏
Hi, Jared…just checking-in to say “hello” and I hope you’ve had a nice day. I enjoyed and ‘felt’ your recent Visual Diary: Learning to love yourself. I just watched a few of your ‘older’ videos from months ago. Of course, looking forward to your next ‘new’ video! I hope you’re doing OK/well - I have thought a lot about you this week. Keep leaning forward, friend. ‘See’ you soon - I hope! 👀👍👋👋
Hi there!! Thank you so much for this!! so nice of you. I had a great weekend, and I hope you did as well! I had planned on filming a follow up to the last visual diary video today, but it rained so I'm planning on it next weekend instead, and very excited to make more of those in the future on this channel as I continue to be open and share this journey. I have a fun vlog style video that I filmed the weekend after that one as well that I'm excited to put together and make something out of. Really appreciate this and appreciate you being here 😌🙏 hope you have a great start to the week and I'll be 'seeing' you!
Great video Jared. I’m also an introvert that suffers from anxiety and goes to therapy. This video was like a therapy session. I understand what you mean by us tending to hide our problems and act perfect on the outside. It is not healthy. Please continue these types of videos where you open up and communicate your anxiety and issues. Your best video for sure. Also, the mirror photo was excellent. Thanks Jared.
Agh wow that means a lot to hear, thanks so much for sharing. It really isn't healthy to hide and act perfect, it only makes the anxiety worse. I definitely plan to do more of these, the next one I film will be a follow up talking about what's been going on since this one. Plan to get out this weekend to film it. Thank you again for watching and sharing! 🙏
So…hi there, Jared! Happy to see you, as always…and to follow your video today. Listening and watching you has been great for my mental health - just so you know. I sooo enjoy your videos and verbal commentary. Thank you, Jared! 👍👀👏
Great video, I like the mirror shot too! New York is good for you! You have grown so much! You set a goal and you go for it! I’m glad your therapy is helping and you are feeling better about who you are! You should be very proud of your independence and the sharing of your personal life to help others! Keep up the great work, stay positive and learn from each day! 😊
Thought I commented, but maybe I didn't? Anyway. Love this post. I deal with depression and a little anxiety disorder as a side plate. Hope Walter is on the mend.
Aghh yeah I ended up taking down the first upload and re-uploading the video again so it might've gone on the first one haha sorry about that! Thanks for sharing that, the support on this video so far and hearing from everyone sharing really just proves that we're all not alone. And Walter is much better now! Took him about a week to like me again after the cone haha but he's back. Thanks for watching and being here 🙏
Good to see you back! I absolutely loved this video and the candid conversation. I love that people from all areas are talking more about the importance of mental health. Knowing and conveying that it’s ok if you need to talk with someone. Let’s normalize this. Glad all is well with you. Keep being you, it’s what we like to see in the video.❤. Loved these shots. It wasn’t until I saw you and one other photographer that I even am considering street photography. It’s interesting and raw.
Aghh this all means a lot to me to hear, thanks so much 😌🙏🤍 and I totally agree about normalizing it and hearing more about it. Very cool that you're considering it!! it started with having an interest in people and people watching, this felt like a more fun way to do that and document what you're seeing. Exactly as I said in this video, it's also a great way to disconnect and process what you're feeling, while also being outside and just watching life. Truly has been a blessing to have in my life and now can't imagine it without it.
Hey Jared, I'm new here. I just wanted to say thank you for an all round great video. The mirror shot is awesome, and the fact it comes in a video where you're also being reflective is poetic. I started my own photography journey at the start of 2024 and it's by far the best thing I've ever done for myself. I also have anxiety and the ability for us to unplug and be mindful, grabbing these moments of time and logging them in their pixelated forms... It's a beautiful thing. Good luck with your journey, be kind to yourself and keep doing what makes you happy. ♥️
Hi there! Welcome to the channel!! Agh this all means a lot to read...so glad to hear you picked up photography, it really is the gift that keeps on giving, and is such a beautiful way to slow down and stay grounded. Keep it going! Thanks so much for this, and thanks for watching 🤍🙏
Good to see you back, hope Walter has forgiven you for the cone of shame 😂 I’ve lived with mental illness all my life, accepting who you are and that it’s not a taboo subject is half the battle. Had to laugh at the “guest” appearance under the bench a few times
😂😂 took him about a week to like me again but he's doing much better now, thank you. It really is half the battle, and makes such a big difference when you accept it and own it, instead of trying to hide it away and pretend like it's not there. That makes it so much worse. Thank you for sharing, and know that you're not alone! And so funny I didn't realize the guests were there until I was editing this after the fact
Hi Jared, greetings from San Diego, I like your photos and videos. Be well, we are all doing the best we can. We just need to make time to practice our art as medicine.
Hi there! That's exactly right...we're doing the best we can, all we can do is take it one day at a time, and make time for the things that make us happy. Thanks for this, and thanks for watching!
I my self struggle with depression and anxiety and the only thing that makes me alive is that moment in time when I carry my camera on the streets and I start doing Street Photography In that exact moment I feel relaxed without any stress or negativity inside my head It’s so hard to fight depression and the only truth that can be told is that art is our savior
Completely agree with this. Like myself, I'm so glad to hear that you found photography 🤍 it really is a beautiful thing and way to cope and try to understand everything that's going on around us. Keep your head up and keep going, you're not alone 🙏🙏
Where are you from? NYC is definitely a challenge. I hope one day I can meet you and offer some advice from someone who is also living social anxiety. Being consistent in my street photography and talking to strangers during these walks is what brings me so much joy and acceptance and confidence.
Originally from Rhode Island! Not too far away from nyc but definitely a big lifestyle change. I always love talking to others about these things so that would be great, I'm excited to share more that I've learned and gained insight on since filming this video. That's exactly why I love it too, how special is it to have an outlet that directly helps with these struggles. Thank you for watching, and keep shooting!
Hi Jared. Many of us live with the mental health issues you have identified with. Loneliness will tend to amplify them. I would urge you to seek out some kind of group to connect with e.g. a community service club. What about a photography club. Enjoy your videos.
Hi there! it's definitely more common than we think, and makes sense that loneliness amplifies it all. I do have one creative group I see for a meetup on weekends hosted by my roommate, which has been fantastic and keeping an eye out for more photo walks/meetups in general as well. Actually just talked more about this in the video I filmed yesterday as a follow up to this one! So that'll be coming out soon. Thanks for this, and thanks for watching 😌🙏
Good to see you back, has Walter forgiven you for the cone of shame yet? As someone whom has suffered mental illness all my life I know how you feel, accepting you are what you are is good, do things and change things for you - never try to change to please others! BTW liked your guest under the bench, they say you are never more than 6ft from a rat 😂
I'm not picking on you or your generation, but it does seem to be a concerning epidemic of young people with this disorder. And I find this super concerning in a stressful and violent world. In thirty or so years us X generation will be handing off the world to you so I hope your generation finds there place in this world. Anyways wishing you the best.
FIRST TIME SEEING YOUR VIDEOS. I'M VERY GLAD UA-cam PUT YOU IN MY FEEDS!!! GREAT VIDEO FROM START TO FINISH! KEEP GOING STRONG AND DOING WHAT YOU'RE DOING!! SUBBED AND GOING TO CHECK YOU ON THE INSTA!💯🤘🏾🤘🏾👊🏾

Life does not have to be picture perfect. Simply enjoy and be thankful for the subtle moments of your existence that makes you smile 😸 📸 😃
Exactly right...that's making more and more sense these days 😌🙏 thanks so much, and thanks for being here
I feel you with your cats surgery. Had the same lower urinary tract disease with my cat. Very stressful.
