Marc, this was exactly what I want in standards analyses. You have a gift for explaining things at the right level and speed for me to process this information. Please keep on doing these! Thank you for making me a better player!
Very informative, the format for "Standards Navigator" is easy to follow with a good blend of theory and practical examples. I think keep developing this idea. Good job
Great lesson - I like this idea of reducing to the changes to the four key centers. And thanks for mentioning the iReal Pro automatic transposing feature (I didn't konw it). Thank you Marc.
Excellent initiative Marc. Sometimes just doing a harmonic analysis can be very theoretical and dull. Explaining ways to actually play over that analysis makes it much more interesting and useful. I think Stella would be a great second standard to go over as the analysis, and playing over the chord changes, are more complex. If you want to keep it at a basic level for now, then Blue Bossa might be a good choice. Congratulations.
Solar was originally written and recorded by guitarist Chuck Wayne under the name of Sonny. Waynes tune uses a Cma7 for the first chord. Miles stole it from Wayne just as he stole Nardis and Blue in Green from Bill Evans and Four a NH d Tune Up from Eddy "Cleanhead " Vincent.
Excellent, just what 8 need thanks.
Superb lesson Marc. I think you finally answered the question: where do all those other cool notes come from. You da man mon ami.
thanks for the Navigator, adding an understandable, practical application of the theory. Please continue the series.
