Do you think active track would have found you if it wasn't for the picnic table? It looks like it locked onto the picnic table even before you walked behind the tree. From the camera's POV the table top is roughly the same size and same color as you.
The Imagequality looks crisp, but there are dropped frames every few seconds. Is this also in the raw footage? Also some jello effects are visible in some shots.

I wonder if you have the same outcome Jack? Intelligent/one click flight modes are poor quality video output due to being only a tiny 8bit I saw on another channel. I was curious if you noticed any quality issues on the intelligent flight modes when viewed on a larger screen? Many thanks for all your very helpful advice by the way. Am trying to find an outlet for this here in England but no luck so far.
I'm on my second one now. (Don't fly around trees in a valley with no gps) i loved it until the last update. Camera is all jittery now and video transmission keeps cutting out.
I've been considering a drone for some time. I have an auto channel so some low-speed "action" shots would be nice, as well as following the car (at low speed of course) or circling it. Nothing's really gotten my attention until now with this Fimi... But there's also the ATOM and it looks strong too, for basically the same price. I'd love opinions on which is the better one, as I'm a complete noob and don't know what I don't know!

I have seen the fimi mini v2 compared against ALMOST every drone in its class/price range and also seen it compared to drones very different in price and class . Ive seen vids comparing it to dji mini , mini2 , mini2se , autel nano , cfly mini , cfly mini v2 , atom se , holystone drones , hubsan drones , ive eve seen it compared to $100 drones and to full size full price drones ( which seems pointless ) . What i havent seen is it compared to what seems to be its most direct competitor ( potenisic atom 3 axis ) . However , Imo , in terms of price/features/perfomance , the atom 3 axis seems to be its closest competitor , yet i cannot find one single vid directly comparing it to the atom 3 axis ??? . Actually. Changed my mind and decided to make it a family drone adventure. Got my parents a cfly mini, and my 11 yo daughter a ryze Tello with 3 batteries…. since she’s addicted to her iPhone. Was about to pick up the dji mini 2se for me and my 9yo boy. Instead got him a Syma x440 and got myself the fimi mini v2 from Santa (decided to avoid geofencing issues since nobody else has dji). I picked all based on your recommendations. Thank you! Ever try the new syma x440?
Potensic Atom 3 axis gimbal is better. I have both. Fimi is faster and may have a better camera and more features. But it's just more rough around the edges than the Potensic and isn't as rock steady of a hover plus there is no fly more kit with a nice multi charger like the potensic

Can I ask you a question? If you move from one spot to the other, are you then still at the same spot? I'm asking because the app shows 'Home'. Now what good is it that if you use the tracking feature? OK optical tracking is a nice feature to get certain shots. But this is completely worthless if you's on a bike tour. I don't know about you, but I actually like to get somewhere. Having to ride back all the way to where it took off is not an option. The drone has to come to me. But you drone reviewers never mention if it has a homepoint update. We can only guess. It's so important.
@driewiel the home shows where you took off regardless of mode. I’m guessing you can reset the home point but I’m not certain. I’ll check next time I take the drone out.
@@HalfChromeYes thanks. Please do check in the future if you think some model could be good hiker/biker drone, either with follow-me (of which I'm a big fan if it is programmed right, most aren't), or active-track, or just because it is easy to fly manually. I mean just imagine rock climbing and suddenly the drone decides to return home. Or on a moving boat. Or you launch it on a road, ride your bike, and before you make it back a trucks runs it over. Last year I flew my funny $130 L109 Pro. It automatically updates homepoint. But I forgot it only does so when using follow-me on the phone. So then it's panic or what I call 'sports mode' to race all the way back! Luckily the RTH was set high enough not to hit any tree. However when it is hilly terrain that may not always be the case. What you want is the drone flying towards your last location, hover for a while, and very slowly come down giving you all the time to take over and land it safely. That is exactly what my L109 Does when using follow-me in the app.
