Like your videos. Great advice. Say it how it is. I recently retired after 24 years. Poolies listen to him. He his a true Marine taking his time to share his experience and giving you advice on what it’s truly like. Great leader and mentor!
1. Save your money for mct & schoolhouse. 2. Don’t eat junk during your 10 day leave 3. Clean your uniform before you check into mct 4. Definitely don’t buy a car 5. Don’t get in trouble with the law
Very good advice. Don’t buy a car, and whatever you do, do not get into debt. Manage your money carefully. Do not buy anything you do not need, and remember that there is a different between “want” and “need”. You want everything, but you need very little.
My boyfriend on his ten day leave spent 2-4 hours every day walking up and down stairs with his ruck on to keep the bone density from boot camp for the first hike at MCT.
Just got back from MEPS. Officially a poolee can't wait to get my ass to boot camp. Great channel and keep it up helps a lot and motivates me to go harder in training. Thank you!

He's 100% correct. When you get home on boot leave you better stay in an animalistic frame of mind. Get up, put on your go fasters and run. I ran with a buddy who was a reservist 0311. We ran about 4 miles flat out hauling ass. When we stopped he puked and I laughed. Get the miles in. If you don't PT while you're on boot leave, you will be sucking wind and hating life at SOI/MCT. You can't imagine how much stamina you can lose in just 10 days , especially if you're eating trash, drinking beer and smoking cigarettes. Don't fuck around and smoke weed either.

Sound advice. As for the cars, you’re right. In fact I tell some of my friends now if you want to get a nice car cheap, find one through NFCU, or someone trying to sell theirs before they get sent to Okinawa or Diego Garcia 😂 Otherwise uber and lyft make that easier these days.
The marine corps makes you a warrior, it does NOT make you a man. Just remember that. Becoming a mam has to do with maturity and the ability to make tough decisions that you do not wanna make. Thats not the same as simply being a warrior.
I remember the first hair cut I got after boot camp was a high and tight... after that, I decided to NEVER do it again 😂 went to medium fade right away and later to low fade.
Buy a red satin jacket with a giant EGA on it and a Death From the Sea banner along the bottom and a hash mark on the arm that says MCRD on it, to lay the foundation for you MCT, SOI, or Camp Johnson hash....
Back in '87 my SDI told us not to take ten days to report to MOS school. He recommended just a couple days home because those ten days count against leave. Has that changed?
Anyone watching when he says take care of your uniforms. He means your alphas, you got 10 days get your alphas pressed, cleaned, set yourself up for success. Things like this are how you set up for meritorious promotions and may be fortunate enough to be a Lance right in the school house if you play your cards right. This is huge financially because you're talking about an extra $600 per month If you take a bit of time and do this stuff. Obviously there is the pride behind a promotion but $600 a month for a school house where you really don't be spending much money except for on haircuts and goofing off with your buddies you're talking about a couple thousand extra by the end.
Full Send Filosophy Idk about you but I've never had my alphas inspected once going into MCT or the schoolhouse. Haven't done anything to them since I got them

Honest to god I wouldn’t even try for RA, let alone 10 day leave. Hang on and save those precious ten days for after SOI or SOI/MOS School when you’re working doing your actual job in the FMF. Get SOI at the very least over with so you aren’t on camp guard or early bubble/ holding platoon. But that’s just my advice looking back, different strokes for different folks.
There was a guy in my Platoon during our 22 week OSUT who would buy two pairs of Jordans every weekend pass.... TWO PAIRS!!!
