Most in the fandom credit him with that, and I don’t know if Louis understands how instrumental he was in creating that 1D identity along with whatever the main PR team marketed. The early band years, before all the boys grew into the fame and the singing, would have been so boring without Louis. It’s so wild hearing him feel insecure in the documentary and in the interviews about his contribution to 1D’s success. Yes, he accepts the writing credits and worries about the lack of singing space but somehow LT undervalues his own secret ingredient. I mean… he is legendary in the fandom. He’s credited with so many cultural phenomena. I wish he could feel how his fans see him. Like, he’s a proper rock star in that iconoclast way, but he has this wholesome vulnerability about him.

I have 27 years and i remember around 2013 met this 5 talented boys and who get my attention right away was louis's unique voice & strong, sassy , funny & humble personality!!! he became my favorite member💙!! he had to carry the team & take the most hard decisions for the band in a crutial moment i love our tommo!!!

I don't know how he can claim he was blindsided. They'd talked about it for a year before the decision was made back when Zayn was still in the band. Also I hate that he's pissed they didn't go on. His "best friend" was going through major alcohol and drug addiction and still hasn't got it straightened out yet. (Liam) They had already lost Zayn to mental health. Harry's vocal chords were so overworked an pushed so hard that in the end he spent most of his time on vocal rest and he couldn't make it to the end of a show without losing his voice. I think if they would've continued then his voice could've suffered permanent damage. I haven't watched this yet but hopefully he redeems this starting point because this to me just sounds like he's just trying to villainize other members of the band for "ruining" his life.
Now how did you get Louis trying to "villianize" the others from this? Louis talking about how he wasn't expecting a break and how he didn't want one because he loved the band so much was not him making the boys look bad. No one thought that watching that scene, if that's what you thought then that seems more like a you problem. Louis was/is allowed to feel what we feels and talk about it. What's the point of Louis lying about something as serious as him not knowing the band actually wasn't coming back? Even if they did talk about it, it probably was just something they talked about, decided against it after talking or something that wasn't set in stone. Even Zayn said in an interview in 2014 that he wasn't leaving the band and the band wasn't going on break. There's nothing for Louis to "redeem". You just seem like one of those people who hate on Louis for having feelings like every other louis hater does. If you're just going to be upset and mad that Louis has feelings and talks about them, then you're probably not going to like the rest of this doc. This whole doc he talks about his feelings and what he went through, which he's allowed to do and shouldn't have to not speak his experience just because people who don't even know him refuse to acknowledge he has feelings and he's a good person.
