It's not that people don't know that they can get their items. The problem is trying to retrieve the item in person. They make you fill out a form and often times they fail to contact you. It's ridiculous since the people who sit in the offices don't do anything but be bureaucrats.
jaime villafan not necessarily. I once filed for a missing briefcase and I know that they had it because it was the last Metro Gold line train to APU/Citrus College.
Joshua Oh I’ve done it. It’s easy to be absent minded riding a bus or train because your mind drifts as you’re listening to music or playing on your phone.
If they have a box for the wallets naturally there would be some type of identification with in them why would they not try to mail it to them or send them a letter like bro we have your wallet?
I lost my poetry journal I kept through high school on the LA metro , I poured my heart into , I was devastated and I still am about the whole situation .If I would have been aware of the metro lost and found I would have definitely gone online ☹
Most of the time if you know what bus you were on all you have to do is go to the division. It goes to that lost and found when people don't claim their stuff at the division
Deonte Givens Same! I have gone there numerous times and the folks in the counter are bureaucrats. They tell you to fill out a form and never both to look for lost items.
On Wednesday, May 29, 2019, I lost my Identification card along with my social security and medical card on the number 60 bus and nobody bothered to tell me that nobody found it, but a lot of people important things are there not one MTA employee let anyone knows that your stuff is here
I lost my wallet on the bus turned in a form that same day & I didn't get it back til 3 months later. Surprisingly everything & every last penny was in it
My son left his tablet on the subway the metro operator found it and emailed me where to get it. and I went to pick it up from this place and I didn't file a claim just described it and they gave it to me.
🤔A lot of stuff haven't been claimed because those are stolen items that have been abandoned by thieves or homeless people's junk so they don't care for it. Then there's that mentality where you like it's already long gone/ someone stole it/no one will return it/whatever I'll replace it. Also, how many times have you lost stuff and you have to backtrack to a dozen places and spots? So the last place people probably would think is at the Metro because they probably looked back at their seat when leaving or don't think it's possible for them to lost it there/ that would be the last place it would be at🤨
Metro holds it but doesn't help telling you where to find it...I lost 3 rings in subway... ig, msg their page and no one replied... I even went to metro office in union station and they didn't say anything to where to look for it... all they could say was sorry :(
If metro is going to make money off people's lost and found they have to reduce the fare. It's ridiculous how much money they are making and how much they charge per ride. Not very convenient after all
Andres Di Zitti no it's not.. Michigan Boston and many more States nation wide are usually less than 1.50 or about. Almost 2 dollars per person for a bus ride is way too much considering it's a massive carpool. Carpooling/buspooling is supposed to be cheap. and also the metro is being sneaky with this extra money they're making off things that dont even Belong to them. Also why do you need pictures of a bike to claim it????? My friend forgot his expensive fixed gear bike on the bus and he tried to claim it, with great detail and everything but they refused because they need a Picture??? Is giving the thorough description not good enough ??? Metro needs to be more considerate than this. This is almost a scam deep in it's roots if you think about it
OHH GOD I said it's "one of" the cheapest fares, not THE cheapest fare, also considering our service area $1.75 is a bargain. And the reason a picture is needed is because anybody can give a description of a bike, even if it doesn't belong to them. As for the sneaky money they're making (LOL) if you're that concerned then do a public information request and see how little they make when the auction the items out...
I've been riding the bus for years and I never knew Metro had a lost and found Department wow I just learned something new today
Ronald Lewis It’s located at the Heritage Square Gold Line Station
It's in Cypress. I pass by it on my way to work

It's not that people don't know that they can get their items. The problem is trying to retrieve the item in person. They make you fill out a form and often times they fail to contact you. It's ridiculous since the people who sit in the offices don't do anything but be bureaucrats.
Richard Sequeira it's easy I got my back pack u fill the thing online and they email u back same day not hard at all
jaime villafan not necessarily. I once filed for a missing briefcase and I know that they had it because it was the last Metro Gold line train to APU/Citrus College.
They’re full of sh***t
Seriously. Most of those things are so big. How could you possibly forget and not notice those things when you're riding on the train?
Joshua Oh I’ve done it. It’s easy to be absent minded riding a bus or train because your mind drifts as you’re listening to music or playing on your phone.
I literally had someone tell me that they will stand in the front so they won’t forget their bike and guess what , they still left it .
How does somebody lose a dirtbike on the bus/train?! lol
Have these people never seen a stop sign before.
If they have a box for the wallets naturally there would be some type of identification with in them why would they not try to mail it to them or send them a letter like bro we have your wallet?
Sup Sup they probably take the money.
The box was labeled no name wallets. Assuming that indicates there was no ID inside.
Candice Adams lol your right .... good eye ...I feel dumb😅
Omg you found my tv, wallets and purses!!
She want that ring 😭 bet she took it after the camera cut off
I'm sure any money left in wallets are gone!😂
Give those bike to the people in need.
Fuck that. If they want nice things then they can work for them.
People have the mentality that if it's lost on public transport it is gone for good. I myself am guilty of this, I've lost keys on a bus once.
Where does it go for auction I want to go
What did they do with the items after 90 days. do they auction them off and is it open to the public.
Tbh I left sandwich there bout2years of it I hope it’s still in the los n found

I lost my poetry journal I kept through high school on the LA metro , I poured my heart into , I was devastated and I still am about the whole situation .If I would have been aware of the metro lost and found I would have definitely gone online ☹
When is their next auction?
Most of the time if you know what bus you were on all you have to do is go to the division. It goes to that lost and found when people don't claim their stuff at the division

Deonte Givens Same! I have gone there numerous times and the folks in the counter are bureaucrats. They tell you to fill out a form and never both to look for lost items.
Deonte Givens Yup. It really seemed the guy put less than minimal effort looking for my stuff. Went in and was back in less than 30 seconds.
Yes, I feel as though they don't really care about people's belongings.
Wowwww 😱
Guarantee those wallet are always missing the money before auction😂😂
thats my wedding ring I've been looking for that
“This is a stop sign”
No shit lmao
I actually left a work badge on the bus and the bus driver gave it back to me when it came back.
Misha R. Same with my wallet once, I described it and he pulled it out of his pocket and handed it over
On Wednesday, May 29, 2019, I lost my Identification card along with my social security and medical card on the number 60 bus and nobody bothered to tell me that nobody found it, but a lot of people important things are there not one MTA employee let anyone knows that your stuff is here

I live in the los Angeles area and I ride the bus daily, yet I didn't know about the metro lost and found 😅😶
A lot people actually don’t know. About lost in found
Metro holds it but doesn't help telling you where to find it...I lost 3 rings in subway... ig, msg their page and no one replied... I even went to metro office in union station and they didn't say anything to where to look for it... all they could say was sorry :(

OHH GOD and BTW Boston's bus ride is $1.70 if you have a Charlie Card, if not it's $2.0]... and their rail is between $2.25 and $2.75 a ride...
I used to snatch bikes off the bus bicycle rack. Good times
