Can we have this procedure in Ontario, Canada? I am in waiting list for a the regular Ablation
This great info...but it has me in a quandary!...I am scheduled for an RFA in about a month...but this PFA situation has me wondering, if I should postpone the RFA for a set period of time, until PFA shows up in my locality?...It seems the superior procedure...my Ablation doctor has already said that I could be needing a 2nd go-round if the first RFA does not have a good result!...and when I briefly mentioned PFA, he just kind of shrugged and told me that he only does RFA for the immediate future.
Same here. About 3 months out because that is their backlog at Penn Medicine. Scheduled for an electrocardiogram Jan. 5. I plan to ask him about PFA. He Said Penn has 85 to 90 percent success on the first ablation. Most hospitals are around 60 percent.
What local area are you in? Seems this PFA may be about a year out.
I have Afib like clockwork on weekly intervals for about 36 hrs. 65 years old. great shape.
Same here, please both of you let us know what you have decided?? I’m in NC, my EP said he’d be doing PFA probably in 2024, waiting on FDA approval
@@blakemoore666 after my electrocardiogram I guess my heart was normal. The cardiologist said I can get RF ablation, try to treat with Meds or wait for Pulsed Field Ablation. I don't want meds. I'm waiting for Pulsed Field. He said 2 to 12 months. Penn Medicine was part of the trial and the trial ends June 2023. They did all the procedures. June ends the 1 year follow up.
Hoping I can get it in the Fall.
@@lrc87290 I go to Atrium Health here which is formerly Wake Forest university hospital, they just finished a trial study for PFA, my doc said as slow as the govt is it’d be 24 months or so before approval for it here. Thanks for your info sir!

PFA may be associated with TIA or MRT shown brain lesions.We need more data about this new method.
Yes. More data. That's why they do the trials.
Already approved in EUROPE. Pulsed Field has been used in other parts of the body to treat other conditions I believe.
I had an 2nd ablation last May in Switzerland and I had the pulsed field ablation done by a professor in a university hospital,not successfull because since than I had two episodes of afib,I had to have two elektrocardioversion one before an abdominal operation.
How do I get into program? Nia falls
