you are amazing man and i cant express how much i thank you! i have learnt majority of the content through ur vids and now im getting grade 8 almost a 9 in my mocks THX SO MUCHH
The GCSE Maths Tutor Thank you for all the great content i went up over a grade in my mock to a 7, actually starting to believe I might be able to get a 8 thanks to you 🥰
Thank you your soo great my igcses are in a month i never fully understood sine rule and cosine rule but over the course of 2 hours i'm soo good at it thx
33:22 why does dividing dividing occur before square rooting.. according to Pedmas, squarerooting should occur later because square root is a type of exponent.
2:45 how come you swap the B and C? Is it necessary to do in an exam because wouldn't that change the equation because the opposites are now different?
The question at 24:30, after finding the length opposite to 40 degrees, could you use Pythagoras to find the hypotenuse and then cosine rule to find the angle? Does that only work for this question as I did get the correct answer?
does it matter where you put the b and c after the a on the triangle because i put the b to a different place of yours and when you squared a it was like a 200 difference to mine so would an examiner still mark it right?
Question and yep I know weird number but when finding an angle using cosine I did cos-¹(420²+69²-101²÷2×420×69) but it just ends up as an error. Do you or anyone know why.
question, on your last question of the video, when you start finding x, why did you not take the minus, from the formula -2bccos60, should you not be timed by minus 1 if your do -2 x1/2?
You use the cosine rule to work out side and angles in non-right angled triangles (although can be used for right angles too!) when there isn’t a pair of opposite sides, in which case you can use the sine rule 😁🙏🏼
please help when doing sine and cosine rule doing sin-1(ans) and typing in the cosine rule it’s giving me the wrong answers i don’t know what to do i have an exam tomz
Dont think it matters as long as it corresponds with the correct form of the question. If it gives you find the angle B but the formula is cos A, change it so that you are finding cos B. But in short, no it doesn't matter just make sure you rearrange if indicated by the question :)
Gemma Khan I will try my best for you! I need to record those via a camera so it’s a whole new venture going down that route but I will definitely do this during the half term 😁🙏🏼
From the exam board website: “There is no formulae sheet provided with Mathematics examinations. Students are not expected to memorise complicated formulae but may need to remember simple equations such as the area of a circle or volume of a cube.” This seems conflicting as I would class the cosine rule as a complicated formulae but as it states, there will be no formulae sheet given in the exams 👍🏼
Ariaa Here it is - ua-cam.com/video/RMDl6zmuSF0/v-deo.html if you check the description or the geometry playlist there is also bearing with trigonometry 😁🙏🏼

Thank you very much for these concise and succinct videos they make revising less tedious and more efficient.
the one dislike is the guy who couldn't understand the video he makes it was easier to learn
Your videos have been so helpful, I have my exam in 30mins and am trying to do some last minute revision 😅
Was it y11 mocks
@shafie.1up no, they weren't mocks. I did cambridge igcse, which are done in oct/Nov

The question at 24:30, after finding the length opposite to 40 degrees, could you use Pythagoras to find the hypotenuse and then cosine rule to find the angle?
Does that only work for this question as I did get the correct answer?
Use trigonometry
thats what i did lol but its wrong
we can only use pythagoras in an right angled triangle
26:12 Could you use pythargoas theorem here instead of trig? Cause I got the same answer but used another method
30:32 where did the 4x come from inside the bracket?
thank you this was honestly so helpful
How would you know whether to use the sine or cosine rule? ++++ thank u so much for all the videos u do they are really helpful 😁😁
sine rule is used when you have 2 pairs. so an angle and length is 1 pair. cosine rule is used in other places
27:21 for this question for the last part i did sine rule and got 59.41° . Could i still get full marks?
You have saved me great videos!!!
Would you be able to relabel the A B and C in the actual exam? Or is that not allowed?
yeah dw
Good job keeping going with your fantastic videos.
Ty plz do whole course for gcse maths

absolutely amazing
what a wonderful revision ever. rthank you for your videos
COSTIE TV Amazing to hear! So glad it’s working for you 😁🙏🏼🙏🏼
How do you know when do use the cosine rule or the sine rule?
Sine rule when there’s 2 pairs. Cosine rule when there’s 2 lengths and 1 angle.
I recently discovered your channel, it's so simple and helpful.👍 Thank you
does it matter where you put the b and c after the a on the triangle because i put the b to a different place of yours and when you squared a it was like a 200 difference to mine so would an examiner still mark it right?
b and c can be written in either position but you should get the same answer! Definitely check your working out!
